News from the Vuelta a Colombia: in a really unspormanship gesture, González and his team took advantage by attacking when Fabio Duarte had a puncture. Due to that, Duarte lost more than 7 minutes in the GC. But well, just one day after that justice has prevailed. González fell down at the Alto de Minas and the peloton inmediatly attacked, leaded by Colombia es Pasión and Gobernación del Zulia. González lost more than 9 minutes and the new leader is Rujano, but sunday's TT of 35 km is a good opportunity for Botero, who is just 1m38s back in GC.

Mind you, Liquigas do seem to be somewhat mixed up with their team at times!
At Giro: So Liquigas who's the team leader Basso or Pellizotti? I watched them climb up Alpe de Suisi having Smzyd burn off as many as they could. Then Basso takes over and I think, oh riding for Pellizotti but then he is dropped by Basso! Later it becomes clear Pellizotti is the leader and you see Basso riding for Pellizotti on the Vesuvius climb.
At TdF: Its Nibali and Kreuzinger are team leaders. Oh and Pellizotti is going as well as a sort of team leader who is going for stages.
I am not sure it works so well for the team.
But yeah does anyone proofread cyclingnews articles at all? I mean Visconti I was like wha? Why did Liquigas bring him in from ISD for?
At the Tour it'll work for Liquigas because neither Nibali nor Kreuziger will attack much. They tend to suck wheel in grand tours. Which is what they should do. |

Interesting news piece on Cyclingnews about an anti doping guy who says that there's a link between using cocaine and other drugs:
"As justification for his stance, Donati referred to his work as a consultant for a prosecutor in doping cases. "I know very well the connection in using [of both types]," he said, explaining that the substance is used by some in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
It is utilised "mainly to compensate for the slump in mood and aggressiveness during the suspension of anabolic steroids or testosterone," he explained. "There is the consequence of becoming addicted to both categories of substances."" |

McEwen says if there's another positive on the team, the sponsors will shut it down.
*UCI makes sure it won't happen* |

If Katusha get another positive, then the team are suspended from competition for a while are they not? Like Saunier Duval should've been.
I definitely read something about that rule (3 riders caught=team suspended) a while ago, can't find it now

As I read somewhere else, as an extra argument for the decision, the Kazakh sponsors on Astana needs to pay their bills tomorrow by 6 pm, so suspending him might be a way to put a little pressure on them.

it al goes down when you click riders and teams. Some of the teams have their jersey while some just have pictures with riders during races in that jersey...

Spanish sports minister Jaime Lissavetzky believes "there are a number of doubts and questions" over Alejandro Valverde's suspension from racing in Italy by the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) and has questioned the fairness of the decision.
seriously how can these people become ministers of anything??
it sickens me watching Iberian countries assuming such fascist policies...

Speaking of Vino.
From July 24th, he's cleared to race.
