Gotta be happy with that, ttt’s have always been our Achilles heel so it’s nice to actually put in a good performance for the first time. Dunbar can hopefully sneak a top-10 and take white later on. Congrats Gustav! Good win. Thanks for the report too

Kalaba the sprinter I can rely on, even though the leadout screwed him over slightly as well. Happily take a podium though.

EBE in the top-10? I’ll take it
Congrats on the win! Another day closer the mountains makes me nervous - I hope so bad we can take a top-10 GC place from this.
Thanks for the report!

Safe through, which is all that matters for us on these flat stages. Now though, comes the difficult stages, and we need Galta to get the positioning right, and also good daily form. Hopefully he can keep up without loosing time on stage 3, as the big climb on stage 4 should suit him better. |

Great to see Reinhardt finally doing something smart - looks like not bringing a leadout worked well this time. There's nothing wrong with finishing 2nd I guess - although I find it funny that Lutsyshyn was strongest after a pretty bumpy stage I'll never understand the PCM logic in that respect, but it's working pretty well for Reinhardt as well. Now he'll just have to survive stage 4 and give it another go on the final day where he finished 2nd last year.
But first it's time for Nairo to actually do someting useful on the next 3 stages. Well, actually on stages 3 and 5, as stage 4 usually went to the breakaway and saw close to no time gaps among the top climbers...
Congrats to P4E and thanks for the report.

Thought that kind of stage would be well suited to someone like Bouglas, but my team thought differently. Definitely not gonna complain with 5th place from Guldhammer, as that's what I would have wanted from Bouglas anyway. I just hope he didn't use too much energy to get it done.

Would have hoped for a bit more from Zhao there, but as long as Shikai can stay relevant in the GC I'll be happy.

Sterdy defense of the yellow by Gesink, I'm impressed. I guess this will be our last day in the lead though. Let's see how it goes tomorrow.
Congrats on an impressive win, bbl!

It's the kind of stage where I can't expect Uran to be at the front, but all in all the time loss is minimal

Guldhammer on something chronic this season, he just keeps delivering. Congrats bbl!
Dunbar doing what we expected, great result. Hopefully he can keep in front of Bernal tomorrow too.
Thanks for the report!

Great start for us! And special mention to Kireva for grabbing 4th in the sprint. What a beast.
Happy that neither Bongionro or Denifl lost any time. Hope the good form continues for the next stages but I’m convinced we will lose time in the TT.

Not the best 1st half of race, especially our performance in TTT was somewhat "weird" - again.
Let's hope for massive improvment in upcoming stages, would ne nice to find Latour in Top 5 and Bernal in white jersey after last stage.
Thanks for the reports!

Argh, so close from Galta! He really had to be part of the first chase group to get a decent GC here, as now it looks really difficult, with too many riders gaining half a minute on him.
Admittedly I'm disappointed he couldn't keep up seeing there was 17 riders in the group, but we can only go again on stage 4. Fear his positioning will be worse now that his GC is bad, but hopefully he goes all in again.
Congratulations to bbl! Cool to see Guldhammer great again. Even getting a gap is big, and it sets him nicely regarding the GC too. |

Woooooh!!!
Thanks for the congrats guys! I knew this stage was suited to Guldhammer, but wasn't expecting it to go that well! Looks like he was near the front waiting to pounce from the time the climbing got started. I wasn't sure if his attack was too early at first, but when that second kick left Pluchkin behind, it seemed to be fate. Just one of those good days I guess. Winning is fun. Wish I made a stage win goal this year, I actually would have had a shot!
After a subpar TTT, that was really a huge stage for Rasmus's GC chances too. Getting that 14 second gap and the time bonus puts him tied for 4th on GC now heading into the high mountains. It puts us on essentially equal footing or slightly ahead of some of our biggest competitiors, instead of working from the back of the field still. Obviously it all depends on daily form, but we have as good of a chance as anyone to stick in the top 5 or even do better.
Not to mention, Guldhammer is now leading the points competition with his 5th place in yesterday's sprint. With two more stages where he could score points, that's not an unrealistic secondary goal for him at this point. KOM I'm less optimistic about because it will likely go to a breakaway rider.
Good riding by both Olesen and Eg too here. Olesen managed to even stay in the front group, with Eg just behind. Obviously not expecting much from those guys, but it's nice to see them near Rasmus, and maybe they can even snag some minor GC spots in the end. We don't have the strongest team, so any help they can give could be race changing.
Thanks for the report!

Nice to see our dual leaders in the front group and jumping massively up the GC after out dreadful TTT.
Hopefully now they will be able to climb a bit higher up the GC list as they seem to at least have the legs to hang in that group and didn't look troubled at all even fi they didn't try attacking themselves.

Obviously I've had more than my fair share of good luck this year anyway. I'm due for some bad luck.
Well, if that bad luck is followed by a stage win, I'd take some of it as well
Congrats, PCM20 really has a lot of love for Guldhammer. That stage perfectly suited his skillset though, admittedly, but getting a gap here is huge.
Happy to see Nairo and even Masnada hold onto the first group; I guess this was the stage I was most afraid of. If the favs take it easy tomorrow and the breakaway wins it again, it all comes down to the TT lottery - let's hope the AI gives us some love then... But maybe I'm wrong and Nairo either destroys everyone or completely cracks tomorrow - seeing how it went until now, I'm rather afraid of the latter...
Thanks for the report!

Nice race.
Seen from outside, great that the puncher profile provided some sizeable time gaps in a stage race. Sad for those that took them of course.
