Who cares! Let's just play the game because it's the taking part that counts

That's the spirit. -- Luigi - For all you know, Marco could never post here again.
Questions are in spoiler ... if you can't be bothered to go to the previous page.

I hated these questions, too.
BTW, will you start a new ranking or do you continue the last round?

@ knockout - When I was younger I probably would have hated them too. Still there is no need to naively whine when you didn't have to take part.....
I'm with stupid 2014 Round Results
1. Name a movie directed by Clint Eastwood
After winning the best director Oscar 4 times there was certainly many well known movies to choose from here, even far the casual watchers. Million dollar baby gets two votes to give extra points to Selwink & Marcovdw.
2. Name a movie starring John Wayne
One of the icons of the big screen appearing in over 140 movies. But which movies scored points here. The original version of True Grit takes the round with two votes. Not surprising we see some John Ford movies being chosen.
3. Name a member of the Country Music hall of fame
We get no one scoring over 1 point for this round. However, some of the key figures in music in general in the 20th century (Johnny Cash, Elvis Pressley and Hank Williams) do get votes along with the father of country music Jimmie Rodgers. Not forgetting Tennessee Ernie Ford whose version of 16 Tons was one of the biggest selling records of all time and probably still is.
4.Name one of the top most populated states of the USA
No surprise the most populated state, California, comes out on top here and scores 5 points for those who picked it.
5. Name a Native American tribe from the United States
Cherokee (with 5 votes) narrowly tops Sioux (with 2 votes) in this round. If more people took part with the aim of scoring points no doubt Apache and Comanche would have scored some points.
Bonus. Name a member of The Blues hall of Fame
The blues is the route of the majority of western music we have here today so it is a bit worrying that some couldn't name a bluesman. But they can hardly be blamed with the commercialisation of music meaning meaningful music such as the blues is overlooked by mainstream media. It weren't until recently that I discovered the blues and I haven't listened to anything but since. Nothing like feeling the blues.
Robert Johnson, who sold his soul at the crossroads, is probably the most well known. If more people, with some blues knowledge, took part no doubt names such as: Son House, B.B King, Buddy Guy, Charley Patton, Blind boy Fuller, rev Gary Davis, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Howlin' Wolf and John Lee Hooker would have came up.

Can you just take a screen of the excel document. A table that big messes up the formatting.
Forgot to participate. Won't next round.

Don't try and jump on the band wagon, i've been doing it long enough where it's expected and doesn't adversely affect the overall game.
Low scores overall were aided by incredibly open questions which all had a ton of answers.

Only 6 participants this round, but who did best?
Question 1: Name a province:
North Holland was named the most (3 times), the southern part was named only once. Selwink shows his love for his province by naming it in Fries.
3x North Holland
1x Fryslân/Friesland
1x Limburg
1x South Holland
Question 2: Name a former Prime Minister:
jseadog1 and rogvi97 technically named a wrong answer, because they named the current prime minister: Mark Rutte. All the others went for Jan Peter Balkenende.
4x Jan Peter Balkenende
2x Mark Rutte
Question 3: Name a Dutch TDF stage winner:
The most named answer was the most recent stage winner, Pieter Weening.
3x Pieter Weening
2x Erik Dekker
1x Karsten Kroon
Question 4: Name a Dutch singer:
The most diverse question of all. Only 1 answer brought you 2 points (Anouk), the rest all delivered 1 point. Some people named a DJ, not a singer.
2x Anouk
1x Sharon den Adel
1x Martin Garrix
1x Tiësto
1x Waylon
Question 5: Name an Eredivisie (football/soccer) team:
Everyone but Selwink have a good sense of football. They all named the best Dutch club to have ever existed (bar VRC, but that's for different reasons): Ajax. Selwink named to worst football club in history: Feyenoord .
5x Ajax
1x Feyenoord
Scoretable:
Congraulations to sieve! It's your turn now!
