Volta ao Algarve Stage 1
First stage in Portugal is one for the sprinters but it isn´t that easy since there are some hilly parts in the beginning and the middle of that stage. Mark Renshaw is our man today.
Some nice sprint preperation was done by our team with only 10 kilometres to go. Even our team captain Kwiatkowski supported Renshaw and Steegmans. And again some Giant guys were in front as well.
Great work by Omega, leading the pack into the last kilometres. Richeze was trying to get a place in our train without success. Katusha came pretty fast from behind with a strong looking train for Kristoff.
Katusha was so fast. They passed us even without sprinting. Renshaw had to make his final move to have a chance against Kristoff. Impressive sprint train by Katusha.
It´s getting closer between Renshaw and Kristoff but the Norwegian just made his move out of his team mate´s slipstream so he still got much energy left while Renshaw was at the limit.
Finally an easy and quite impressve win by Kristoff. Renshaw finished second in front of Degenkolb, who came very fast on the last few metres. Still a great result for us with 3 guys in the Top 10.

Thanks to all, indeed that was a good way to start that race.
Volta ao Algarve Stage 2
Last chance for our sprinter Mark Renshaw to get a stage win here in Portugal but yesterday we´ve seen how strong Kristoff was in combination with his brilliant sprint train.
A small break was controlling the stage in the morning with Barbosa, Wallays and Mohorič participating. All of them got 12 mountain points but Mohorič will be the lucky one with the jersey tomorrow.
The group was caught up within the last 20 kilometres. Our team was prepared well for the final sprint in this beautiful landscape.
Again it was our sprint train with the best preperation. Kwiatkowski led Steegmans and Renshaw into the last metres. Team Katusha and Giant came pretty fast next to us.
The sprint is starting right here with Renshaw, making his move. Can he go for the stage win?
1000 metres to go and Renshaw was in trouble since he was passed by Kristoff again.
There was absolutely no chance for Mark today. Kristoff took the second stage in a row, again in an impressive style. Degenkolb finished second ahead of Boasson Hagen. Mark finally got a nice 6th. We´re looking forward to stage 3 tomorrow with Kwiatkowski in a favourite position.

Thanks for all your support, always great to read all your comments.
Volta ao Algarve Stage 3
Welcome to stage 3 and probably the most important stage for our team. Our leader Kwiatkowski has to prove his skills today since there is a quite hilly finish waiting for the pack.
Poels was the biggest support for Michal today when the last 5 kilometres were reached. We decided to lead the pack and set a high pace.
Only a few metres later, Nibali tried to get away from us with a nice attack. Costa, Kwiatkowski and even Kristoff were strong enough to counter his attack.
Nibali was attacking again and this time only Kwiatkowski was strong enough to follow the Italian.
That was an exciting stage finish between Nibali and our leader. Just a few seconds behind them a smaller chasing group was built including Hesjedal, Costa, A.Schleck, Boasson Hagen, Kristoff and even Degenkolb.
Unfortunately Nibali was just too strong in the sprint today. Michal still got a great second place and with only 8 seconds to Nibali, tomorrow´s time trial should be an exciting thing to watch!
The second group was led by Hesjedal and Boasson Hagen. Kristoff finished with 39 seconds to Nibali and Kwiatkowski which means he lost the leader´s jersey.
Stage results
1 | Vincenzo Nibali | Astana Pro Team | 4h52'12 | 2 | Michał Kwiatkowski | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling | s.t. | 3 | Ryder Hesjedal | Garmin Sharp | + 29 | 4 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Team Sky | s.t. | 5 | Rui Costa | Lampre - Merida | + 39 | 6 | Andy Schleck | Trek Factory Racing | s.t. | 7 | Alexander Kristoff | Team Katusha | s.t. | 8 | John Degenkolb | Team Giant - Shimano | s.t. | 9 | Wilco Kelderman | Belkin Pro Cycling Team | + 54 | 10 | Michael Rogers | Tinkoff - Saxo | s.t. |

Boasson Hagen in 4th in Alto do Malhão?!? And Kristoff and Degenkolb on the same group than Rui Costa. That's weird. Anyway, Kwiatkowski will win the final time trial like real Volta ao Algarve and take the win. |
