Shit... Why!?
Anyway, not sure it'll be popular to collaborate with Marlboro...

Race Masters Evolved - Race 1 - Silverstone - Race
Number of Laps: 30
The Favourites
We all feared it after the qualification. Mazzilionia Racing was unbeatable today here in Silverstone. Panico won the race easily, fifteen seconds in front of his teammate Costa. Surprisingly it was De Forest who took the third position. That was mainly because Antlers and Mohn Rennsport disappointed a lot. Antlers finished fifth with Schumacher and Armstrong crashed while he was leading the race. Mohn finished eighth with Clark and Rosanski had to end his race four laps before the finish. Costa made the supremacy this weekend complete to take the point for the fastest lap.
The Surprises
On the fourth position it was the Italian Ricciardo Gambino who rode a great race. Strategic he rode a great race and finished it with a very good fourth position. This is way much better than Travinski Racing expected before the race. De Forest surprised as well by taking the third position. He rode a great race and switched positions with his teammate, who finished seventh. Both Angelo Racing cars surprised as well by taking a double points finish. They may be happy with two cars in the Top-10.
The Disappointments
Both Antlers and Mohn may be disappointed after this race. They expected much more than they’ve got after this race. A sixth and eighth position, and two DNF’s, is not what they expected. That has to be better within the next three races. If they wait too long with perform, Mazzilionia will be too far to take back.
The Local Heroes
Seamus Doherty may be very happy with his sixth position. His eighth position in qualifying was good, but gaining two positions during the race is maybe even better. It’s a good performance for him in his home race. Clark actually disappointed. With a fifth start position he should’ve done better than an eighth position. When you hope for a podium this isn’t a good result. Fortunately for him he has two more races in his home country to take that podium.
The Local Teams
Both Antlers and Grove Motorsports really disappointed here. Antlers took only a fifth position and a DNF. Grove made it even worse with two DNF’s. Their first driver, Lloyd, didn’t even came through the first lap. He crashed together with Coutinho. Both drivers were immediately out of the race. Their goal for next race is to made it through the first lap. Khochaleune crashed during the race and he made sure that Grove was the only team without a car passing the finish line. And that’s no good news for the team who was the fastest during the first pre-season tests.
Expectations for next race
Mazzilionia seems to be very fast and they were unbeatable during this first race weekend. Their main contenders, Antlers and Mohn, had a lot of trouble during this weekend. They really have to improve within the next few races if they still want to have a chance on winning the title. It’s also nice to see Gambino, Raue and Jensson surprising by taking points. Hopefully we see some other surprises during the Hungarian Grand Prix, which is the next race. Angelo Racing really wants to perform there as well and they would really sign for another ninth and tenth position. Zoltan, who didn’t finish this race because of problems with his suspension, really wants to finish the race in his home country and maybe even take points. It’ll be very interesting what the second race will bring us. Hopefully we see a team or driver who can beat Mazzilionia, otherwise it could be a very boring season.
Top-3 Press Conference
Antonio Panico: “Guys, I already told you yesterday that this would happen. It’s just that we have a very good car and of course I’m just an awesome driver. I only don’t like the fact that I didn’t rode the fastest lap. I mean, couldn’t Moreno just drive one tenth slower that lap? Now I miss that one point and it could be really important for the championship. I bet that our team will be unbeatable this whole season. I don’t see another driver who’ll beat us. Just because we’re too good.”
Moreno Costa: “Well, that wasn’t a very difficult race. I’m happy with my second place and I’m also happy I rode the fastest lap. It’s been a good weekend for us and I propose to do the same in Hungary.”
Dominic De Forest: “Wow, I’m so happy with this. I didn’t expect it after qualifying, although Autumn had shown that our car has the pace for Top-3. During the race we had some luck that other cars had some trouble, but I’m sure we’ll have that during the season as well. It feels very good to be on the podium. Hopefully I can do that again this year and I’d really like to be on the podium at the French Grand Prix. I’m really going to fight for it, but first I’ll enjoy this podium and the good start of the season.”
Race Facts and Interviews
- Joe Armstrong was leading the race while he crashed. That’s a big disappointment for the Colombian driver. He could’ve taken a podium and maybe even the victory.
Joe Armstrong: “It’s very stupid to crash of the circuit when you’re leading the race. I’m really feeling ashamed and I’m disappointed as well. I feel sorry for the team who did a great job. But now I’m looking forward to the next race and hopefully I can take revenge.”
- Both Martin Lloyd and Gilberto Coutinho didn’t make it through the first lap. They’re both disappointed about that, especially it’s the first race and now they have a very bad start of the season.
Martin Lloyd: “I don’t have a good feeling about this first race. First Ounheua out qualified me, although I could live with that. But that I didn’t make it through the first lap is really stupid. Coutinho and I hit each other at Maggots and Becketts and after that we were both out of the race. After the crash I talked with him about it and we’ve cleared it up. It’s not that we were in a fight or something, but I just want that next time we both make it through the first lap. I’m now really looking forward to the Hungaroring because I see opportunities there.”
Gilberto Coutinho: “Whatever happened during the first lap was just stupid. Maggots and Becketts are fast corners and Lloyd and I hit each other there. We don’t know who’s fault it is but we’ve agreed that next race this won’t happen, at least not with both of us involved in it. It’s not a good way to start the season, especially after my good 18th place in qualifying. I hope to do better in Hungary.”
- Paul Rosanski had to retire just four laps before the end. Because it were only four laps he’s still classified in the race results.
Paul Rosanski: “This was a real disaster. This weekend was very bad for us. I was happy after the qualification with our fourth and fifth position, but now we have to do it with an eighth and seventeenth position. That’s a real shame and I’m not happy with it. I hoped to close the gap to Mazzilionia, but it seems that we first have to improve our own results before we can chase them. This is not a good start of the season and I’m disappointed. Nevertheless I’m really looking forward to the next race. I see opportunities there and hopefully we’ll have a better weekend there. Our qualifying isn’t bad, now our race results have to improve.”
- Teammates Autumn Keselowski and Dominic De Forest switched their qualifying position during the race.
Autumn Keselowski: “After my good qualification I actually expected a bit more from the race. A Top-5 finish would’ve been nice, although I started on a podium spot. A seventh position isn’t a bad way to start the season, but when you start on a third position you expect a bit more. But at least I’m happy that Dominic took that podium place. The next race, Hungary, will be very nice. At least I hope so.”
Dominic De Forest: “This is a pretty awesome way to start the season. I’m very happy with my third place and I really enjoyed the podium ceremony. I hope to do this again during the season, but of course we have to be a bit realistic. A Top-5 position next race would be nice.”
- Angelo Racing makes it with both cars in the points. That’s a great way to start the season for the Hungarian team.
Timothy Raue: “I’m very happy with this result. My fifteenth position in qualifying wasn’t bad at all, but gaining six places during the race is very nice. I’m now going to celebrate this with beer because I really want one. Next race will be very important because it’s our team’s home race. When I finish in the points that race I’ll organise a big party at my home. I really hope I’ll succeed!”
Kurt Jensson: “It was a good race for us. We’ve had some luck but that’s what you need, or not? I’m happy that both Timothy and I finished in the points. Next race will be important for us, because it’s our team’s home race. Yeah, I know Timothy told you that as well, and that you know that, but you want an answer, or not? If you want to know something else then ask other questions, you stupid! If I take points in Hungary I’ll kick your ass!”
- Ricciardo Gambino surprised everyone by going from 9th to 4th.
Ricciardo Gambino: “This is really an awesome result. The qualification didn’t go bad at all, but I didn’t expect to gain so many positions. I’ve just beaten both Mohn and Antlers cars, that’s pretty awesome! The podium would’ve been nice but I’m already so happy with this result. And it shows who’s driver number one in our team.”
- Seamus Doherty takes a nice sixth position in his ‘home race’.
Seamus Doherty: “This is a pretty awesome start of the season. I was already happy with my eighth position in qualifying and looking to the gap to the seventh position I just hoped to hold my position. But I gained two during the race and I’m really happy with that. It’s nice that the crowd here is cheering on me as well, so it feels as a home race. I’m very happy with my result and this is a very good start of the season.”
- Justin Clark was disappointed after he lost three positions during the race. He expected more from himself and from his teammate.
Justin Clark: “I’m actually very disappointed with this result. I know we still scored points, but I just hoped for more, especially because it’s my home race. When you start with the thoughts that you could finish on the podium then ending up eighth is a disappointment. We also have a backlog on the Mazzilionia drivers, who were very fast this weekend. It’s also a shame that Paul couldn’t finish the race. It’s just not a good team performance and I hope to take revenge next race.”
- Moreno Costa rides the fastest lap of the race.
Moreno Costa: “This is very nice. Did Antonio think I stole it from him? Come on, I’m not giving him the points as a present. He says that he’ll dominate the whole season, so why should he worry about that one little point I took by driving the fastest lap of the race?”

