I've posted twice about Hilaire Van Der Schueren wanting to start a new PCT team.
It's now looking as though he won't start a new team, but rather invest his money in Accent.Jobs. Though, this hasn't been confirmed by a official source yet. We do know that new teams must be registered before October, so more news coming soon.
De Gendt can join Hilaire's team, but he wants to stay on WT level. His team of choice would be OPQS, but he fears Bakelants will have the edge for the last spot. Other teams that have contacted him are Lampre & Alonso. He feels he's punished for his loyalty to Vacansoleil-DCM.

Yeah, it obviously has nothing to do with him having a crappy season.
Verbruggen loses it

Alonso can't help the sport, the sport would help itsself with getting rid of all the corrupt people from cycling. Not just UCI but also in all those teams. As long that isn't the case no one can help cycling with the corrupt people having the say in cycling.
For those who didn't read Vaughters' letter that comes with the video above, it's simple:
Anyone with any doubt that McQuaid is just a puppet with Verbruggen's arm up his ass should stop doubting

Both. Mostly Euskaltel, sure, but Alonso was too late. If he was serious about creating a ProTeam for the next season, everything should have started earlier.
That settles the argument, he definitely writes his own tweets

I thought Alonso had a better English tbh. He's one of our very few star sportsmen who can speak proper Spanish, so...

Oh, of course, another top athlete who just so happens to suffer from asthma, and his medicine just so happens to affect his cortisol levels.
I know! I'm trying to give myself asthma now, as apparently it's the one thing that is key to being a top athlete
I used to feel like that too. But that actually works both ways. 1) Riders abuse it. 2) Practising an endurance sport at a very high level makes you develop asthma too (for various reasons, mostly related to the intense breathing of pollution or cold/humid air).

Just like David Veilleux, Anders Lund retires from cycling to start studying at Copenhagen University.
Domehow you have to feel sorry for the guys. Most likely they've been champions in whatever race they used to take part in before turning pro or racing at the best U23/amateur level. Might have been dreaming of making a living out of cycling for ever since they chose to become cyclists.
They lived their dreams but though they're still young they've already come to the conclusion that it's better to quit and go studying again to make a proper living (probably less paid as well) out of something less interesting.
What have they found or not found in cycling that's led them to that conclusion ?

Yes, that. I'm following him on twitter and is English is even worst than mine, to put it in a charitable way. Quite surprising since he seems to speak it quite well (orally) on TV.

On an unrelated note, Sojasun is folding. It could be guessed for a while, but it's almost official now.
