That was a brilliant finish. Good to see the break winning this ahead of the peloton, which finished just 1s later.
Funny to see Eisel sprinting better than Cavendish.

Eisel beat Cav to win the bunch sprint
Cant read much into that really though, I dont think Cav would have gone as early as he did if not for desperately trying to catch the break.
All riders given the same time

Pretty dumb to think that Cav will give a damn about 4th place

Eisel beats Cavendish in the sprint, that's nice
Eisel is definitely Sky's leader here, said so in the interviews he'd like to win here and it's his goal along the classics. So no big surprise there. Shaping up to be a nice race.

According to Haussler the wind is supposed to be far less in the next stages...So I hope this won`t come true as it would be normal sprint stages otherwise... |

I always really enjoy Qatar because there just aren't many races like it at all (World Ports Classic is the only other televised race which is based on the wind) and so if there is no wind then that's just going to suck completely.

It's only a forecast prediction. And wind can be quite tricky to predict few days in advance
I hope there will be wind, makes this race very exciting indeed. If there is, it will be hard to look past Eisel / Cancellera for GC. If it's stays at lower levels, Cav should be the favourite.

Looking at the win forecast (yes I did actually go and look haha) Tomorrows wind is the same as todays around 20mph still wind gusts around the same, then after that it's down to 4mph to nothing for the next 4 days. |

Great stage result for FDJ even though it`s only 2/7 in the GC. Nice GC win for Hivert. He might be important for Sojasun this year.

Seems FDJ was playing on easy.
It's Tobias Ludvigsson by the way. Not Fredrik. |

Blame CQ
On other hand, Modolo crashed in Qatar today. No info so far if he had broken anything, sucks... ; / At least he did finish the stage.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that Pozzo's best TT result ever? Even in a hilly TT that's got to be a super result for him.

He rarely races some, but yeah, his best result before was 13th in Trentino 2011.

If it's the same course as last year, it's more of a mountain time trial than anything...which would just change "WTF Pozzovivo" to "WTF Veuchelen"

Preety much, it was flat for some part and ended on a hill. So indeed, no big surprise there to see climbers doing well.