It's me again, Seamus Doherty. We just finished the seasons first race, at Silverstone, and I can't say just how happy I am with the outcome. Finishing sixth here and beating guys that clearly have the faster car is just amazing. I took some important points here, which will hopefully help me to a Top 10 finish in the overall at the end of the season. See you at Hungaroring!

A long, heated debrief coming up at Mohn. Setting the 4th fastest lap of the race and still doing that badly is worrying.

I hope, that the results will improve at the Hungaroring...

Reaction – James Harden
Welp, after coming 11th in the qualification, I was really looking to get into the top 10, but unfortunately I couldn't overtake Kurt. However, there are still things to be happy for, as Seamus did come in 6th, which is a pretty nice achievement! Congrats Seamus, great driving! |

It will be interesting to see how far in front we'll be if Mohn and Antlers can both have clean weekends aswell but we should have enough of a gap to fight it out between ourselves.

5th is okay but this race gives me some hope for a good season. Armstrong was in the lead when he crashed while I had the third fastest lap today so we definitly have a good car. Looking forward to the next race.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Ricciardo Gambino
"What a great race for me! Very surprised at the car's performance but with our result it shows the team are doing very well for me, I hope they will continue this into Hungary where I think the car should do a little better than in Silverstone. Beating Day also showed who is the real boss of the team as well so it was a good day in my opinion."

Actually it just shows which driver is getting the better cars on the team.
