"I love him, I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense" - Bradley Wiggins on Lance Armstrong
I'm convinced we really do need a thread along the lines of "Stupid cycling commentary".
Seriously.

Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!
Everytime I see people complain, I think: "It can't be that bad". Then I watch some early 2000 TdF mountain stages and hear Phil and Paul going on about how great Armstrong is. (Courchevel 2005 is recommended, one of the two is sick which is really funny to hear )

We have in another forum a ''Paulo Martins Fan Club''. Does that count? It's a place where we worship this man wich has 42 years old and 40 years of experience in cycling.

Indeed, this phrase was initially used in 2005 when ProTour was created and by it organisers wanted to emphasise that TdP is in "one league" with all the greatest cycling races. More "experienced" cycling fans may find it funny, but it's mainly aimed at those, who only watch cycling once or twice a year.

No matter what nationality, people here are complaining about their commentators. Except of the Belgians. They have Sporza
I haven't heard much about the dutch commentators either (that maybe be because the dutch watch sporza )
edit: also helps that the down air shit
Well, check out PCMfocus if you want people complaining about Dutch commentators
The NOS commentators are pretty bad (well, terrible is a better word) Because of Maarten Ducrot and Herbert Dijkstra, I don't watch cycling on the NOS again. Now I watch the Dutch version of Eurosport, especially with Thijs Zonneveld (former cyclist and a great writer of columns about cycling), Michael Boogerd (former doper, but good as an analist) and I believe the 3rd one is Martijn Berkhout (also a former cyclist). Especially the combination of Zonneveld and Berkhout is really good.
He's a great guy as we;;. Also, he's so good because I give him advice with text/twitter half the time eurosport is reporting half of the 'viewer input' is mine.
Martijn Berkhout is from SEG Cycling who manage a lot of cyclists (like Mollema, Dan Martin, Thomas Dekker, and some 30 others).
In the past I did update the websites for Thomas Dekker, Langeveld, Maaskant, De Maar, Mouris and some others for the Berkhout brothers (Martijn has an older brother called Eelco, also from SEG).
Like I said, he's really good and well informed. And he has my help what more do you want
