Yeah, I'm pretty sure that if hehad wanted the stage win he would have gotten it. However, Rabottini definetaly deserved it after that unbelieveable performance.
One thing though, Keissen, or however you wright it, go sleep on a bed of nails! I finally remember to include you in my manager team and you DON'T go in a breakaway?! Screw you!

Didn't he win in Grossglockner last year in these conditions? |

I dont think Rodriguez gave that stage, he just made the last km one long sprint, and had no power left to drop Rabbottini. |

Were there sprint points available for the victory? Why would Rodriguez let Rabottini win if so?
Personally I think Rabottini took it because he just had a little bit more power in the final metres |

I am not sure he'll do Giro next year. Porte already said he wants to lead the Giro squad for Sky and I'd say Henao has a fair shot at the Tour team which should be much more mountainous than usual.

Don't think Rodriguez cares that much about the five extra points he'd get for winning the stage. If he really wanted to, I reckon he'd have won this.

Look at Purito face ..and effort before the line. No reason to be gentelman for him today. He gained 25 sec. extra time between main rivals..this takes your sprinting legs. |

About Purito giving the stage or not giving it, Rabottini says Purito yelled at him "Vince" (win), and that's when Rabottini jumped ahead.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that he gifted the stage, he doesn't make even a minimal attampt at sprinting. I don't really like the gift of a stage win, but well, better to a guy who was in the breakaway than to a GC rival or to the first former team mate you find around.

Btw, don't know if it's posted yet, but Thomas de Ghendt rode the last 2.5k on a completely flat tire.

No one would have remember Purito winning this stage, not even himself. The one who will remember it for the rest of life, however, is Rabottini. He had been in a monumental breakaway, but without the stage win it probably wouldn't have been remember for a long time.
It was a nice gesture.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rodriguez didn't sprint at the death (and credit to him for that) but HUGE credit to Rabbotini because before then Purito wasn't hanging around - it was a phenomanal effort to stay with him to "contest" the sprint after being away for so long. |

Also Ryder rode well on the 15th stage just 30+ away from the Maglia Rosa.

Another boring stage, this race should be the most interesting GT? The other favourites bar Rodriguez and Hesjedal are giving these two too much space with steady pace up the whole climb (Szmyd every climb leading 5 kms or so). They should try to tear it apart form the start of the climb and Rodriguez and Hesjedal would be in bigger trouble.
Probably the opponents does not believe in J-Rod and Ryder and wait for third week to crush them, i dont believe in them either, still Basso,Scarponi and Kreuziger are the favourites for me.
But even the California was more interesting

Just watched the stage then, regardless Rodriguez gave him the win or not it was a truly amazing ride, he rode with incredible courage. Most riders on their own with 70km to go would have probably dropped back. And Pozzovivo was disappointing.

Totally agree with you, the lone break was just awesome and he came off on one of the descents as well |

You know the three last mountain stages right? They are way harder than any other stage this year. THere is no point going all in when you have the last three mountain stages waiting.
The Giro overall been quite boring, I agree, but they are all really waiting for the last mountain stages.
