General Career Discussion 2013
Ian Butler
The difficulty can be changed with an editor indeed. How I don't know, though.

Hard is generally believed to lead to the most realistic results for all kinds of stages.

Smoku
Difficulty is in the local.cdb in Difficulty table in racestatcoefficient column:
Easy = 0,95
Normal = 1,00
Hard = 1,025
Extreme = 1,05
So extreme is easy reversed.
All AI stats are multiplied by this factor. You can adjust these vales as preferred. I find 1,04 quite challenging but not overly difficult.

Also remember that even if only the stats are affected by difficulty you will see AI behaving more aggressively on higher difficulty - they will simply have more energy left to attack due to better stats.

In general AI in PCM13 makes it a bit easier than in previous versions due to collisions (positioning your riders in front before the climb blocks AI riders and makes it harder for them to do anything - this has extreme effects on narrow climbs leading to riddiculous losses for badly postioned riders), attack behavior (AI attacks early and wastes energy) and breakaway exploit. So you should be fine with higher difficulty.

Forgot how enjoyable a career with CT team can be with all of these stories and strong-team careers. Picked Meridiana Kamen and signed up few solid guys such as Pibernik, Stevic and few others. Here's the current squad:

For the first time I decided to go with Extreme and I got some pretty solid results so far. 2nd, 3rd, 7th in NZCC and 3rd in overall, with 10th place in GP Camaiore thanks to blocking. Would definitely win that sprint and finish in 2nd (behind Costa), but it was a huge group and there was no free road space.

How stupid is not beating dead Gilbert in Milan San Remo by forgetting to sprint?

That's a tough one.
I'm gonna go with: very, very stupid Pfft

I honestly thought there still 1 more km to go :lol: :lol: :lol:
<headbanging the wall>

At least my results on extrreme look more realistic this way. So far in 2016:
Down Under - Mohoric 1st
Murcia - Majka 1st
Strade Bianche - Mohoric 1st
Paris Nice - Mohoric 4th
Tirreno Adriatico - Majka 7th
Milan San Remo - Mohoric 2nd
Majka fighting for top 5 in Catalunya

Otherwise, it wouldn't be funny. I don't mind if he's a doper (he is), but I enjoy this so far. In the meantime, we got 5th in Roma Maxima with Stevic!

Aaand, first win on extreme (in my 3rd extreme race) - Trofej Umag with Antonio Santoro! Peloton almost caught the guys in front, but it didn't happen luckily. Santoro was part of big breakaway group and was passive almost whole day, so he saved a bit of energy for the end. He decided to attack at 5km to go and it paid off, totally!

Playing with Leopard Trek here! Should I set Cancellara or Nizzolo as leader in Milano-San Remo?

Leader in what?
I'd put Cancellara as leader and Nizzolo as sprinter, normally. But again, I have no idea what race you're talking about Pfft

Didn't get promoted to World Tour in my first season which is probably a good thing as we don't have a competitive leader in any terrain (bar Leukemans who isn't super strong and will decline very soon as well.)

Promotion this season will be difficult as well as Greenedge who got relegated still has a good team and there are other strong teams as well. Aim is to promote anyway and take part in my first ever Grand Tour (either the Giro and/or Vuelta depending on wildcards.)

Here is the team, strong enough?

No, not really imo.

Possibly enough for promotion if you play your cards well, and try and make the most of less contested WT races (STDU, Pologne, Eneco, Beijing...). Though definitely straight back down if you can't get a strong leader, Gilbert springs to mind, sinc he's Belgian. Somebody like GvA would be a great signing too, no matter what level.

Jesleyh
Yeah, what Dippo says. You could've used a real (non-cobbles) leader, like a 77MO or HI guy, though.

What would you be aiming for since you're hoping for a wildcared for either the Giro or the Vuelta? From the looks of it, you don't have a strong enough GC-rider, nor are you're sprinters quite at the mark even though you have a good train.

Personally I would focus on other races and not spend 21 race days on it. You might get a win from a break, though.

Well, I think Francis De Greef could fight for the KOM jersey: 75 MO / 73 HIL / 73 REC. KOM jersey will bring valuable points for the ranking to get promotion. And don't forget that you get points every day when you have this jersey (sprinter and leader too). So the sooner you get it, the better Smile

I will not open a topic for this question but does someone remember how to determine the maximum allowed time delay at finish to not withdraw)? Thanks

Season 2 with Giant-Shimano is getting a bit dull. Reaching April and Arndt has improved to 81/81 sprint alongside the 83 Kittel, 81 Bouhanni, 79 Sagan and 79 Dekegenkolb. Any race that finishes in a sprint we win already over 20 victories. 5 wins at TDU, 5 in Qatar, 5 in Oman, 2 in Paris-Nice and 3 in Tirreno.
Added to this and my new U25 signings are predicted 77+ in their key stats... Its a bit OP for me.

Cant quite decide what to do next. I've only got a few weeks of play time so it will be a 3 season game at most. Sky might be good with some self imposed restrictions or i might try either Garmin or BMC or Lampre, teams i havnt used in aaaaages.
