They don't owe you anything, nor the other way round, so why should you care about riders' nationalities ?
Really, I have no complex or don't feel I can patronize people of X or Y nationality because their cyclist are better or worse than those from my home country.
I don't care about nationalities either, but I do care about a lot of Belgians simply because I read a lot more about them than about others. (follow Belgian media mostly). |

Nothing?
What do you mean?
I just meant that he was right to be jealous, but come on, I was just kidding

Belgium's 3rd in Procyclingstats's U23 Nations ranking BTW, behind the Netherlands and France.

Belgians complaining about a lack of talented cyclists from their country. Really
Over the past few years there's been Gilbert, Boonen, Vandenbroeck, Vansummeren, Vanmarcke, Degendt, Vanavermaet, Vanendert, Devolder, Hoste to name a few. That's quite a good mixture of talent and results. |

Nice win for Lopez, well deserved, especially after him being a class act in early season.
But WTF for some other results! Impey becoming a beast on all terrains. Bakelants Tour win is definitely giving a guy new wings as well.
Dumuolin riding like possessed. And Nick Nuyens back from injuries among many others.
Great bit of racing it seems. Gotta watch highlights later.

Ah nevermind. This is probably another case of readthefirstlineofmysignature.
With all the Dutch, German, French, Colombian etc. U23-talents I hear about the last time I had the feeling that Belgians might no longer be part of the cycling worldtop in a few years, which I wouldn't like. Please note that also cheer for foreign riders, and that I would keep interested in cycling even if there wouldn't be a single rider that happens to chare the same nationality as I. That "jealousy" I was talking about was more like an overexaggeration as joke, and offcourse I don't mind Dumoulin and Kelderman being succesfull.
I probably made a fool of myself, especially to those who don't have any chauvinism at all and don't understand why I look worried over such a non-event (I'm not even worried, just in case someone thought so). So I offer my apologies for my ignorence and my miscommunication. Maybe I should use these smileys more often.

i think 2 minutes, he has no chance.
I wish they'd made Kelderman leader from the start, you could've seen it coming that Boom wouldn't survive La Redoute |

I hope it turns out to be a duel between Dumoulin and Stybar on the Muur but OPQS have such a strong team and Chavanel is only 49 seconds behind.
Their tactic of waiting for Chavanel makes sense now. They can send him early with Steegmans and Terpstra

Stage 7 - Tienen to Geraardsbergen (208KM)
After a massive alteration to the General Classification yesterday, with Tom Dumoulin (Argos-Shimano) becoming the new overall race leader. The Eneco Tour concludes for 2013 with another gruelling slog through the terrain surrounding the city of Brussels. With the General Classification undecided, and a difficult hill parcours, there should be some fireworks.
With seven registered climbs and multiple ascents of the Muur van Geraardsbergen, the Bosberg, and the Denderoordberg. Stage Seven of the 2013 Eneco Tour shall follows a similar formula to yesterday's Stage Six. As the peloton complete three different laps of the surround area, before finishing on the Muur van Geraardsbergen. With a grand total of eleven registered climbs and at a length of 208km, the parcours should only the strongest at the forefront of the racing.
The Muur van Geraardsbergen may not be the hardest climb in terms of length. However, the fact the finish is preceded by 208km and ten tiring climbs should boost the difficulty factor. Once again there should be some fatigued legs sprinting for the line due to the nature of the parcours. With Stage Seven's finish both short and sharp it should arguably once again suit the puncheurs.
Whilst there is the opportunity for the breakaway to snatch the limelight and the stage victory. The tightness of the General Classification could see several contenders for the overall race victory eyeing off the stage victory and bonus seconds which come with it. The bonuses seconds at the finishing line could prove vital to determining who eventually wins the 2013 Eneco Tour.
With several potential stage contenders losing time in the General Classification yesterday during Stage Six. There is the possibility we could two races happening at the same time within one selective group, as General Classification contenders and stage victory hopefuls battle it out with their separate plans. With Philippe Gilbert now arguably too far back to redeem his chances of overall victory in the Eneco Tour, perhaps he will focus on the stage victory today, form permitting.
With several different tactical situations liable to be in play during Stage Seven, it is hard to choose a favourite for the stage victory. We could see someone attack from the bunch and cycle away to victory. Or alternatively, we may see a very selective bunch reach the finishing line to contest a potentially vital sprint, if no one can break free. The one thing we can be sure about is that whoever wants to claims the overall race victory will have to be brave, strong, and constantly aware of the tactical situation on the road.
Omega Pharma-Quickstep and Orica-GreenEDGE will have the luxury of having two riders within the Top 10 of the General Classification. The ability to force the other General Classification contenders to chase by launching attacks with their secondary riders gives these two teams a tactical option and potential advantage. With some luck and an uncoordinated chase effort behind, there is the possibility that someone like Sylvain Chavanel (Omega Pharma-Quickstep) could leap frog up the overall standings.
With only Stybar within striking distance via bonus time seconds, but reliant on Dumoulin not gaining any bonus second either. General consensus says that Stage Seven should see the contenders for the overall race victory attacking before any potential bunch sprint for the line. The situation does seem set up for someone down the General Classification to profit off the work of others and claim the stage victory. However, that is only if someone is strong enough on the day to first follow the General Classification contenders, and then follow or construct the winning move.
Will Tom Dumoulin manage to keep a hold of the white Leader's Jersey? Or will Omega Pharma-Quickstep strike with Chavanel or Stybar to steal the limelight on the final of racing? Though Argos-Shimano and Omega Pharma-Quickstep will have to be weary of the likes of Radioshack-Leopard, Orica-GreenEDGE, and Astana.
Can someone outside of contention for the overall race victory piggyback off the efforts of others to claim the stage victory? |

Hoping Dumoulin can hang on obviously, but it would also be nice seeing Westra remaining this high or even higher. Good to see these previews back

Anybody an idea how well Dumoulin can ride on cobbles? He didn't ride any cobble classics this year so I don't really have a good reference point.

Do we need a reference point? Contador last year was 8th.
Boogerd as once 3rd on top of the Muur, not being any good on cobbles otherwise. Anyone who can do well on hills can do well on Flandriens hills.
Roubaix is something else tho |
