Thanks all. It was indeed a good answer to this prologue bug. Next to Anton, Sanchez is the clear favourite on these hard stages and Anton normally isn`t in form that early.
Vuelta a Andalucia - Stage 3
Otura - Jaén
Here we are with the last really hilly stage before Farrar will get his chance.
The hills during the stage are not as hard as yesterday but there should still be some selection. But the hardest part might be the final, where the riders must climb a small hill into the finish.
After yesterdays performance Sanchez might be the top favourite today, but also riders like Evans, Gautier, Martinez or Lopez were looking pretty strong.
A pretty big group attacked this morning with very bad weather conditions. All of them are about 10min back, so not much too worry.
Veilleux (Europcar), Matysiak (CCC Polsat), Mørkøv (Saxo Bank) and Honig (Landbouwkrediet) might be the most known.
Again Garmin and Euskaltel are doing most work in the peloton and keep the advance under 2min.
Dao and Rowe, our two youngsters, who go into their 3rd season with us are doing the job on the first half of the race, while the 3rd of this young signings, Löw is already some kind of free element in these races.
Later, when Maaskant and Phinney are doing the pace the peloton splits pretty quick. Less than 50 riders in this group, where Garmin took full control now.
The next group of ~25 riders is led by Saxobank. Porte, who missed the jump yesterday is in there as also their best placed rider Kruijswijk. Not the best day for them. But also KoM leader Kirjienka as top 10 rider missed the split and will lose some positions today.
4,5km to go and the final starts with an acceleration by Sanchez.
Immediately some riders try to follow. Evans seems to be strongest, while Gautier and Kessiakoff are coming next and still ahead of race leader Martinez, who comes after together with a group around Löw.
This will surely create some time gaps today.
Evans indeed found Sanchez` wheel, but in the sprint he wasn`t able to overtake him. So the Spaniard takes the 2nd consecutive win in Andalucia and takes also the overall lead due to the bonus seconds.
Gautier and Kessiakoff finish 16s later. Great day for our Swede.
Martinez loses more than 30s in the end as also Löw, who finishes as 8th with 45s. And to complete our great performance today, Maaskant had still some energy to sprint on the 10th after doing lots of work on the long descent.

Thanks all.
Was a nice result after this crappy ITT. But on the other side it`s just a February race and also a pretty weak field.
In the next two stages two *** favourites are Farrar and Dao with Maaskant being ** and Phinney still *.
This just shows how weak the field is. First big signs are probably Paris Nice and Tirreno.
Vuelta a Andalucia - Stage 4
La Guardia de Jaén - Córdoba
Some hills but it should surely end in a sprint finish here if the sprinter teams are doing their job. On the other hand Garmin might be the only real sprinter team here and so they might do all work as also Sanchez is the actual race leader. So some riders might use this situation for a breakaway attempt.
And indeed a pretty big and also strong group got free this morning. Most prominent names are surely Igor Anton (Euskaltel) and Pardilla (Movistar). Both are good climbers but as all others more than 9min back.
Luke Rowe is the lonely worker in the peloton. With 130km to go he starts doing the pace and always keeps it around 3min.
But this also causes many more attacks. Riders like Witecki (CCC Polsat) or Tosatto are trying their luck.
This also makes the breakaway split. New joined Witecki and Igor Anton are leading the race now with several small groups in between.
Maaskant and Phinney had to work as the duo was able to accelerate a lot. So the sprint train is a bit shorter than we hoped and actually just Dao is really leading out Farrar.
The duo is still some seconds ahead with jsut 2km to go.
Shit happens. Instead of pressing "P" I pressed "O" with Dao and he stopped sprinting to check someone else`s status.
So some other sprinters overtook our train.
So Kenny De Ketele (Topsport) is the lucky winner and Farrar, who needed to oversprint many others on the last km, was much quicker than anybody else but has to be happy with the 2nd now. Stupid mistake...

Thanks for the responses.
Hopefully I will be more careful in future.
Had less time in the last days, but here the final stage now.
Vuelta a Andalucia - Stage 5
Córdoba - Antequera
We finish the race with a pretty flat stage perfect for the sprinters. Can Farrar do better today and celebrate his first season win? And more important, can Sanchez keep the lead to celebrate his 2nd race win this season?
A huge group of 15 riders including once again Igor Anton (+9'xx) as best. But due to our goal to win the stage today Luke Rowe is doing a constantly high pace.
With 75km to go the group is back in the pack and just 5 riders are attacking again.
Taylor Phinney is doing most work now alone with Rowe being a bit tired, while other teams seem to have no big ambitions. Just De Rosa is helping out a very few times.
So there are still some escapees within the last 4km. Maaskant and Dao are leading out Tyler Farrar perfectly and again it looks like a late catch of the breakaway.
Indeed. On the last kilometer they were caught and nobody was able to challenge Farrar today, so he gets his first season win. Baris Dao with a nice 5th today is also aiming a stage win this season.
In other news LL Sanchez finished in the pack and defends his 5s lead to Evans as also Kessiakoff as 5th and Löw as 6th. So far the best race result by the young German.

Great race for Garmin after a the disastrous prologue Nice first win for Tyler, great work by Phinney in all of the stages and LLS, Kessiakoff and Löw finished great in the final overall.

Thank you all.
Was a pretty successful race for us except of this prologue and the missed sprint win on the 4th.
The Züri-Metzgete or Championship of Zürich is back in professional cycling.
It was last held in 2006, where Samu Sanchez won before folding in 2007 and then being an amateur race in the following years.
The route is still the same and it`s taking place instead of the GP dell´Insubria-Lugano and one day ahead of the GP Lugano.
Obviously not all teams trust, that the race can come back as one of the biggest cycling classics, so some big names like Gilbert, Sagan, Gesink or Andy Schleck are missing, but still the start list proves that the new sponsors did well in bringing this race back.
The route is identically to the 2005 race with a long circuit and then 4x the shorter and harder circuit. With the descent and some flat kilometers in the end, an early decision can be expected on the climbs. Otherwise a sprint of a small group is hard to avoid.
Also the length of 233km that early in the season can bring some surprises.
Garmin squad in 2013
We are taking this race very serious and so most of our climbing aces are here. LL Sanchez is still in a good form and will lead our team here. But also Roche, Hesjedal, Martin or Fuglsang can perform well on these climbs. They are supported by Duggan, Barton and Souchon. All of them will have to do some work here.
