There may be a bugs which should be fixed, but I am quite sure we will be transferring to PCM 13. I think everyone wants selective not even mountains, but hilly stuff. I have no idea about cobbles as it wasn't implemented in beta really. And sprints, well should remain similar, there's not that much wrong with them as other aspects of the game.
Great Vuelta, great reports and good fight. Enjoyed Puma's success with Nerz and Keldermann. Should be a vital win for Santander as well.

I'm absolutely pro going for the game that is best suited for this game, but there is a huge difference in playing these games, where you don't interfere with the AI, and then playing the game like it was supposed to be played. I think that is the main reason why this game is poorly designed for MG.
But I definately agree with the gaps, but to be honest the gaps here are much more realistic than some of the previous versions, eventhough it's annoying as hell to have the best climber only taking 12 odd seconds here and there. Before the best climbers easily took 1-2 minutes on every single mountain stage, and to be honest I don't remember a race where that has happened IRL for a long long time.

So in case of PCM13 gameplay AI is absolutely horrible, we would know in time I guess.
As we knew for 12 and we still used it?

I hope that there might be something for us in the last 6 stages.
So far I have hoped a bit more from the Vuelta for us.

Great report, very thorough! Glad to see Nibali having a good ride there, I think his result can be attributed to his downhill stat.

Well, at least Machado got the win. The podium still looks very hard to get.
And great report CountArach, that was awesome. Can't even imagine how timing consuming that must have been!

Squeaky bum time down at Santander, Tenorio is really under pressure with two mountain stages left.
Very detailed TT report there Count - what an effort! You start off thinking how the hell is he going to keep this detail when you started on about the battle between 26 and 24th, but you did. You can feel the emotion of the managers as they see points drift away or possibilities of advancement open.

Rooting for Nibali, after Valverdes misfortunes has put him well out of the GC picture.
Machado could be a real threat, since he clearly is the best climber in the race. If he and Contador can work together, then they might be able to distance Tenorio - though it won't be easy.
Awesome report CountArach, it's been a pleasure to follow this race

Amazing report, but that's very ominous for Tenoiro. Ifhe can't gain time in the time trials, then he will be in trouble in the mountains.

Great report!
Duarte did quite well on this TT. After the last stage I said I hope he could advance a couple of places and get within the top 15. Today, he is in that exact spot! I hope he will be able to to hold on and maybe even close down the gap to Guldhammer.

Solid TT by Uran, but that lost time because of poor placing in the peloton still hurts a lot. He could battle for a podium place right now. Still really nice Vuelta for my team, hopefully my leader can get a good stage result in the final mountains of this race as well.
And thanks for that report from TT, Count. I really enjoyed reading it.

That was a fairly strange TT result. When Nibali did that well I would have expected Tenorio to be better, and when Rujano did that weel I would have expected Contador to be better...
Nibali climbing up ahead of Contador by less than a second is pretty bad, as he could now sit and drag Contador back. Tenorio is still in line for a safe win, while Machado could pose a serious threat to the podium.
Interesting.

Superb report, you're brilliant at those TT, CountArach
Those two mountain stages will be thrilling to read, especially the first one, which looks like an absolute killer. I hope we'll see Machado rip the race apart early and have a true fight between isolated leaders.
Though, hopefully we'll first a have a battle between the sprinters and see Impey get involved in another fight for a top 5. Fingers crossed!

First of all, I want to apologize for my inactivity lately. Real life issues.
Secondly, big thanks to CountArach for incredibly awesome reports, it took me forever to go through. Man, I´m wondering how many hours you had to spend writing this amazing stuff!!! You have my admiration.
And now few words towards the race (from Pokerstars´ point of view):
Stage 1 (short TT): Quite ok as I had no expectations here.
Stage 2 (flat with hilly finish): Great to see Kern as very first attacker on Vuelta!! And very bad seeing Rujano (Uran, Duarte or Eastman were another victims) caught in split and loosing 2 and half minutes. Really awful start for my leader.
Stage 3 (flat with 2 late climbs): Many sprinters with weaker climbing abilities were dropped or got exhausted when we went to the sprint, so Holloway with only one lead-out man had great opportunity to take our first GT win ever. Van stayen´s Red bull energy gel was too strong though and Dan had to be satisfied with 2nd place at finish line after all.
Stage 4 (flat): I didn´t like very much to see Rujano working at the front of peloton. On the other hand, due to his hard effort we managed to build strong sprint train.Dumoulin and Degenkolb prepared great position for Holloway. Quite disappointing 2nd behind Goss was the result. We were really close again!!
Stage 5 (43km long TT): Another 2 minutes for Rujano, but could I expect something else? Definitely not.
Stage 6 (First mountains): Rujano launched strong attack with 2kms to go, but hit the wall several hundreds meters before finish line. However, he finished 5th showing good legs and fighting spirit.
Stage 7 (mountain stage rated as hilly one): I believe this stage should be rated as mountainous with those 2 hard climbs in last third. And we could see 1st successful breakaway. No Pokerstars jerseys were seen in front though. No matter how tough last climb was, 60-men main peloton finished with same time. Strange
Stage 8 (another hilly stage): And another stage for riders in BOTD, unfortunately again without our presence. Jelle Wallays managed to sneak into TOP10 here. 9th place ain´t bad for him at all.
Stage 9 (flat with hilly finish): 3rd stage in row for breakaway!! Unsurprisingly, without our participation again...
Stage 10 (flat with some climbing): We built the best sprint train again (actually it was only sprint train), but once more Holloway didn´t keep his advantage until finish. This time he finished 3rd.
Stage 11 (flat): It would be sin to not utilize such great effort of whole team! And finally, Dan Holloway took our first GT win!!! And as a bonus, he gained points jersey as well!
Stage 12 (mountains): Due to his figting spirit, Rujano was able to finish together with other GC contenders in first group. Should I be happy with provisional 15th though? Definitely not. Of course, Holloway had to take off his point jersey.
Stage 13 (possible queen stage): #13 brought luck to my team. Christopher Kern joined BOTD and surprisingly, they survived until the end. Even more surprisingly, Kern was the strongest and took 2nd stage win for us!!! On the other side, Rujano couldn´t hold the best climbers in final climb and lost another vital time.
Stage 14 (back to flat): We managed to build another strong sprint train, but Holloway wasn´t clearly strong enough. Maybe next time.
Stage 15 (last stage rated as hilly): No surprise that we could see another successful breakaway. GC contenders tried to save as much as possible energy for extremely hard MTT next day.
Stage 16 (28km long MTT with 3 climbs): My dreaming scenario was overcome. After brilliant ride, Jose Rujano finished 3rd, better than Tenorio or Contador!! As a result, he climbed on to provisional 11th place, just 13s from TOP10. Things are getting better for our GC hopes again
Well, that´s it. I can´t wait for upcoming stages, this has to be thrilling battle until the end (or at least until stage 19). Hopefully no stupid splits or crashes won´t affect GC anymore. LET THE BEST WINS!!!

While breakaways was literally a 'pain in the ass' for me last year, it seems like the only way we are able to win stages this year!
That was an impressive sprint from Sagan. He started from the front such a long way from the finish, but luckily got a gap he was able to hold on to. I'm very glad he managed to bridge from the peleton in the start, there.
I'm looking forward to the last stages!
