Valverde will be pissed tonight. Own mistake.
he is in amazing shape.
Bala was the only one pulling and also attacking before Van Aert and Bardet got away. He just tried it a bit too early. (And also his name is probably too big so Kwiatek and Sagan would never let him go)

Yep to strong rider problems..Valverde, Sagan now.
Cancellara missed few Roubaix wins with that. |

Oh Tiesj looked so relieved in that finale, he really enjoyed the last hundred meters. Just an amazing performance in a stand-out edition of Strade Bianche. I think this was the single best performance in Strade Bianche to date. At least I can't think of a better one.
Chapeau to Bardet, magnificiently holding up in some harsh conditions against puncheurs, classic specialists and hardmen. He has climbed really well today and was eager to put in the work. Van Aert obv with a great podium too, showing that in a few years he'll likely be a hot contender for all classics. In the end I guess the distance got to him. That's still the difference between road and cross.
Bala with a nice finish in 4th. Well done. I am excited for all the things he can do this year. He looks as good as last year. What racing schedule is planned for him. Will he race small spanish races and then the WT ones or does he go to P-N or Tirreno?

This is a race that elevates the standards of one-day races so much. It was amazing, explosive, unpredictable, extraordinaire, and had agressive and (for some) unexpected protagonists.. This is what cycling is all about
I absolutely love Bardet racing, and my love for Wout is increasing dramatically too, but I am not at all disappointed as Tiesj himself is someone I love to watch race, from the Flandres cobbles to the French mountains, this kid (yes kid) is going places, Chapeau!

Benoot with the hammer now, damn Tiejs has his breakthrough finally. Alak with a heartache?
Tiesj, God of Hammers! What a race from him to get his deserved first pro win. Also Bardet with some good racing and of course Wout who podiumed a WT classic. Where are his limits?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Definitely not P-N, as Movistar's lineup suggests Soler or Carapaz will be the leader.

Landa leads Movistar at TA and no Valverde in the latest startlist there either. I would expect him to be at either Catalunya or Pais Vasco for sure.
EDIT: Insane startlist at TA btw!

PCS is your best friend
Valverde will only ride Catalunya ahead of the Ardennes. The way he is riding, it almost seems like a total given he wins there - his biggest competitor might be Quintana. |
