I set my hopes high with D-12 in town for Houston, but I'm still a bit concerned about our D and the PF position.
I think we have:
PG Lin/Beverley/Canaan
SG Harden/Reggie Williams
SF Parsons/Garcia
PF Jones/Motiejunas (picked up some muscle lately)
C D12/Asik
At PG our only option to upgrade is a Lin/Asik package, but I'm not sure if that's the way to go. If we don't trade Asik (which I doubt) at the 5 we probably have the best rotation in the league. At the 4 we have two stretchy guys, both can hit the middy and Motiejunas is also dangerous from 3. (kind of) Harden and Parsons are obviously great, and R-Will and Garcia are quite good backups. Overall this is pretty good, but we need to step up defensively to compete in the PO.
@roturn - Well, the Calderon - Nowo P&R sounds really good.

But Billups and Knight only 2 players that can get buckets outside 15 feet.
Agreed, but KCP, our 1st round pick, is considered to be a sharp shooter so if he can knock down a few shots a game that shouldn't be a problem considering I think our strategy will be old school and just pound the paint and getting offensive rebounds.

I dont think that Smith fits in and I think it's a rather bad move for the Pistons as the developement of Monroe and Drummond should be valued over WINNING NOW and maybe get a 8th seed. I have heard rumours of them wanting to obtain Rondo, imagine that spacing, though it suddeny will become a very competetive team with Drummond, Monroe, Smith and Rondo
I am a Warriors-fan myself since Stephen was drafted and I am very happy to see how that new management have changed the attitude. The team now looks like a legimate thread in the West along with Clippers, Spurs, OKC and Rockets (and yes, I did not include Griz on purpose..)
Really looking forward to the new season. I'll have LP again this year - as i live en Denmark.. - and plan to follow Warriors, Bulls, Cavaliers and Rockets which are teams I find rather interesting and with a bunch of talent. |

Pistons just continue to make moves this time by acquiring PG Brandon Jennings from the Bucks in a sign and trade in which we will trade back Knight, Middleton, and Kravtsov. So, really we give away what was turning into a PG project with Knight and two backup scrubs which probably won't amount to anything greater than that for a solid young PG who's flaw is his attitude and jacking up a lot shots.
I like it. We needed more shooters and somebody has to take control even if it will be reckless at times. But hey that's why we got Billups to bring in and calm things down. And with the loaded front court of Smith/Monroe/Drummond getting offensive rebounds shouldn't be a problem for all the shots Jennings and KCP will jack up.
Will make for an interesting season and should lead to the playoffs where anything can happen. Not really though as all the experts are granting the Heat another title already. Sometimes I wish basketball was more unpredictable like hockey.

It doesn't matter what they do they can't compete with the Thunder!
Edit: They are in different conferences anyway, whoops

Yep I think they should keep JLin he still has a lot to offer! and Asik as well. Rockets arn't going to give Asik unless they get something very good for it. don't forget about Greg Smith as well he is very solid. And Pat Bev can be one of the best back up PG in the league as well! Looking like a very solid team. OH they got Marcus Camby as well! Very good signs of teaming Contending this year or the next!!! CANT WAIT GO ROCKETS! |

Good deal for Detroit. You might get frustrated with Jennigs and Smiths shooting percentage but I think Billups will make Jennings a much better player. Definatly a play-off team now imo.
The move to Brooklyn and the fact that I love black outfits has turned me into a Nets fan last year. Though they are Monaco, PSG and Man City in one.
Must say I really like the trade. Never really been a fan of Pierce but he is a fierce contender who I think will sacrifice himself for the good of the team. I've always liked Garnett, he should make the team much better offensively. I just hope he isn't done yet.
PG Williams/Livingston
SG johnson/Terry
SF Pierce/AK-47
PF Garnett/Evans
C Lopez/Blatche
Looks very good on paper. Big names on the starting 5 plus I don't see many better second units. Think Kidd will mold it into a very good team. Probably the only team that can be a threat to Miami in the East.
And has there ever been a team that has 2 Power Forwards that slapped into somebody's nuts during a game?

Detroit are just going get a 5th to 8th seed not really going to do much I think. very interesting team indeed though. Im very curious with how these moves effect the future... if there gonna be flexible. They could joined the tanking this year! |

They'll have the Smith-Monroe-Jennings nucleus for the next 3 year. And they've been bad for 5 years so it was time to start competing again.

But they have the ultimate guy (small exaggeration) to go against Miami in Roy Hibbert. They can't stop him effectively. I think with some improvement from PG24 and the return of Danny Granger and the vastly improved bench, they're the best suited to the Beat The Heat. |

As much as I hate to say this, "challenge" will only be for No.2
And as always the West will be more exciting to watch
Spoiler Go Rockets!
Really I'm not a fan of the D12 signing, he's indicated time and time again he doesn't really like to stay in Houston.

The semi final of the Euro between France and Spain was amazing. Tony Parker was supersonic, 32 points in an only 45 minutes game (40 minutes + 5 of overtime). Just fantastic ! We win the spanish after 8 defeats in a row !

Tony is da beast!!!
Spain missed Ibaka though, he would have crushed them under and over the rim much better.
Looking forward to new NBA year, cant wait for pre season. Rooting for Cavs and Rockets, D12-Harden duo should be nice to watch.
And rooting for so hated Heat of course.
And it would be nice if Vesely started performing better in NBA too for Wizards, he was great at Euro.
