Thats what we get for being that arrogant. Sadly deserved.

2-0! Deserved. Neuer tried everything.
Why did they even renew Löws contract BEFORE the world cup?

Don't get that reply, but well, there are bad losers and apparently bad winners as well.
At least I was supporting belgium from the start on, so i can only hope that they do well.

Amazing. Sweden plays such poor football (technique wise, amusement wise), yet they eliminated the Netherlands and Italy before the worlds. And now Germany as well, and easily beat Mexico.
If you see their players and their clubs and their style of play, you think it's not possible. Greece 2004 vibes |

That was a very well deserved leaving the World Cup by Germany.
Possession might have been nice in those 3 games. But they simply had no ideas in the offense row. It was easy to defend for all 3 teams.
It was horrifying how bad the form was of mainly the top star players. Kimmich and Müller far from their best. Hummels only good today, Khedira awful. Kroos also not very good, awful defensifely and except for that free kick not in the game.
Özil no ideas at all. Draxler nothing.
Basically Werner and Reus in the offense plus Brandt after 3 late subs and Gomez, who changed the game but then had bad luck with the chances himself.
Can`t say I am shocked really. After a good qualify, the latest test games were shit and this remained throughout the 3 games in the Worlds.
Time for some changes I guess and to give more opportunities for the hungry players, that won the Confed Cup last year. Brandt, Goretzka, Süle, Sane likely play a much bigger role in the next Cup. |

Btw. as a Werder Bremen supporter, I got really excited once Augustinsson made the 1:0 for Sweden and was hiddenly enjoying them going forward vs. Germany.
It would have been even nicer though if it was Sweden and Germany. |

I have heard is been rather good in Bundesliga this year so had high hopes for him at the worlds but he has not lived up to that before today. Almost that I would have Martin Olsson playing instead of him today but he delivered more then only the goal today.
And I was very happy when my favorite player assisted to Augstinsson in a very genius way (or maybe very lucky...) Viktor Claesson is it,he fixed the penalty against Korea and assisted to Toivonen against Germany aswell as put Berg free when he should have gotten a penalty.
Yeah kinda weird going on to the playoff with out Germany.
Now Sweden most likely up against Switzerland.(or brazil/serbia). |

Are you sure you want to post this during MG renewals?

He was decent to be honest.
Hardly made big assists or goals, but defended a lot better than was expected.
Guess next year is to get the balance better. Keeping a good defense but becoming stronger in the offense, which by the scoutings preseason was his actual strength.
One issue was that the team had no single forward, that waits in the box. Hence he often had no chance to cross. At the moment not looking to be different next season though. |

Fair enough.
I am a club supporter and while obviously hope for a good tournament by Germany, I am far from becoming depressed now. Worlds and Euros are just a bonus to the Bundesliga.
The qualify for those is annoying. |

Very nice to see Sweden on through. Mexico was really not that good in the test match against us (Denmark), and I was chocked to see them beat Germany, but having seen Germany play Sweden and South Korea, I beg to differ. It wasn't Mexico being good, just Germany being awful at a completely new level - atleast for me.
Sweden could end up getting Switzerland now, which is a great draw for them. Brazil vs. Mexico could be very entertaining also, although I wouldn't completely rule out Serbia at this point.

Zlatan was right from the beginning.
---
Germany lack a top finisher, Müller has had two average years and seems to be declining in form, Werner not quite the striker Germany used to have, but good potential. Gómez not really consistent throughout the tournament, though he has impact in terms of positioning. |

Deutschland Deutschland unter alles
Should have brought new generation as i have mentioned earlier, big mistake to take ageing players who have already won many things and thus lack motivation and determination.
Shame Argentina got through, same with Spain, as that would be all teams i dont like much in football going home.
