Not much to comment about from an Evonik POV. Would have been nice to see Dzamastagic joining the sprint properly but it was obvious that it would be unlikely in the first week after seeing the startlist.
Congrats to swifty Zwift!

Stupid decision to send 3 riders back to Minali, who obviously is dropped on every hill.
Luckily it were the 3 non climbers and the 4 climbers were left in group 1.
Good to see Gaviria sprint again to 2nd despite leadership. Seeing Swift winning another GT stage in late career, is even nicer though. |

Quick info everyone, there's now a bet for the GC win open in the MG Betting section. It runs through wednesday evening, I figured it was fine to start it as long as it's still only flat stages. Good luck!

Leadout broke down sadly with Riabushenko missing, but still a very good result.

The team is doing a very good job, but Grosu just doesn't seem strong enough to deliver anything. Three stages and not even a podium is quite concerning.

Matt Rowe is alive! If he hadn't declined we could have won a stage already but instead we're just outside the top 10. Come on!!!!

We delivered it to Gaviria on a silver plate but sadly he couldn't do ist the job against an insanely good Ben Swift. Maybe he cares too much about intermediate sprints, though it's nice that it keeps him in the sprinters jersey. We soon need that 2nd stage win though to get back in the lead and make the attendance of the race worth it. Go Fernando!
Also: right now the leadout is doing one hell of a job which I love, great work especially by Riabushenko as the last man.

Swift is channelling his inner IRL Mark Cavendish at the TDF! Amazing back-to-back wins as he continues to climb the MG All-Time wins leaderboard. Holding the GC lead in Spain without Tenorio on the team feels weird but we will certainly take it.

Really good sprint results, I have to say! Perhaps worth noting, as someone mentioned in the version discussion thread iirc, that it looks like these stages did not get the "very wide and straight roads" treatments. Not sure if that's what makes it work or if the trains are just put together very well.
Also a quick reminder that you have just over 12 hours left to bet on the GC winner!

Bah, we left it slightly too late. So not a good result, we need to take back the red jersey as soon as possible and need a couple of more wins. Maybe skip a couple of intermediate sprints for that Tomorrow should be a good stage for Gaviria, if he doesn't get the "top 3 don't sprint"-treatment which shouldn't be there in a GT though. Hoping for another good Ria-Gaviria story!
Thanks for another good report!

Again missing out on the podium though today was so close it could even have been a win.
Even though I'm not gaining anything from it, it's great to see the sprints working quite well here and their sprinters finishing at the top.

Great to see that Dzamastagic joined the sprint trains properly this time. Hopefully thats a sign for later sprint stages when others are more tired from the mountain stages.

Nice stage actually, the profile suggested we might get a breakaway win, with those rather late climbs, but the peloton was awake and the break was not allowed to shake the GC too much. Although Swift had a bad day and lost it to the other sprinters.
