The battle for 2nd and 3th place will be more entertaining than the the battle for yellow (just like in the Giro). Contador, Rodriguez, VdB, TVG are the main contenders for the podium places.
I'd be very surprised to see VdB make the podium in a GT at any time in the future. TVG could get there, as long as Evans works for him from the off. Any split leadership will see him out. And the lack of overall TT km's is going to hurt when compared to better climbers such as Purito, VdB and even Pinot and Rolland

For tomorrow: Last time Contador got a beatdown like today, he attacked 15 minutes after the start. So something is really wrong when he doesn't try to fight back tomorrow. But let's hope he does

Because i am fairly certain there will always be three people better than him, simple as. That and he seems to really focus on the Tour which is where the real superstars go.
Perhaps if he went for the Giro he could get a podium but to me he just isn't a good enough climber to compensate for the comparatively poor time trial and team support.

I see what you mean, but I wouldn't underestimate him, either. I'm not saying he's an extreme talent. He's good and has the best discipline of the entire peloton. But he's getting better every year and I'm curious to see him in his top year. With a bit of luck thrown his way, he should grab a podium at the Tour! |

Since when has Contador allergies? I might be wrong, but I think allergies are develloped in your childhood/puberty, not when you're fucking 30.
They can develop/disappear at any time in your life, even when you're "fucking 30".
It makes sense to me.
Since Winter lasted quite long this year, the blooming of trees and grasses got a bit disturbed. Now, the weather is getting better very fast, so there's a high concentration of pollen in the air.
Many people who usually have no allergic rhinitis experience allergic reactions because of this. It means you're only allergic to high concentrations of pollen.
Also, iirc, the TT took place in quite a pastoral region.
All this combined with the amount of air you consume during a TT makes Contador's excuse sound credible.

Contador will not atack tomorrow..this is not GT guys.
You forgetting so easily history and statistics..Dauphine does not mean dick...If you want to find out who is best at the tour.
Btw. this is that to obvious moment also. How fuck Sky can be that good Dauphine and at Tour? (Wiggins last year, Froome now)..even Lance had problems to do that.
Sky some how breaking a rule..good at Dauphine..wont last thrue tour.

Reading what bodybuilders say on their own forums, GW501516 peaks can last longer as 6 months.

correct..Taaramäe had diagnosed asthma year ago..this year ..spring allergy. He is testing lungs every day. Results ..he can use just 75-80% at normal capasity.
Btw. he is looking guite good at Dauphine, still I am pessimistic that can get into form for tour. If so..no way he can last all 3 weeks..Damn!..another fucked up year for him. |

Contador being well of the pace isnt that suprising. Its Dauph, he doesn't care for it and wont run the risk of getting getting caught for something his not bothered with. Once get starts hitting tour juice he will be right back up there.
Its not just froome that is consistant now. I see alot more riders from alot of teams keeping high levels through the season. Two ways to look at it.
Either they have mastered doping to the point there is no risk and can do it throughout the whole season.
Or they are much cleaner, and so where before you'd only dope for a few events a year and be crazy good at them, now its a case that if your a good rider your good and if your not so good, your not so good.
To be honest, I expected Froome to be closer to Martin. I'm rather thinking there might not be any point in Wiggins going for the World ITT because I can't see even him beating Tony. |

Evans broke that rule in 2011 too then, in fact he had a very similar season to the one Wiggins had last year:
Tirreno win
Romandie win
Dauphine 2nd
Tour win
More riders are performing throughout the year and not just Schlecking it, which is great for the viewing public. |

They can have that "peak" form , the problem is maintaining on a steady level , not with highs and lows that in my view is the problem , and it seems SKY has the perfect remedy for that.

Contador has always talked about allergies.
However, this is just an excuse. He doesn't have it anymore, it's that simple.

He won't. That effort would hamper his Tour form

And you think Evans is/was clean?
Dauphine is often used to donate blood by Tour favourites. So performing bad at Dauphine and then beeing good at Tour happens often. Unless you are at Sky of course, than you simply peak the whole year.

Pollen allergies are meant to be worse this year than in ages due to the lack of a spring, meaning all the plants are flowering at the same time as the grasses.

If I read this, I get the feeling that you guys think that every rider that wins more than 1 stage races in one year is a doper.

Well, that may be because you wont win the biggest races clean nowadays.
