My god, I hope Mørkøv loses the polkadot jersey soon. Danish TV2 has literally spent 75 % of the time today talking about how amazing he is. It's getting really annoying.
This.
I like Mørkøv, he seems like a nice guy, but Danish TV need to relax. They always hype our riders as if we're about to take over the world of cycling any day now.
I'd like to see him fight for that jersey - it'd make for good television too. |

Cav is still the king.
Greipel's really disappointed, I understand why, though.
Nice race to watch! |

The Norwegians own the world of cycling. Everybody knows that.

Cav is very lucky today. If Orica hasn't been so far down, he wouldn't have a chance. A pity that Kittel had problems with his stomach.

@tastasol - Don't know how you can say that, Cavendish won that sprint on his own, he didn't have much help at all from his team |

Impressive ride for Cavendish, how he found his way through the pack in the last km. Too bad for Greipel, their team worked well and deserved a win as well. Also, very impressive ride by Veelers. |

It was a good sprint, but if he hadn't jumped on the Orica-train.. Then he would have taken a lot of wind from a hopeless position.

That's what usually happens when a Dane does anything slightly noteworthy. I suppose Eurosport is better for the cycling geeks |

However, Astana's team GC hopeful Janez Brajkovic was not quite as diplomatic. He wrote on Twitter: "Bad day. @BorutBozic was hit from behind by organization car. Org car could avoid him, but would bump into other car. He chose hitting rider".

Apparently Bozic was hit by one of the organisation's cars. He went to the hospital to check his right elbow. |

So i just read Sagan's thoughts about yesterday and he says he was extremly surprised how nervous and dangerous the mass sprint at the Tour was. He even says there was so much blocking and elbow contacts that he did not take the risks to achieve something better than 6th and saved himself for today.
I dont know if i could believe to this, but it is true he was just sitting there boxed and wasnt doing some crazy actions, because he has the points for 6th place and can easily earn more today apart from other sprinters...

The interviews with Cav before and after the stage say to me that he isn't happy not having more team support. I suspect that when he was signing for Sky they said that they could go for both the green and yellow jerseys, but because of what Wiggins has done so far this season they are now putting all thier effort into the yellow alone.
We won't really know until Cav leaves Sky or writes another book, but I suspect that he's not happy. |

I think you're right about Cavendish. The way he called himself a 'bonus rider' on the team is a clear sign on how he feels about it.
Imagine how he would have felt if in the end, he didn't beat Greipel, who was sprinting with his own train. He would've been super pissed.

He would not have bee extremely pissed. He usually lost his first sprint at the Tour anyway
Look, Cav knew the focus on Tour 2012 would be on Wiggins. That's why he's bigger target is Olympics where Wiggins & Co. will do utermost to help him win. Next year Tour promises to be more mountainous and unlikely for Wiggins to win. Next year he'll have his train back.

I know what you're saying, but his whole tone of voice yesterday suggests that he's pissed off now. Of course, if Wiggins crashes again this year Cav will get his train back. And yes, next year the focus will be different. |

Yeah of course but that's pretty basic within cycling. He could also have ridden the entire stage on the front of the bunch...there is no sprinter who doesn't try to get on the end of some train. |

Matt Goss was pissed post-stage, having a word with Oscar Freire and blaming a bunch of riders who were throwing elbows and ruining the Orica train. Really hope he can get a couple stage wins.

Sprinter can be so funny sometimes... always blaming other people for riding 'dangerous'. |
