Maybe being former teammates, they're still on good terms Pfft

Cav is amazing. He can win with all sorts of different situations, with different sorts of leadout and in different types of sprints. Today's was a bit different, but Cav is not only the best sprinter of our generation, he's one of the most versatile. Agreed?

+1 Wink

Depends on what you mean by versatile. He can win just about any style of sprint, but that's because of pure speed more than anything. His win percentage drops off mightily when he isn't setup properly, but he can still manage to take a win or two (that few months in 09 when he could suddenly climb and won MSR excepted). When I think of a versatile sprinter I think of a Zabel or Freire (to name two recent ones, De Vlaeminck also comes to mind), I think of someone who has the ability to ride in any terrain other than the high mountains and put themselves in a position to win, and also someone who can win with a perfect leadout, who can hijack a perfect leadout, win with a strong kick out of chaos, etc. It doesn't really matter to them how it happens, but if they are in the front ranks with 200m to go, they've got a fantastic chance of winning. I'm not sure that's Cav. Cav certainly has a chance, but Greipel kicking his ass a couple times in the Tour when Cav was perfectly positioned on his wheel tells me Cav really, really prefers a train.
