You could be careless with what you put into your body and get something in your system that you didn't intend on.
Like Contadors "steak"? At that point its just making excuses for being caught.
The team doctor should be checking every medicine being used. During competition the team should know the catering is clean, etc.
I can see some medicines could get in as part of a cream or something, but there are rules allowing for certain situations, and the team doctor has the responsibility to check everything he gives out. Plus the rider should double check everything they are given. I check every medication i get to make sure there is nothing hidden in it, and i don't race!
And what about Gibo and the cocaine cookies from his South american grandma?

Just came in to post that
It's easy to see the peloton is as doped as in the mid 2000s. The climbing times up mountains are the same

A rider who has had results almost entirely in South America then, when he finally turned Pro, started to ride for Androni? Colour me shocked.

Regarding Georges who was also caught today, this is an interesting point:
This will be the first real test of MPCC's commitment to their own principles. I doubt that they will miss these races and isntead it will pass uncommented upon, but it might be worth watching to see what (if anything) MPCC does here.
EDIT: And almost straight away inrng has a more extensive article on it:

Meh, an organization which calls itself "Movement for a Credible Cycling" while having Katusha, Astana or Androni among its members (I know there are other, but these are the more blatant) just can't be expected to act responsibly at all.

I agree.
Also worth noting is that Vincent Lavenu is both manager of AG2R and the MPCC's treasurer. So keep an eye on what he says in the coming days.

There are rumours of that, yes. Think they are doing some 'testing' in California

It seems curious that the team is riding the Tour of California for the first time, when the sponsorship is coming to an end? Possibly hoping to get an American sponsor?
Who knows.

Don't know if this was said yet: DCM canceled their cosponsorship. Belkin is looking into being Team Blanco's sponsor. Also, Hesjadal is apparently quite sick, having bouts of coughing...

I think I mentioned it in the Giro thread.
But yeah, he's lost his voice I think as well. Thats why he had a lot of celebration and thumbs up when he heard Navardauskus won from his team car, if anyone else spotted that today.

Not sure if I'm so happy with Belkin being the new sponsor.
I mean, maybe there are no other options, but I fear that Blanco/Rabo might lose their identity... Also, I think a lot of guys(especially the helpers ofc) have to go to another team. On the other side, Van Garderen(orignally even Dutch roots) & Phinney in the team wouldn't be that bad
