They should.
Ez points for random shit stat absolutely useless rider whos highlights include leading out one of the best sprinters in the world two seasons in a row in every single race. You let the man whos had success ingrained in him to lead a race and he delivers. Too ez, bunch of ticking warscore and likely points jersey too or at least top 3

First of all congratulations to Zalgiris and Bonduelle for the stage wins and thanks to bbl for the preview and nemo for the reports.
Initially I was quite hopeful for this race as it should suit Teuns and Alaphilippe quite well. But until now it was a complete no-show especially from the latter, which is even more frustrating as he usually even shows up when he's against pure sprinters. But nothing's lost for the last two stages and even some good GC results, if they start to compete ...

McCarthy looked strong for a while, but seemed to have faded eventually. Good to see Storer in this group though, he hopefully will seal the U25 competition tomorrow!
Guess we were lucky with no gap rewarded for the front group. Don't think McCarthy will shine in this race anyway, but at least we have him and Storer still in the mix now.

Really happy with Masnada's ride once again, when he actually cares about the race he's often very active in those stages. He didn't seem to have much left in the end, but given the names ahead of him, 6th is more than OK. Unlike tsmoha, I'd have preferred to see some gaps awarded here obviously
Moscon being in the second group is good to see, so we still have two potential GC contenders in the mix. I guess Schmid did a good job as well, staying with his leaders for most of the stage and now sitting in 5th in the U25 standings. Maybe a breakaway tomorrow to finish off his stage racing season in style?
Congrats to jandal, great to see Houle finally getting his stage win - I guess he'll take home green, and it's looking good for the GC as well Good job their fellow Kiwi team Air New Zealand as well, rocking the KoM standings so far
On the other hand, commiserations to Volcanica, with Kump having just another awful race, throwing any leftover chances of staying up away I guess.
Thanks for the report!

Sucks that Raim couldnt make it, at least Reis did, so we should add some GC points too in the end

If that's Houle's last career or Xero win (though his stats aren't that bad yet next year) it's a very well-taken one, lovely lovely stuff As Fabianski said "finally" getting his stage win after a subpar race but really a subpar year from him, but going out on a high clearly.
A tough stage tomorrow should surely see our new yellow jersey attacked but would be so special for him to also finally get his GC win for us after so many near misses in different races if he can somehow stay with the puncheurs for another day! Could be much easier if he'd done better on the flats of course.
I've been meaning all year to tell the reporters that our Canadian NC jersey wasn't included in the downloads and now I'm regretting not doing so since we got a celebration screenshot of Houle missing Ezeefreak's awesome NC work
Love it as always from Meurisse, he's taken himself to another level at his new team, still okay with how it all shook out but miss him and Rowe a lot, transfers of the PCT season from HelloFresh?

Schultz was in the front group and lost no time so thats good for him! Hopefully he can have a good final stage and get us some more points! Been a fairly good race so far for us. A top 10 or higher would be ideal

Keough not terrible on the two sprints but not exciting either, thought he might have one more win in him but I guess not.
But Boswell was invisible in S3 and very luck not to lose time. Better hope he is more active tomorrow which is a little harder or this will be another debacle in what has been a string of them.

Lander disappointing but he was the favorite without support.
Wanted stage 3 to be more selective, especially with Olesen doing the work and Aranburu in a good spot. Once they did nothing up the tough climb, we was never gonna match the pure puncheurs and fighters on gentle slopes and flats. We'll see if tomorrow goes better or worse.

Expected win by Houle.

Shit positioning again from Borges, what’s new. Could have challenged for the win if he was paying attention. Not good.
Thanks for the report Nemo!

I'm rather disappointed that we haven't been in a single breakaway so far, but that was a decent performance by Ndayisenga on stage 3. If we come away with one rider in the Top 10 and/or two in the Top 15, that'd be a good result. Thanks for the reports so far Nemo!

Love to see Houle winning, even though I would have loved for it be Xandro taking the win, but this proves that we prioritised correctly by sending him here! Thanks for the report!

Nice to see Kinoshita grab a stage win, but the correct rider in Hugo Houle won the overall in this Tour Down Under 2.0 race.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH WHAT THE HELL
Unbelievable! Houle in his last race as a maxed rider finally finally takes a GC win after so many near misses for us. Absolutely amazing!!! And it seemed so much like he was finished even when the peloton was still at 40 riders, and then to not only come back through the peloton on the climb to stay safe, but to close the gap to Kinoshita himself to save the jersey and get 2nd on the stage, what a ride!
His GC history for us has been three 2nd place finishes, lead races 5 times before now, a 4th place and lots of other Top 10s, and now at last this win. Love it. What a legend Much like Bennett in ToA I don't necessarily think it's a swansong, but if it's the peak and capstone of their Xero career it would be very fitting.
Also just all-round a flex of a race for us, a podium on every stage for the first time ever including a stage win, plus the GC and Points jerseys. One of the most successful in team history for sure from that point of view!
Thanks Nemo for the reports! |

Lame race/stage with anonymous Amaysims. At least we got a white jersey here for just hanging on to the guys, who went for better stage results
Congrats jandal and thanks for the reports!

The De Luna Magic dried out, but instead we've got the Pernsteiner Classic in 9th. He's basically what Robov did last season - a late year surge with very good result. Don't know what would this mean ranking wise though - we have better GC position than any of the BNZ riders or our other competitors. Guess, I'll wait for the pre Zuri Mezgette rankings to find out.
Thanks Nemo for the reports

Wow, that was pretty much a perfectly ridden stage by our riders! We clearly can't do anything about competitors who simply are stronger, but we got far more than expected out of this.
First of all, Schmid finally, finally joining a good breakaway was great to see. Lavery was a tad stronger, which is fair. 3rd in KoM plus 3rd in U25 plus some GC points - that's easily his highest scoring race of the year.
Then both Masnada and Moscon obviously must have felt good, with Basso putting in a huge shift - although he didn't quite manage to catch Kinoshita, he once again proved his worth. His two fellow countrymen then really got the best possible result out of that sprint, with Kinoshita in a league of his own today, and Houle simply way faster on the final meters.
For Moscon, it's by far the best GC result of the year, and only his 2nd stage podium (both in C1, by the way) - good to see he still has it! And Masnada just outperforms his hill stat time and time again, getting another strong C1 GC result.
On top of that, I believe we actually won the team standings (PCM rarely gets them right in case of s.t., but the calculation tool does, and we have a far better tie-breaking value than Indosat) - which might prove my previous statements about us not being ready for PCT wrong.
In any case, the boys seem to be ready to go for our win goal race in Zurich
Big congrats to jandal on yet another GC win - I honestly thought the climbing on stages 3 and 4 might be too much for him, but he just did a perfect job. Great to see him cap off his maxed career on a high!
Kudos as well to Teuns, who narrowly missed out on being the best CT rider here, but still scores some good points for Le Creuset.
On the other hand, commiserations to McCormick and Volcanica. For the former, Boswell had a great start of the year, but lately has been just awful - no clue why. It can't really be his skillset, but PCM still decided to ignore him. Same for Kump, who should have been Volcanica's big hope to still somehow avoid relegation - and ended up with a big fat zero (I think) being the defending champion... Feeling sorry for you
Last but not least, thanks to Nemo for the reports you did all season long, helping to keep the game running
Btw, ranking updates will probably come late tonight (where "late" is relative to CET ofc).
