Always cool to see a former loanee taking his first professional victory Congrats sean!!!
On the Iranian cycling discussion, Abofazl Gilanipoor has at least one career victory (80km solo mountain stage win at the 2018 Vuelta al Colombia), and I think I've seen at least one more in his post-Xero career. Definitely a cool moment for the country though from a young guy, given Gilanipoor, Moazemi and now Khodayari have declined!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I wonder if this is the first win by an Iranian in MG history.
Hossein Alizadeh won 3 Youth Jerseys for us in 2013 if they count, but no GC, Classic or stage wins from him or Alireza Ashgarzdeh.
I know Bjartne had a few Iranians back then too, think he was even a Central Asian team back then.
On our race it looks like we didn't have a strong enough sprint train despite bringing both Einhorn and Zijlaard to the same race.
Don't think Lazkano or Natarov will get top 10's in either of their chances to lead us judging by the field so this might end up being another very low scoring race for us this month, at least all our Feb races were without our main leaders so far.
EDIT: 3 youth jersey, not 2

Antonelli being second in the KOM is nice but overall that wasn't a good stage for us.
Hopefully the team will actually ride for Scaroni now he's the only one capable of getting us any points from the GC.
Congrats to Assa Abloy on the big stage for them and Sean for the Stage 1 win

Wow, what a stage for us! Great job by Boswell to join Gesbert on his attack and lead him out in the sprint. Nice teamwork!
On the flipsside, AHJ lost some time today which is not ideal, but I guess it’s all on hands on deck for Gesbert tomorrow anyway. The climb should be too long and hard for him, so not expecting anything, but crossing my fingers the GC lead will help him find some extra power!

Congrats Sykkel and thanks Abhi for the reports!
Three top 10’s in two stages is promising. But it will all depend on the last one to be honest.

Bit weird to see us pulling so hard in the peloton but the lads worked it to (almost) perfection. Makes me seriously regret not sending Santi to classics with this kind of profile but if he can hang on for a good gc position here I'll definitely be happy anyway.

Not much to say here. Did not expect much.
Congrats Sykkel_Freak for the win and thanks for yet another great report Abhishkek! |

Guess Tediashvili sucked all the luck out. Well, Beniusis on for breakaway win, help out with the goal lad

Congrats Sykkel_Freak, every French winner is a good winner!
Ranaweera didn't lose time, so all is set for the final stage.

Hmm, that was sleepy Sosa from early last season - the rest of the punchier guys made it count and he didn't. Conceding time to Padun definitely wasn't needed. Still as others have said tomorrow is for all the marbles.

What a team effort! Really impressed by Gesbert, but even more so Kvist! 3rd best finisher from the peleton is an unreal result for him. Nice to see AHJ up there as well!
While it’s a shame for us to see the break run away with the GC podium, it probably also played into our hands with less action in the peloton. Overall I am really happy with 5 riders in the top 30, the points jersey and team classification!
Congrats to Specialized and thanks for the reports, Abhi!

Never questioning Battistella's wage again, mega ride from him! Also lovely to see Bellan in second. Teams GC would have been the icing on the cake for us but will for sure take a stage, GC, kom and a top 10 from Barguil.
Thanks for the reports

Congrats WJ
While I love a suprise win and a break winning, I hate it at the same time. Really scary while waiting (still a while) for Galta to start his season

looks like stamina had a big effect on that climb and probably some medium mountain as well.
Awesome result WJ and Quads (who's absolutely flying to start the year) unlucky to those with leading climbers that did well Duvel and Trans for sure! |

Congrats to wj for a huge surprise win here! And thanks to Abhi for the reports, although especially the last one didn't have good news for us
So now back to the cobbles and Zepuntke, who's probably our best bet to get a win after it's now officially more than a year since our last one

Nice to see Scaroni coming home 11th GC, a little surprising the break held on and take the top 4 spots on GC but it was nice to see as it probably helped us out a little.

Well I was upset they let the break win that and then I saw the rest of the results and it didn't really matter to us.
I am assuming Sosa felt bad for Bikex about how bad McNulty was in Tirreno and decided to even things up.

What a bizarre race. No idea how that happens, not just at the top but looking down at the depth spots. Happy for Olesen though! Never would have had that chance with us.
