7th is a fantastic debut season. The leaders delivered but the breakdown of the scoring showed where you can improve: Depth scoring could have been a bit better (although arguably not as important in CT yet) but most crucial will be to replace the aging leaders. |

Guillen certainly proved me wrong. He was much better than I expected
Too bad Petrovski didn't get more chances to ride for himself, but in the end he probably played a part in Marquez's success and of course he got that win he was looking for. I guess his transfer to Los Pollos was a success

@all: Thanks for the comments, always appreciated
Disappointment of the season Luca Sterbini Luca was supposed to be among the top-3 time trialists in the division with his 78 TT stat, but never really showed it. A stage top-3 in Argentina was his best race of the season, with a sixth and seventh in GC in the Herald Sun Tour and Danmark respectively being his best GC results. He was our fifth best scorer with 82 points. Definitely not the worst rider on the team, but management hoped for him to score around 150 points.
Jose Gerardo Ulloa Definitely some heavy bias here, as DS Nemolito found the Mexican himself, scouting Latin American mountainbike talent just before the MG season started. He was introduced to the team as a future cobbled domestique or even leader in PCT, and he didn't disappoint us this season neither. Some nice attacks in HC races, some good domestique work for Baugnies already as well. The stuff we love to see. Very deserving winner of the award, very happy we can keep him on the team next season.
Alain Quispe OR Matala Seboka Some choices are to hard to make, so I'll leave it up to you. Leave your vote in the comments below, because this is a choice impossible for me to make. Two men with shitty back-ups, but both managed to score around fifty points. Quispe mostly by a late attack in a C2HC classic, Seboka by winning a C2 stage in Trentino and the C1-KoM in Andorra. Quispe also did some great work by co-coaching the Minions' team in the Avenir.
Marco Guillén There were a lot of possibilities, but it's living legend Marco Guillén who takes the award home. Having been the most scoring draft rider in the last two seasons, Los Pollos Hermanos decided to give him some money to buy bread for his family. He performed terrible in the first part of the season, only to have a spectacular second half with two stage wins and some other great results. This all led to Marco being our third best scorer with almost 200 points. The chances of the Costa Rican landing a contract anywhere next season are not too high, but he will never be forgotten in the MG world.
Jerome Baugnies No surprise at all, as Jerome Baugnies is our rider of the season! 542 points made him the fifth best individual rider and delivered the team promotion in their first season ever! His future at the team might be very uncertain, he will also never be forgotten by Los Pollos Hermanos' fans all around the world. Merci, Jerome!

Baugnies as rider of the season? I'm shocked
My vote goes to Alain Quispe, mostly because he's a meme rider I've followed for a couple of years in the MG and was close to signing at some point
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

I understand Quispe appears as a meme but after talking to him in Avenir he seems like a nice guy who just ends up in weird situations, so my vote goes to Seboka and his inability to perform even in a race like Transfaragasaragagarasaynananarasan where all we do is climbing.

The weird Belgian had a great season indeed, so deserved rider of the season
A shame Petrovski didn't make it on here, but the others are probably better choices
I have to go for Quispe as Meme of the season. At least he's a less expensive meme

Alain Quispe We received thousands of votes, and they have finally all been counted. Alain Quispe is Los Pollos Hermanos' 2020 meme of the season! Not the biggest surprise, but he still does it! 80 flat with no back ups alone was a reason to nominate him for this award, but he did so much more. He was actually a surprisingly strong lead-out, having been the last rider ahead of Guillén in most of his successful endeavours. In addition to this, he almost did the 1 point per 1k wage job, finishing with 47 points. Most of his points were gained by finishing fourth in a C2HC classic, and having some interesting attacks in the C1 Circulo de Juarez. The Peruvian isn't your average wallflower, as he had some beef with manager Marcovdw during the season. He then apologized and went to France to coach the Minions/Los Pollos Hermanos team, but because of his lack of cycling knowledge he got demoted to chef, making the youngsters eat Peruvian cuy everyday. In the end, after years of winning the double Peruvian championship, he finally had some competition with two other Peruvian (teammates). Both others won one championship, Quispe was last twice.
After all this praising of Quispe, there is just one more announcement to make...

Los Pollos Hermanos CEO Gustavo Fring and DS Nemolito would like to thank all of you for following the story of our first season. We consider the season to be successful, with a promotion to PCT, an individual top-5 with Baugnies, some wins by both Seboka and Guillén, and, most importantly, the development of a first batch of Latin American riders. Next season the focus will definitely be on developing more Latin American riders, as well as going for one or more talents from our added focus nation. We would like to end by saying we have some great news, as Los Pollos Hermanos has extended their contract with the team for two more seasons.
That's it for this season, see you in the 2021 thread soon.

Great stuff to have the sponsor locked and why not after a successful first season. Look forward to how you go in PCT and also to ride with you again

Congrats on promoting to PCT, looks like quite comfortably in the end
I don't think we should clash much on transfers as I'm not in the Latin American or Belgian market and probably won't be too focused on talents either.
I'm looking forward to following the next chapter of Los Pollos Hermanos
