Both your last 2 posts are great news Tank! Looking forward to play around with the excel spreadsheet later on!
About the FTR formula, looks like punchers have a higher score than the other riders. Would be nice if you could somehow bring back the old formula you had showed in here: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_962666
Although there were problems with Voigt (that is retired now anyway) it looked quite accurate imo!

If I were you, if you don't want to edit the tables but just want to take a look at them, I'd download Excel Viewer.

The problem with the Fighter stat is that there is actually no way to calculate it, based on FINAL results... So I came up with a trick. I calculate the number of points collected as the best of the team and as domestic. If the percentage of domestic is higher than 6%, then I calculates the fighter stat, based on scored points. If the percentage of domestic is lower than 6% (he is seen as a leader) and therefor, the points score are deducted if his primary stats exceed a certain level.
I've done a tweek and I must say, it is looking better now... |

Here is the new excel file.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4...%20v2.xlsx
There are about a 1000 more cyclists with stats.
It really takes me a lot of work getting all the races in the right category (race type). And it would help a lot if people form the countries (especially those in the Africa continent) would look at the races in their country, because it is hard to find profiles of those races. |

Fair enough on the fighter stat, I understand it and that's why I didn't really have ideas for a formula. By the way, thanks for the updated excel file, looking forward to play around with it tomorrow, those 1000 races are a real plus!

Isnt it an idea to use Pro Cycling Stats for the Fighter stat? They list which riders are in the early breakaway on their result page.

I looked at it, but i use cqranking.com as a base for the stats creation and writing a new macro on procyclingstats.com just for that purpose, seems a bit of a longshot. Beside, iT only had the breakaway recorded for big races. |

Progress so far;
Stats created based on 2.422 results resulting in calculated stats for 5.024 cyclist of which some have gone into retirement, but still a lot of useful stats..
Will see if I have the drive to also include the 2014 .2 races

I could use some help from somebody with knowledge of the north African races. I have given the results a classification based on the website firstcycling.com and based on the time-gaps or the absence of them in the result. I could really use somebody to conform the stage profile.

Thanks, been working on it for a year now. on and off adjusting the calculation matrix. And use it to create my own stats for a .cdb file. Have lots of fun playing with it. |

Majka 82 MO, Scarponi 79 MO Chavanel 80 TT, Bouhanni 82 SP, Van Avermaet 82 COB ? I'm Polish but WTF, I won't give Majka that great stat not to mention the other examples.
This prove that this calculated stats doesn't work perfectly. It's very helpful but need to be improved. |
