Looks like block 7 finally is a really good one for us  Roubaix alone with 180 points is just 1 point off our highest score so far, and Scheldeprijs was decent as well with 4-9-12.
And today, we finally get our first win. Fretin was our only rider in the race, but if he gets the win I won't complain about others not going there 
Looking forward to see Pidcock in Brabantse Pijl now to round off the block...

Block 7 results
We started off in Schoten for the Scheldeprijs, where Merlier gave the Turuls default team a big win. Also good scoring for the Mariners and the Fearless, but it was the Comrades who actually won some spots in the rankings.
Then there was Roubaix, a lot of teams tried hard to defeat the Pacifiers, but it was no use. A very nice 400 points after Mathieu won the race and Vermeersch helping a lot as well. The Pacifiers took a massive lead in the rankings.
Ronde Van Limburg ended in a sprint where Fretin got his first win of the season. The Inspectors also scored well here.
Finally the Brabantse Pijl saw a big showdown between Van Aert and Evenepoel, with the Turuls getting a second win in this block.
In the rankings, the Pacifiers have a 100+ points lead after winning block 7, but will it be enough now that Mathieu's season is over? Who will step up in the Ardennes? The Comrades have another very strong block and are in 2nd, with Van Aert still racing the Amstel.
The L are 3rd after only scoring well in Roubaix, and also here the question is who will get the big points in the Ardennes. The Hornets are 700 points behind the lead, but can you really rule them out with Pogacar and good support for the next two blocks?
The Mariners had eyes on the podium in both Roubaix and Brabant, but both Philipsen and Blackmore collapsed, resulting in a poor block. They have to look behind them again, as the Fearless bring the gap down to 100 points after a very strong block with Fretin and Morgado.
In 7th we have the Racoons, losing a spot after a worse block. The Turuls are closing in on them, thanks to Merlier and Evenepoel. The Inspectors lose a spot as well, again a very mediocre block. The Bonkers are the final team in the top 10.
The Ice Tulips gain a bit of ground, but not enough to enter the top 10. Girmay definitely not the top pick they had hoped for. The Spokes have a very strong Ardennes team, let's hope they can gain a few spots now.
At the bottom, the GTP's score a bit in each race and hold off the Cobblers in the fight not to finish last.

That's not looking bad! We got 4th, 6th (Barré proving to be a nice pickup in the final round), 8th and 12th in AGR and Venturini keeps adding minor points throughout France, which I believe puts us in the lead. But still a long way to go, and the Hornets certainly had a good day with Skjelmose-Poga 1-2.

Definitely a great block 7 for us, 2nd best team even without the big results in the big races, depth was working pretty well.
However, pretty disappointed by Pidcock, for a R1 pick he just hasn't been good enough so far. With the exception of Strade Bianche, obviously. Let's hope he's still got something special left.
Top 10 is looking rather safe this year, but for Top 5 we'd need some exceptional performances. But too many riders have been just disappointing to really aim higher - mostly Barguil and Mozzato, the latter not even being remotely as strong as in recent years.

Block 8 results
We started off in France with two smaller classics, they were in fact so small I will talk about both at the same time. Gillaume Martin gave the Turuls a win and some good points. Berthet scored half the points of the block for the Racoons. Some minor scoring left and right.
The Amstel Gold Race was a very interesting fight that ended with a 1-2 for the Hornets. The Turuls scored well again with Evenepoel and the Comrades are the knigs of depth scoring this year.
Fleche Wallonne had another Pogi/Hornets win, but also good points for the Fearless and also for the Pacifiers. Seems like there is hope without Mathieu after all!
In the Rankings, the Comrades take the lead. Who would've thought that after 3 blocks? The Pacifiers are only 29 points behind though, this will be a fight until the finish.
The Hornets fly to 3rd place with a massive win in this block. Their Ardennes squad is impressive, can they close the gap in Liege? The L had a horrible block and seem to be out of the fight.
In 5th place it's still the Mariners, but the Fearless close in after another good block. Then it's already the Turuls! They were dead last a few blocks ago, but Evenepoel is leading them to the upper half. It could have been even more, but bad selections saw them miss out on double Christen points.
Next are the Racoons at 8th, not a really bad block by them, but the others just scored more. The Inspectors and Bonkers are next, both with slightly uninspiring blocks.
Just outside the top 10 are the Ice Tulips and the Spokes. It would seem Hirschi was not the best top pick, although he could still prove me wrong in Liege. In the fight to avoid last place, the GTP's survive on breakaway and assist points, while the Cobblers close in but left some big points on the table with Martinez.

As we get closer to the finish line, the last big points are available in the penultimate block. We start off with the last of the Monuments, Liege-Bastogne-Liege. After that we do the only German classic on the calendar, the Frankfurt GP. Back to the Ardennes with the Famenne classic and finally it's the Boucles de l'Aulne.
More gaps between the races here, you might need to take some guesses for the startlist, which I'll need at sunday morning 27/04 at 10h00.
