Howard wins the 2nd stage of Tour of Britain. Cavendish is 2nd and 3rd is Boy Van Poppel. Van Poppel is the new leader.

ToB was Howard, Cavendish, Van Poppel.
Wiggins took a rather short turn leaving Rowe on the front a little early. Cav dropped back to follow the wheels but got a bit boxed and couldn't come past Howard. Can't blame Wiggo for being a little out of shape (if that's what it was) after finally letting his hair down after the Olympics
Good win for Howard who was 2nd string for O-G!
*Edit - looking at it again Cav should have had time to come through but didn't have it today and apparently said as much at the finish line.

A shame that ToB can't get top 10 quickly out..
Surprised me a lot that Cav couldn't get around Howard. Rather poor.

Don't know if this has been mentioned but Farrar didn't start yesterday's stage, due to an concussion he suffered in the crash on the first stage. |

For once Cavendish actually congratulated someone for beating him in a sprint rather than blame others |

Brilliant lead-out by Rowe. Quite impressive end of the year for Luke And Cav did the job as the end, as we expect from him - with ease.

Maybe being former teammates, they're still on good terms
Cav is amazing. He can win with all sorts of different situations, with different sorts of leadout and in different types of sprints. Today's was a bit different, but Cav is not only the best sprinter of our generation, he's one of the most versatile. Agreed?
