Degenkolb is so shit.
I thought he was really overrated for this race. Give him a few years more experience on this terrain and he might be able to make it to the end in the lead group.
It's rather a form issue, or at least I hope that suffices as sole explanation.
Not that I expected him to win it, but this group shouldn't be too strong for him.

Why do I get the feeling that nearly every rider in the world has at one point won the U23-edition of P-R?
I have that feeling. Paulo Martins keeps saying and repeting it.
Same here with Kaggestad and Paasche.
The papers sent to the commentators with the race information, stats, interesting things to talk about, etc, are the same ones for every country's eurosport commentators. They're just translated from french before.
EDIT: When a commentator is struggling for anything to say, he points at a random bullet point on the paper that he hasn't crossed out yet and reads it. Instant talk.
Not Eurosport, TV2. Johan Kaggestad said in an interview he start preparing for the Tour months in advance Googling every rider, city, mountain, farm, etc. that they are going to be near. The same goes for races such as P-R. His office is filled up with binders full of information on rider, towns and such.
They spent 15 minutes of a Tour-stage talking about what type of cows the nearby farm had! It's was magical.

Langeveld, Wynants, Vandenburgh and Gaudin making a move. Clever from Langeveld, who could pull it off like this for sure.

It appears as if there are three groups:
Cancellara's leading group
A second group with Chavanel, Kristoff, Haussler and some others
Then Hushovd / EBH
