It's all about the Red Wings next year. We just need to use out cap space to bolster our D and we'll be right in the thick things. That being said, Crosby and Malkin health, playing together at the level they're at right now is a scary proposition for any team that has to play them. Still, Go Wings!
Pittsburgh will be scary good next year if Crosby plays! Staal for Sutter was such a steal! I see Sutter as nearly as good a player! He's quicker and I think one of the more underrated two way players in the game! I forget what else they got, but basically that there would have almost been a fair trade! (Staal is quite over-rated). So good job Pittsburgh. Opened up a lot of Cap space too, for Parise or Suter.
I loved NHL a couple years ago, and my team were the Sharks. I remember and awesome series against the Avs, were an own goal in the last 30 seconds gave the Avs a win after Sharks had like 40 more shots. Good times.
Anyway, I kinda lost interest when we traded Devin Setoguchi and Dany Heatley. How are they going?

Actually, e5 has a good chance of turning up being true. Mostly because it has already been announced by someone who's actually legit.
e1: Eklund made it up
e2: Eklund made it up
e3: Eklund made it up
e4: Eklund made it up
e5: Eklund reposted the tweet breaking the trade
I'm not even sorry for the off-topic \o/
uhm, no.
e5 is still made up, the difference is it generates views.
Or have you not realized that he has a "Big star to huge market (e5)" every single friday evening so that gullible people will be checking his site all weekend long?
I've only gone to his website like 2 times but it's hard no to notice patterns in the crap he puts up. I've always been the impression those rumors are usually listed as e4 in the forums I find them in.
There's no doubt everyone on that website knows jack squat. But Eklund and Jaeckel are particularly annoying.

Carolina won't take all the Staals, we still have one!

It might be old news but since nobody has brought it up yet I will.
Nick Lidstrom retires after 20 seasons, all with the Red Wings. Including 4 Stanley Cups, 7 Norris Trophies, Conn Smythe Trophy Winner (Playoff MVP), and has never missed the playoffs. Certainly has to be Hall of Fame career.

Then they had the nerve to say that they didn't touch the core, which I was pretty sure was Callahan, Dubinsky, Staal and Girardi.
My biggest question: Why!!!!!?????
Brian Boyle, Derek Stepan, Brad Richards, Chris Kreider, They had an abundance of Centres and Torts didn't like him I dont think.
Anisimov is also decent, but again doesn't really suit New York all that well.
I think the trade really suits the Blue Shirts. And Columbus gets another Russian who looks destined for a life in the KHL. Tim Erixons a decent pick up though, and Dubinsky will add to the backbone in Columbus although they have a long way to go.
Thank you Nick Lidstrom, you brought me so much great memories and happines. My 2nd most favourite player of all time behind Steve Yzerman. Iirc i read somewhere he will continue as a scout for Wings? He could bring more talented Swedes.
Nicklas was a legend.
With Orr and Bourque the best defenders ever.
Go Wings!

Boyle could have been trade bait. Anisomovv brings a decent scoring prescense.
My point is that if they left there team exactly the same way as last year, how could it hurt? You twist a few games a little and thy're in the finals. They don't need Rick Nash.

There really isn't room for Dubinsky. He can be a 1st or 2nd line Center. Boyle is 3rd or 4th. And Rick Nash will more than make up for the "scoring presence" lost by Anisimov.
Dubinsky and the 1st Round pick (which if everything goes to plan will be one of the last in the draft) are really the only high value items in the trade and in return you get the over-rated Rick Nash He only gets a few more points a season than Dubinsky, be the hope is that when surrounded by good players he will be great.
The more I think about this trade, the more I think Colombus won it.
However, Dubinsky was really not needed by NY.
