Very convincingly I must add, he annihilated Valv in that sprint. He might have been tired after the early break.
Sooo looking forward to the 3 stage races, we get to see every one of the big stars, apart from Quintana and Landa maybe. |

Fedi wins solo in Laigueglia after a late attack.
The Clasica Almeria got massively shortened because of the weather. Howard won the 21km race.
Bakelants wins the last stage in La Méditerranéenne. Grivko wins the GC.

Already back to winning ways now at IAM even if it's just sort of a City Crit at this length, but Howard and the team must be quite pleased with his performances so far.

Great win by Fedi.
Also nice to see Howard get some freedom.
Also nice stage win by Bakelants and overall win for Grivko. |

Porte vs Nibali at Oman, Green Mountain going to be some sweet action and I hope I can catch it live on some stream if it's televised. Rui Costa, Bardet and Danny Martin also featured.
In Andalucia we'll see Valverde probably toying with the other GT prospects. Van Garderen, Mochema, Majka & Kreuziger. So, solid line-up but could also possibly turn into a rather dull affair. I'll tune in possibly for Stage 5 tho.
Lastly, Contador returns to racing at Algarve. He'll face Kwiatek who may or may not get a beat-down at Alto da Fóia by Pistolero, Purito and Aru. Easily the most exciting line-up with the champion finally returning to racing since Tour last year, and Benoot, Boonen, Pinot and Cance extending this prestigious startlist. Plus a ton of portuguese obscure riders. Why this race is not televised is truly a puzzle to me.
It'll be a good week for Other Race Thread.

It'll be a good week for Other Race Thread. Don't know if Nibali will be fit enough to win in Oman.Hoping to see Bardet and Nibali do a great performance.
Apparently they are going further up the mountain this year.
And Contador will show us if he will be mediocre or brilliant this season in Algarve.Don't think Purito will be on the form at this time of the year.(He is usually not on good form this part of the year).I think Zakarin is also riding.Pinot is also riding.Henao,Thomas and Rosa(one of my favourites already),Gesink, M.A.Lopez and Arredondo are also riding.
Hoping to see Contador,Rosa,Aru,Rodriguez,Gesink,M.A.Lopez,Arredondo and Pinot fly.
Valverde to beat the others on Andalucia as you said.Hoping that Kreuziger does a good performance by the way. |

Conta has done his homework in winter tho, for example look at his body on his instagram and twitter page, so I'm quite hopeful it'll work out for him.

Porte btw. the big surprise. As only "GC contender" he lost more than 3min today.
Impressive by Bardet here. Ag2r in a good position as also Pozzovivo made it. Same for Astana with Nibali/Fuglsang.
Wonder what BMC is doing now. Try to attack with Porte for a Green Mountain stage win? Or go all in for Van Avermaet. Back in 2011 he actually was 6th on top there...with Boasson Hagen in 2nd. So possibly quite an easy ridden version back then. |

I was actually leaning towards a Boasson Hagen win here. He's been in great form.
I don't think it'll be easy for Porte even if BMC plan to go for the win on Green Mountain with the field that's riding here. They might as well try their best to get Van Avermaet a podium or better. Let Porte have the free role maybe...

Just a bad day for Porte or what did happen? This is strange.
So, Jungels huh.. it's about time he gets to collect the fruits. I look forward to see how he develops more this season. It also goes to show that whilst talents often times blossom at Etixx (Alaphilippe, Kwiatek recently etc), Trek is a bit of a sandpit for them. Or, presumably it is too early to say that yet, since Jungels last win according to PCS was also in February last year, so this could just be form.
I figure he has great potential for one week stage races, what about GTs?

Porte having a random bad day is nothing new to me.
