Thanks a lot Sutty
I agree Ian. Might have exaggerated a little, but at this rate, it wont before PCM13, although I might not get the next game, if I only play it as much as this one.
Thanks Jakstar 2nd was very good I think. And 9th here was alright.

Well, there's no need to rush it. More updates would be nice, but in the end it's your call

Thanks a lot Ian and Freitas. More updates hopefully, although I'm actually very busy. Lots of schoolwork being assigned to all be done before the holidays.
Milano - San Remo
Startlist
The stage began with a group of 4 getting clear, and getting a gap of 8 minutes back to the peloton. The most notable rider in the breakaway, was definitely Robert Gesink, and chasing the breakaway back, was no easy task for the peloton, but they slowly but surely lowered the gap until we hit the Cipressa where a few attacks from riders like Vanendert and Vinokourov were made, and in the process caught the breakaway riders, who at that point surrendered back to the peloton.
The peloton winded its way down a hill and right to the edge of the Mediteraneen, of course inspiring the riders that they were closing in on the finish. The riders knew the task at hand.
And just at the top of the Poggio, Rui Costa made a quick attack on the opposite side of the road, and no one was able to latch onto his wheel. He got a small gap, but no one really thought he would get away for the win.
We got to flat terrain for the final 2-3km and Costa was still out in front. The sprinters started charging for the line, starting their sprint early just to catch Costa.
But it was all too late. Costa timed his attack perfectly, and the sprinters couldn't make it to him in time. A wonderful win for him, and Caisse, as he adds to his ever growing palmares.

@ all: Thanks a lot! I forgot to respond before posting the report but it means a lot. Winning MSR will definitely go down as a highlight of the season. I never really expected that I could do it, it basically just happened.
Volta Ciclista a Catalunya
Caisse are here, with no real goals or ambitions other than to show up and put in a decent showing for the team. We are here just after Milan SanRemo looking to continue the results we have been getting as of late, and being in Spain, the motivation for most of the riders, being Spanish themselves, should be quite high or atleast thats the idea.
Caisse Squad
David Arroyo
Enrique Sanz
Rafael Valls
Rigoberto Urán
Pablo Lastras
Beñat Intxausti
Sergio Pardilla
Ãngel Madrazo
The squad here, has the goal of being high up in the GC, as well as being fairly strong all-round on the hills, giving lots of breakaway opportunities. Uran is racing for the first time this season but insists he's in good form leading up to the Ardennes where he will play a key role as domestique, likely. Lastras is in great form, as well as Arroyo and either could lead the team. Inxausti if he can do well on the hills may also have a chance at leading, due to his great mountain climbing skills, being the best on the squad.
Arroyo crosses the line winning the stage from a break!
The first day, David Arroyo slipped into the breakaway, with the goal of gaining the most KOM points, but when we saw that the timegaps to the peloton looked just a little too big to ultimately bring back the breakaway, we gave him the go ahead to attack whenever he thought it would be best. He chose the final hill, where he was able to get a good gap, and then push it hard on the descent to ensure his gap stayed. He coasted in the town, and starts the tour of with a bang for us. From now on, because of the win and timegap, he's become the leader.
1 | David Arroyo | Caisse d'Epargne | 3h38'10 | valv321 | 2 | Xavier Florencio | Katusha Team | + 38 | | 3 | Simon Gerrans | Orica - GreenEDGE | s.t.
Gavazzi takes the stage in a sprint!
The second stage, was a bit of an anti-climax as nothing of significance really happened, except for the breakaway, which is pretty much expected. Gavazzi was able to get to the line first in the sprint, and Arroyo holds on to his GC lead for another day.
1 | Francesco Gavazzi | Astana Pro Team | 3h52'06 | | 2 | Simon Gerrans | Orica - GreenEDGE | s.t. | | 3 | Rinaldo Nocentini | Ag2r - La Mondiale | s.t.
Arroyo falling back from the heads of state on the climb
The third stage did not go all so well for Arroyo, as he was obviously not up to par with the climbing of the other leaders in the tour. The main group hit the bottom of the climb and everything was looking alright for Arroyo, who had several team-mates around him, but when Mollema and Gesink made their moves, it was hard for Arroyo to hold on at all. He tried slowly making his way back, and did start to reduce the gap, but he eventually cracked and lost even more time. Maybe too much was expected of him, but the stage win is still something we can take away from the tour.
1 | Robert Gesink | Rabobank Cycling Team | 6h23'19 | 2 | Rinaldo Nocentini | Ag2r - La Mondiale | + 32 | 3 | Igor Antón | Euskaltel - Euskadi | s.t. |
GC after Stage 3
1 | Robert Gesink | Rabobank Cycling Team | 13h54'03 | 2 | Rinaldo Nocentini | Ag2r - La Mondiale | + 32 | 3 | Gorka Izagirre | Euskaltel - Euskadi | + 37 | 4 | Igor Antón | Euskaltel - Euskadi | + 38 | 5 | Daniel Moreno | Katusha Team | + 1'32 | 6 | David Arroyo | Caisse d'Epargne | + 1'36 |
Gesink takes the sprint?
Well again, just like stage 2, nothing really happened on the day. Break went out, break got caught. Just before the sprint, there was a short but steep hill, which probably hurt the sprinters legs just a little too much. Gesink won in the sprint, a bit surprising, but a good sprint altogether. None of Caisse could do all that well, but more is planned on the next stages.
1 | Robert Gesink | Rabobank Cycling Team | 4h53'07 | 2 | Eros Capecchi | Liquigas - Cannondale | s.t. | 3 | Rinaldo Nocentini | Ag2r - La Mondiale | s.t. |
Ligthart wins from the break
Well, another day, another breakaway. Valls got into the break for Caisse, and all is going well, until all the Caisse riders in the peloton miss a split, which most of the heads of state seem to get into, and that group eventually makes it all the way up to the breakaway. They are caught with about 10km to go, and they all settle on a sprint, where surprisingly, Ligthart originally from the BOTD, wins it in a sprint, and with a good margin as well.
1 | Pim Ligthart | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | 5h15'16 | 2 | Kristjan Koren | Liquigas - Cannondale | s.t. | 3 | Michael Albasini | Orica - GreenEDGE | s.t. | 20 | Rafael Valls | Caisse d'Epargne | s.t. |
Another Day, another breakaway, this time Denifl!
We have yet another break making it clear to the line. Denifl gets the win, and it makes us think that we must get a guy in the breakaway for the final stage, it seems as though Rabobank are fine with letting them clear and picking up the bonus seconds, as long as you are well clear of Gesinks overall lead.
1 | Stefan Denifl | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | 4h13'57 | 2 | Michał Kwiatkowski | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step | s.t. | 3 | Marco Marzano | Lampre - ISD | s.t. |
Close, but no cigar for Caisse!
On the final stage, Sergio Pardilla gladly accepted the role of getting into the breakaway, and he did a great job. Rabo let them clear and he was looking strong at the fiinish, but Garcia made a late move and used the descent into the finish town to keep the timegaps at a stalemate, even though Pardilla did all he could to reach the leader. Garcia won it on a solo attack, and Pardilla was soon caught by the other BOTD riders, and snagged him a few spots, down to 4th.

Really like the report and the image
A good victory for Arroyo, a shame that Pardilla finished 4th. While a the team made a great race in France with the GC victory and a Top 5. |

A good win from Arroyo in Catalunya, the team didn't manage anything special from the GC, but elsewhere in Corsica the boys did really well. |
