[PT] Aker - MOT | 2024
Fabianski
You definitely had a fantastic year, finishing in the Top 5 right after promoting! Three win goals was definitely an ambitious goal, but I guess the money you got from that selection last transfers came in pretty handy Smile Even if you might have less budget this year, that shouldn't hurt too much, given the great core you have in place now Smile

Aker - MOT Availability

Transfer season is right around the corner, and it's only appropriate that we announce our first thoughts on our riders availability. Having said that, the transfer season is always full of surprises. If you see no next to a rider you see in your own try, feel free to try your luck and send us a message Smile

Well, as usual when Aker - MOT approach transfer season, we're open for a lot of things to happen. This year is not different at all, with more yes/maybe than no's next to our riders.

Of the riders we see as potential sales, the most interesting ones we assume to be Mohoric, last season's Amstel Gold Race winner, Amezawa, a solid puncheur/climber with great backup stats, Lammertink, the diesel time trialist, and Anderberg, our strong and young cobbler.

Regarding the latter, we either see ourselves selling him this transfer season, or trying to build him up for the future to take over as our leader when Wisniowski grows even older. It's a make or break transfer season for Anderberg!
For Mohoric, we're in a similar position. No need to sell, but we hope he can be interesting for teams, so that we can work together on a potential deal, be it money, rider trades or something in between. The same goes for Amezawa, who we see as a potential leader both in the CT and in the PCT, or he will continue hunting the odd great result on the Pro Tour.

During transfer season, we'll be available of course on the forum, be it in our transfers thread, via PM or our HQ, but also on Skype. Looking forward to see you there!

Hmm... Even more intriguing availabilities, will definitely need to prioritize my targets Pfft
One of them could be a great (and younger) alternative to Masnada, one might make me rethink my take on "no cobbles leader this year", and one or two would be amazing for one of my main focus areas - I guess we'll be chatting Wink

SotD
Some very interesting riders here. Anderberg will be rather high on my list as he fit's perfectly with my raceplanning, and supplement the setup around Stavrakakis absolutely brilliant. So would be a fun matchup for a couple of races including TTT's Smile

Also Amezawa and Lammertink are both very interesting Smile

Will be interesting to see what you plan on doing this season.

I can only echo SotD that there are some very interesting riders for my plans on your list, which is not surprising given that those are some quality riders and apparently ELCO and Bralirwa have made very similar race choices Smile I'll be in touch come transfers!

Some very very interesting names there, a couple I have professed my admiration of before Wink

Going through my shortlist: No, No, No, Maybe.

Hoped for a different availability list but still opens some ideas that can be discussed.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Unlikely that any of these folks would be able to head my way, but you're showing me the future of where things could be established with long-term success!

The Preidler hot potato game goes on - if transferred to/signed with a different team, it will be his 5th team in 5 seasons.

Fabianski: Definitely looking forward to hear from you! You've also got a couple of riders I'll be interested in, the conversations should definitely be interesting Smile

SotD: Curious to hear what you have in mind. Of those three, Amezawa is the likeliest to leave, while Anderberg and Lammertink will probably need "creative" deals/trades, I think.

cunego59: Very interesting, because having seen your availability post, there could definitely be possible to find a solution both are happy with, as we're interested in two particular riders at Bralirwa.

jandal7: I'm sure we have the annual chat! Pfft

jaxika: Not sure I completely understood that message, but I'm still looking forward to talking come Friday and the weekend.

knockout: Always appreciate the chats and discussions with you, be it regarding specific riders in our teams or in general. Looking forward to hear what you might have in mind!

seancoll: Thank you for your very nice words!

bbl: We shall see. It really is make or break, as his current stats aren't really well utilized in the PT, which means we either train him or sell him, I guess Sad

ivaneurope: Yeah, will be interesting to see where he goes, as I think his wage combined with his stats for one final very good season should make him a good rider for several teams.

Well, I am sort of good at "creative" - But let's see. I'll definately give you a chat once we get started. I'm probably mostly a selling part in the start, but could change towards a more swapping part later if I get where I hope to get Smile

Then we should definitely talk about that Smile I'm curious who one or two of those riders might be!

If you're talking about my U25 eligible TTers, you should pair up with SotD, maybe the two of you will be more convincing than one alone Pfft

I'm fine with taking one and ember the other. With your jersey already red, no one will notice the hit'n'run before it's too late.

Aker - MOT 2023

The team is ready to go, after what turned to be a surprisingly busy transfer period. All in all, there has been major changes to the team, but not among the captains of the team, as the team rather focused on rebuilding the domestique department. In total, 7 riders were bought or loaned in, while 10 riders were sold or traded. We also signed 10 riders from the FA market, giving us a team of 25 riders starting the 2023 season.

I must admit we didn't plan for such a transfer season. That's shown in our PTHC band selection, as we're going to do the TT/TTT band, and that's after a transfer season where we ended up selling all pieces of our TTT setup, without replacing any of them. That's very bad planning on our part, but we figured we had to do it, seeing how many PT teams invested quite heavily in their TTT setups.

Hampus Anderberg78646976777677786073706276
Hampus Anderberg78646976777677806073706276

The major motivation for selling our TTT setup, was to train Hampus Anderberg to become an even stronger cobbler. We think he has the perfect backup and energy stats for a cobbler, despite his relatively poor sprint, making him a natural rider to train. Now we got the chance, and we're very happy to pull it off. Obviously, the long term planning of the team will see Anderberg lead the team on the cobbles when Wisniowski gets older.

Takeaki Amezawa68797764767880606875726960

Another effect of all the TTT setup selling, was that we even got money to train Amezawa. His old stats weren't quite cutting it in the Pro Tour, and we hope we've now given him the tools to be a much better scorer in most difficult races compared to last season.

In addition to the two riders mentioned, Soren Kragh gets a minor buff in his mountain abilities, and the same goes for FA signing Bolor-Erdene, who is now a slightly, slightly better sprinter.

There it is. The team for 2023. We're happy having strengthened us on the climbs. No proper PT leader, but we hope the combination of Amezawa, Preidler, Van Poucke, Romand and Johannessen can outscore what might be expected of them purely looking at their mountain stats.

For the hills, obviously Mohoric is our leader. We're slightly worried of his support, but hope Gabburo and Conti, together with whoever of those mentioned climber we decide to send to a hilly race, can do what's needed for our Slovenian star.

The cobbles will see Wisniowski lead the line another year. Anderberg as his wingman can hopefully be more than just that with his training, but we don't expect it quite yet. Though, having seen the training done by our Scandinavian friends at Carlsberg, and we're assuming something is happening in Grieg's camp as well, Wisniowski will be even more tested than last year.

For the sprints, we've upgraded heavily, but at the same time not. Last year we loaned Dainese, who had a sensational season. This year we've brought in Wouters, Prasad and Zhao to do our sprinting in stage races. They will get few opportunities in the flat classics, as we trust Kragh for those, often combined with Wisniowski. Hopefully such a duo can give us consistent results in the flat classics, eventhough we gamble going without a sprinter in most of them.

Oh yes. Brilliant training! Smile

Amezawa is just amazing at this state. I'm also very much in awe of that Anderberg (Stavrakakis clone) training. An absolute beast. I do somewhat think that he needs a boost in SPR to be really relevant.

Guess getting Amezawa now becomes even harder Pfft Anderberg training was always on the cards once he stayed I guess.

Absolutely love both of those riders getting trained, two of my fave young leaders on other teams - and both in the PT so less likely to bother me Pfft
