Benitez doing some great signings...
Ilicic, Higuain, Albiol, Callejon and Reina. Quality signings. Don't follow Italian league but could be favorites for the title.
Although Juventus has done some great signings themselves lately too.

Ilicic is going to la Viola, not to Napoli.
I hope Mertens gets some playing time in Napoli. I know him from way back, saw him playing for the first time when he was 14
Edit: I think Juventus are still the favourites to win Scudetto this year, wouldn't underestimate Milan either.
Edit2: And I'm hoping Fiorentina (my favourite team  ) can compete for top 3 but it will be a hard task. Don't like any of the new signins (Ambrosini, Joaquin, Gomez) but Ljajic is staying so we can already be happy with the summer. Losing both Jovetic and Ljajic would have had really bad consequences imo)

You don't like Gomez and just Ljajic staying to you are happy with the transfer season?
Gomez is just a bargain and makes you wondering why are the Premier League clubs so blind and dumb towards big name players giving them 500 million whilst ignoring the other top players.
Gomez hasn't got a big name, but I guess Gomez is one of the Top 5 goalscorers in the world.

The best signing for Fiorentina isn't Mario Gomez, but getting Giuseppe Rossi injury free and to top condition.
He's already scoring goals in friendly games this summer. Before his injury he was brilliant in the Spanish League and if he comes back he will be great for Fiorentina and the Italian national team next year at the World Cup. |

Fiorentina has thrived by finding players from the Balkan who turn out to be studs. (How they made fools off Man City in the Nastasic - Savic deal ) Missing out on Markovic was a blow but they could have gotten young players that are equally good as Ambrosini or Joaquin (both would have been toptransfers if this was 2005).
For Gomez, I am convinced he is a great player who will always get his goals but am not so sure he will be a good fit in an Italian team and the Seria A. Premier league would be much better fit for him imo.
Much will depend on how Rossi plays

Though the Netherlands didn't really take it seriously, otherwise obviously they'd win
