Who says that this is a elimination leg? There is a chance that none team gets eliminated on the first leg...
Well, I know, but in the TV-show that rarely happens in the first round. And anyway, we don't want to rely on that
Mre will probably be speed bumping you

If you haven't noticed by now the first leg was been about traveling around
the friendly confines of PCM.Daily. This Detour explores one of the
most intriguing features on the website, the man-game.
In order to complete this Detour PM me back with the name of the reporter
that has posted the most stage reports this season,
along with how many reports he has done so far.
Time penalties will occur for the following:
1. Incorrect reporter (+60 minutes)
2. Incorrect # of reports (+1 minute for the # difference off)
For example if the right answer is 5 and you said 2 or 8. You get +3 minutes.
If he just so happens to post a report when this challenge is running
I'll take both answers if you include his new report or not.
The correct reporter was fellow racer roturn.
There was little confusion as to how many reports due to Giro Stages 11 & 12 posting so I accepted correct answers between 88-90 reports.
If you haven't noticed by now the first leg was been about traveling around
the friendly confines of PCM.Daily. This Detour explores one of the
most beloved features on the website, the PCM stories.
In order to complete this Detour you have to PM me back with the name of the story writer that has the story with the most pages in Daily history, along with how many combined pages there are between all 4 of the One-Rider Story of the Year stories as awarded by the Daily yearly awards.
Time penalties will occur for the following:
1. Incorrect story writer (+60 minutes)
2. Incorrect # of pages (+1 minute for the # difference off)
For example if the right answer is 10 and you said 5 or 15. You get +5 minutes.
The most pages in a story is 257 by dienblad
and his epic Petronas - Monster Energy.
For the 2nd part I accept two different answers
due to the wording of the question: 275 and 304.
The first answer counts The Comeback (105) + A Tale of Two (67) + Dominik Nerz: The Next Level (67) + The Danish Puncheur (36).
The second answers adds the first season of Nerz which was 29 pages.

The MG one looked to be harder
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

I said 87 so won't lose much time. Quite a good detour from myself I think.

The first team approaches the mat, no other teams are in sight...
Congrats! As winner of the 1st Leg you have been award with the Express Pass!
This allows you to skip one Roadblock or Detour and continue racing.
This must be used before there are only 4 teams remaining.
In the next hour only one more team comes to the mat.
Within the next hour? Just 1 more team. Really spread out.
Here comes everyone! One after another they reach the mat.
Strolling in at their own pace over an hour later is...
Three teams are left. Waiting and Waiting and Waiting.
Finally! Here comes two of them. Who's going to be...
The lights have been shutoff in Cafe Pedro as we wait for the last team to arrive. After a rough, long leg they finally make it to the mat.
Depression on their faces as they know they're last.
Spoiler
Bikex and Bjartne, you are the last team to arrive.
I'm sorry to tell you but... you're going to have to work a lot harder in the next leg if you want to avoid elimination. This is a non-elimination leg.
You will have to face a Speed Bump at some point during the next leg.
No excuses now, you all know what to expect. The 1st leg is finished.
Complete results below. Rest up and see'ya tomorrow.

Booom, got that spot on
Hopefully it was enough as the story detour was definitely easier, could be done in about 2mins.
The amount of counting in MG task was frightening. Anyhow I am glad I chose it though anyway, confirms my beliefs who should be member of the year
P.S. Yay Comfortable at the end, that's how we like it.

This is a nice lead here and pretty consistent over those 3 rounds.
Nice to see all teams still in there with a nice little warm up for the Cereal Killers. |

Nice to be in top half, even with little mistake in the Detour, we were okay.

Oh, wow. Really happy now! The way you used the spoilers to build excitement was fantastic. I also loved your diagram in the end there, showing where the different teams lost time!
Now we need to really step up our game.
(One question about the speed bump though. You're stating that the team must work together in order to finish the task. Does that mean that this is a challenging task or just that the speed bump would not be possible to do alone? And if not, will we know when to expect the speed bump? I ask because of extremely different time zones within our team. Thanks in advance) |

Not really surprised that this was a non-elimination leg.
Nice to see the tasks revealed after the leg. The story one was obviously the easier one...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Happy that I got second place in the detour where the skill part is needed
If I would have been on at the right time we could have easily got Top 3. Me & Code just gotta get sorted out when we can each be online.
I knew this would be non-elimination, I just knew it, so we could get a feel for the game.
I am guessing this starts at a random time tomorrow?

Glad to win the MG Detour, even if it was more using quick mental maths than any MG insider knowledge!
Agree that the Story one was probably slightly easier, given the links that are available in the 2013 Awards forum.

Answer question time!
@All: The Story Fame Detour has a little easier but that's the luck of picking the right Detour. Although when you average out the times it was still fairly close.
Average time - Story Fame: 30.4 Minutes / Man-Game: 32.3 Minutes
@Bjartne: This upcoming Speed Bump can be completed by 1 person.
@Jesleyh: The has to do with the Air Travel which we haven't got to yet. Also how you spend your money is also a little bit tactical.
@Jseadog1: Correct.
