I wonder if it could be Duarte. Work on his recovery and you've got a very good GT superdomestique for the mountains.
Sky training methods and right preparations, he can win GTs.

He's a very good shout. Although it has to be seen if they will go for more experienced older climber than complete youngster.
They do have biggest stage racing talent right now alongside Aru in Joe Dombrowski. As well as Boswell, which could clash a bit.
I don't think it hurts to have 'too many' big talents.
Argiro Ospina could be possible aswell. He is very good friends with Henao but his Movistar contracts runs through 2014.

Earle is a pretty good rider, at continental level anyway. Recently won a stage in the Tour of Japan and finished third in another smaller Japanese race. Did quite well in Taiwan too, winning a stage and finishing in a high overall position. Intrigued to see how this move turns out.

The leap will be less with some marginal gains! |

Interesting signing. He's been having fantastic season so far, young as well.
Sky to me seemed to got another good scoop from GreenEdge hands.

I always forget that cycling is not football which has nothing like some transfer ethics, but also in cycling you can change teams when under contract right?
Yes, its possible. Although i believe its a case of the team agreeing to terminate the contract they have so he can join the other team. I believe that's what happened with Cav and Sky.
Obviously, there was still an exchange of cash somewhere, you cant officially "buy" riders from other teams, and its very rare i think.
I think the Earle signing is interesting if only because it suggests to me Porte is being allowed to start getting his own domestiques. |

Belkin Pro Cycling Team is interested in Peter Stetina.
(Dutch source: https://www.wieler...elkin.html )
Not really enthusiastic, personally.
I mean, I know who he is, and he had good results, but that's all, nothing amazing, and not that young.
Someone convince me

Solid climber. Solid helper. American. Ticks all the boxes and comes cheap for sure.
Not a winner, but a rider that's good to have in a team.

@Selwink Yeah, thought the article was from 4 June 9'o'clock, so searched until there in the topic. But it was from 3 June
@Isso Definitely convinced now
So you understand why I want TJ van Garderen
@Alak Yeah, but I hope that's not all the Americans they sign, hoped for better ones secretly. Problem is that most of them don't have a contract running out. Still hoped that Belkin would bring in a big signing, since they still have some Rabo money available. But well, can still happen.

Which Americans do you rate better as Stetina?
There is Phinney/ Van Garderen -> way too expensive. There are Talansky and Farrar who I don't see leaving Garmin.
Then there are the Ex-postal riders Danielson, Zab and VdV who are way too old.
You can hope for some of the young talents like Craddock but no way they are going to Belkin over BMC or SKY.

Talansky, Bookwalter maybe. Or a big talent(e.g. Dombrowski, but they probably won't let him go + contract. Maybe Craddock?). And yes, hoped for Van Garderen, would fit perfectly, having Dutch roots and used to ride for Rabo CT. Or Phinney maybe.
And that was my point, I hoped Belkin was able to invest some money, since a lot of wages will, even in 2014, be paid by Rabobank, still.
I might be a bit overambitious, here.
@Miguel Would be great, haven't heard anything though.

There's no way Van Garderen or Phinney would leave. They've got huge paychecks at BMC.
Stetina would be an excellent signing, imo. Hard to find another climbing domestique of his calibre for a low price.

Belkin is quite a big sponsor, but I doubt they even come close to matching BMC's budget. So take those riders out of equation.
Talansky is a possibility, realistic signing. Doesn't have much need to leave Garmin though.
Dombrowski? Makes non sense.
And I think Rabobank will only pay wages for 2013, due to the sudden leave from cycling. No way they will pay any of the wages after Belkin is confirmed main sponsor.

Yes, they will. Posted the link somewhere in the Cycling section a few days ago. Going to search for it I think.
And I said, Dombrowski probably doesn't make sense. But I just meant a talent.
