Our next stop is one the sponsor wants us to race: the Tour de Luxembourg. As being the smallest country of the Benelux, Luxembourg brings us 2 members of the team: Laurent Didier and Andy Schleck. Of course Didier is present in this race, but Schleck will race the Dauphiné on his way to the TDF.

A 3.5km prologue, completely flat.
Skil's Tom Veelers has set the fastest time, when Gert Steegmans is 3 seconds faster: 6'56.
Tom Dumoulin rides a great prologue. He sets the 3rd time so far, '7 behind Steegmans.
Lieuwe Westra is one of the favourites to win this prologue. But in the end, he is one second slower than Steegmans.
Only one rider left, and he´s probably THE favourite to win it. And Garmin / Cervélo´s David Zabriskie fulfills the expectations! New best time in 6´53.

Stage 2, 193km from Luxembourg to Bascharage, with 2 KOTM/sprints.
Wilco Kelderman wants to wear the polkadot jersey tomorrow, so he tries to collect some KOTM-points. He does a great job, by winning both sprints.
The peloton is still together when it approaches the only Intermediate sprint. Lieuwe Westra surprises his main opponents for the GC (Zabriskie & Steegmans) and attacks a few kilometres before the IS. He collects the points and also 6 seconds!
In the streets of Bascharage, the sprint trains are formed. Monster Energy - Ford and Radio Shack are in the lead.
1km to go. Robbie McEwen is a great leadout for Manuel Cardoso, and teaks the lead. Gert Steegmans is on the other side of the road with Pim Ligthart between them.
400 metres to go: Cardoso leads in the middle, Anthony Geslin (FDJ) comes with high speed on tje left side of the road and on the right side come Leonardo Duque (Cofidis) and Landbouwkrediets Bobbie Traksel. Pim Ligthart still has a good position in the middle of the road.
Cardoso stays up front and takes the win for the Radio Shack. Duque gets 2nd and Geslin 3rd. Pim Ligthart gets a good 5th place.
Results: the organisation is pretty creative and holds the ceremony in the middle of a flower field

Word from the DS: 2 good things: Kelderman getting the KOTM-jersey and Westra gaining 6 bonus seconds. Strange to see that the organisation gave bonus seconds in the prologue...... And another good thing: Ligthart finishing in 5th with sprinters as McEwen, Cardoso, Steegmans and Ciolek. Good job!

The 3rd stage is from Schifflange to Differdange ans is 200km long. In Differdange, the riders have to ride a circuit 3 times, with in it the climb of the Col de L'Europe.
The team works hard that Kelderman can collect the KOTM-points on today's first climb. Because of the high pace, only 51 riders are present up front!
After that KOTM-sprint, and where Kelderman assured himself of keeping the KOTM-lead after this stage, Topsport Vlaanderen's Geert Steurs escapes. Het gets a maximum lead of 6 minutes. Mark McNally (An Post) tries to follow him but doesn't succeed. While climbing the Col de L'Europe for the first time (23km to go), Steurs still has a lead of 5 minutes!
In the last climb, it's Sky's Simon Gerrans who attacks out of the chasing group and gets a gap. With 6km to go, Steurs still leads by '47.
With only 1600metres to go, Gerrans joins Steurs. 30 seconds behind them come 4 other riders: Staf Scheirlinckx (Veranda's WIllems), Leonardo Duque (Cofidis), Bobbie Traksel (Landbouwkrediet) and Lieuwe Westra (Monster).
Gerrans has more energy left and beats Steurs in the sprint. But out of nowhere comes Leonardo Duque! The Colombian Gilbert (well, a little bit less good) makes up more than 20 seconds in the last km and surprises Aussie Gerrans, who already has started celebrating! (The 3 Quick Step-riders are 1 lap behind).
Bobbie Traksel becomes best Dutch rider in 4th, Westra finishes in 5th. The riders from place 6 to 19 with Ligthart in 12th place) are 100m back, but somehow get the same time as the winner, ans because of this Zabriskie stays in the lead.

Word from the DS: Again a good stage for us. It came close, but Kelderman stays in the lead of the KOTM-rankings. Westra took a good 5th place and is in 3rd place in the GC.
Stage 4: 185km from Eschweiler to Roost, with 2 categorized clims, the Mont St.-Nicolas & the Um Knupp.
Wilco Kelderman manages to be present in the BOTD. Together with Pieter Serry (Topsport), Mitchell Docker (Skil), Kjell Carlström (Sky), Kevin Peeters & Reinier Honig (Landbouwkrediet), Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) & Fumiyuki Beppu (Radio Shack), he gets a maximum advantage of 9 minutes. Of course Kelderman wins both KOTM-sprints, so he's secured of the KOTM-jersey of the Tour de Luxembourg!

IS: 1. Kelderman, 2. Beppu, 3. Carlström. lead 6'29
One lap of 9km to go on the circuit in Roost. The lead is still 3'56, which means that Kelderman is still in virtual yellow (he's 3'49 back). It will be very difficult to hold on to that!
Knowing that he had no chance in the sprint against guys like Honig and Docker, Kelderman sets a high pace and tries to drop some others in the short climb 2.5km before the finish. Unfortunately he doesn't succeed in it and it is a sprint with 8 man. Mitchell Docker is the strongest and takes his first win of the season. Pinot gets 2nd, Honig 3rd and Kelderman 4th (the guys in the middle are a lap behind).
Then the waiting starts for the peloton to finish. Ligthart wins the sprint with 2'55 back, so no yellow jersey for Kelderman.

But when the gap to the peloton was over 5 minutes with only 20km to go, he suddenly had a chance for the GC. Too bad he couldn't make it. Kelderman did an excellent job today, we are really happy with his riding!

Can anyone tell me how to make the names of the Monster-riders in the standings bold? I know how to do it with the ones to be seen in the soiler, but for the top 10 I don't know how to do it. I copy the exported results (so from an excel file, try to make my riders bold, and use the tables-button of the buttons below the message field to make it table-form 100%. But than only the number on the left gets bold, the rest stays normal..
How to do it? Or how to color the names of my riders?

Haha, yes, never should have done it Thanks a lot for your comment , although I think there are better stories (e.g. Tsmoha's Dark Dog, Roturn's Garmin, and Valverde's Veilleux and Cunego's Nerz), but I'll try hard to make this one work and keep inproving it.

You're on a good way with your story. I maybe won't comment that often, but I'll follow! And yes, I guess "hat off" is the correct phrase
