my understanding was the expansion pack is installed which automatically updates the game files. then the fix is selected as the db to run with which will ensure one is running with the expansion pack + the fix to the expansion pack in db format. am i missing something?
yes, select the fix db as your db.
The fix is the expansion pack db + a fix for spanish riders stuff so it will still work.
You can only select one, but the fix is the one you want.

fair enough. so this may be a dumb question - but the expansion db was available for download via a thread and took all of 3 seconds to download. so what is the 2.7gb that needs an installation. so what doesn't the db include from the expansion pack? i apologise for my rookie ignorance once again. believe me though...this is all increasing my knowledge dramatically!

the db, is just the stats of the riders, and it links the game to many different things. However for the db to work proberly all the things required/linked to in the db need to be there in Program files(aka the download that 2.7gb)
Without that the game would crash as its missing tons of pictures, jerseys, stages, and many other graphical files.
What you want to do is download the PCM daily Expansion pack (2.7gb)
Make sure you have all three files through either a torrent or multiupload
Click the first file to initiate the exe file
Make sure it installs all the files to the correct path or else you will find errors
Then once done make sure you have the Fix cdb in the correct place
after that it should be good to run.

i've got pink flags for some countries after downloading the DB and fix
should the files be installed to "My Documents" or to "Program Files"?
edit: doh, i should learn to read
put them both in the same place, rather than the fix into "my docs"

the DB is awesome, but in final version i think can be much better, because yet have a little bugs and other minor stuff.

Any bugs that are found in this version will be fixed for the next release, which is why this one is a public beta.

This year they are just free, because CrueTrue said that a lot of people were mouning about game crashes when clicking on suspended riders. |

When ever I create a career it seems I have a legendary coach by default which raises my staff costs through the roof.
For a small custom team, having a legendary coach from the get go is a bit steep. His monthly fee was just over half what my entire team cost per month.

My newly created team for testing got 2 legendary staff members costing a total of 55000 per month (just those two). One month without firing them would put me deep into the reds.
I get around 76000 to cover my riders, which leaves me with another 69 000 per month to cover for the staff. And there is no way I can get that amount of winnings per month with a team.
So my point is. For a youth team with limited funding, it's unrealistic and a bit stupid to start with legendary staff members that sends your team into the reds unless you fire them and go without for around half a year. |

I still have problems with this DB.
I installed the exe file.then there are new stages and new sponsors.but some names are still in correct. then i downloaded this minor fix, now the names are correct and some stats were changed but the game crashes,when i want to play the australian championships.
pls help me!!! |

if i want to start a career with a custom team, the rider region is pre-set in spain. although i change it, all the young riders still are spanish. someone else have seen this? |

I believe this is nothing to do with the PCM daily DB in particular, though, as it can happen with any database. It's just how the game works,

Young riders are primarily based on your nationality when creating the new career. If you pick spain at the start, most of the young riders will be spanish.
