I'm not sure how most teams' rosters and budget hold up at the moment, but he would make for a very valuable domestique. I also think a team like GreenEdge, considering they have enough room and money (I think they still have one spot left on their roster) could be a good move also. Would be interesting to see him leading them in 1 week races.

He's far from strong enough to lead a team in any race. A decent domestique at best.
The 2008 version of Gerdemann vanished a long time ago.

Agreed. He is nothing more then a good/decent domestique. Could maybe get some top 10 in weekend long races, but nothing more then that. |

What do you guys think about the 30th place on Saxo? Will Bjarne extend with J.J Haedo, or will he get a new rider? |

I think he will keep the spot open for a stronger rider/domestique. I think they have lost to much of their "sprint train" (which never really got working that well) that it makes sense to hold on to Haedo

Yeah, but as a domestique, he's a treasure (according to me), so any team should be lucky to sign him! |

Yeah, that happened with a lot of "artificially made" riders since the blood passport. He's back to being pack fodder like in his junior days.
Good rhythms, honestly. I hate the guy. He has that personality where he'd stab his grandmother for a race win.
Like Stapleton said a few years ago: "Gerald will be sorely missed by all of us and we have a roster spot open any time he wants to come back to us.....Linus not so much"

Unreliable and inconsistent. Dump him unless you can't sign another reasonable sprinter AND he's willing to be very cheap
EDIT: Sorry Ian, nothing personal

Of course nothing personal issoisso As far as I checked, I'm not Gerdemann, just thought he's too strong a rider to be without a contract |

I agree with issoisso on Gerdemann. His attitide/personality stinks! When he was at Columbia, he thought he was bigger than the team, and he has never hit the same heights since. Whether he has changed his attitide since then, we don't know, but that reputation could easily make some teams very cautious about signing him!

Vasil Kiryenka -> Sky
Troels Rønning Vinther -> Cult energy
Marco Marzano -> Retire to staff role (Lampre-Merida)
Daniele Righi -> Retire to staff role (Lampre-Merida)
John Lee Augustyn comeback. First race South Africa in February. Guess MTN-Qhubeka is the obvious team choice...

Not just good. He can climb long or short climbs, he can time trial, doesn't have the endurance to be there every day to ride GC but is intelligent enough to pick the right days to go for it, he's selfless, he works his ass off, knows how to pick a break, has a reasonable sprint to finish it off, and won't kick up a fuss no matter what.
Excellent signing.
Also, it was announced about 4 months ago by everyone except Sky.

Wasn't it pretty much announced during the Olympic Road race?

I just hope it's the right thing to do for Kiryienka himself! |

Kiryienka is a nice signing, but I'd like him to have some leader/free role at times, he has proven to have the quality. |

Well, maybe we'll see him leading a race, depending on his race schedule
Though he'll be a great helper for the team anyways! |
