I was thinking before this season how weird it was going to be seeing Michael Van Staeyen winning PCT races and showing up in their results so I'm very glad PCM has decided that he won't be doing that for some reason.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Yay! What a win. Afewerki having a really good season so far, which is great because we have been lackluster elsewhere

On one hand, AKA did do exactly the thing I said he didn't do yesterday - go too early and fade. Luckily though, he didn't go so early that he fell out of it completely. Since I didn't expect him to sprint at all while wearing yellow, how can I be disappointed here? Another top 5 is great! Second in the points standings after 2/3 sprints, so still a chance to win or at least score in that too once the GC has been reshuffled. His consistency so far this year has been a godsend.
Huge congrats to Aidan on the win! Perfect rider and perfect team to take a stage here.
Now to hope that Guldhammer is in as good of form as his sprinting compatriot.

Logged in to moan about Zabel's repeat of stage 1 but instantly forgot about it reading the amazing performance by new recruit Nikias Arndt on stage 3.
Dieteren took any pressure off the team by getting in the break.
Costagli did a great job of protecting Arndt up to 15km to go. A good sign as he is down to do the same for Nerz in the ToA.
Arndt then just kept a steady pace not chasing any breaks keeping enough energy to use his sprint finish to gap the opposition and win the stage!
Costagli hung on for 30th and Helme managed 40th which puts him 2nd on Young Riders and Kraftwerk third in teams.
An outstanding stage for Kraftwerk, now the team need to step up to protect the jersey.
Thanks for the reports Ulrich & LLS.

Very disappointing from Mas but he'll have a chance to make up some time in the stages to come!
A great result indeed for you Dave, Zabel certainly a bit of a let down but more points available in the GC anyway

Well that stung. Waited so many years to see this, but Guldhammer just had nothing to give. After he shined in Tirreno, I figured he would do well in this startlist, but instead it's a pretty disastrous performance. Especially when you consider that Warbasse worked himself out of any minor GC spots too. Really silly for Warbasse to keep pushing when Guldhammer is already isolated other than him in such a big group. Guess Olesen had a bad day cause he was sorely missed in that situation. The result is that Guldhammer doesn't even make the top 10 and loses almost 5 minutes in a race where he was a 3 star favorite.
But more than anything, it's beyond embarrassing that Guldhammer got outclimber and outclassed by Marc Christian fricking Garby. Of all people...
Well, no use wallowing in it. Points wise Guldhammer's GC was always the priority, but PCM giveth and taketh, and AKA gave us great stuff earlier. Although, come to think of it, AKA has kind of been the only one meeting expectations this year. Hopefully that changes.
No idea where we go from here. Guess we'll see.

Think CT is already looming for us. No one is meeting expectations. Too early to say for Penasa perhaps but this was a disaster.
Congrats to Kraftwerk and thanks for the report

Wow
I can't ask for much more than that. Well I guess Alarcon could've won also But this was a very good performance
Looks like Alarcon was on a good day given how many times he attacked. He went from quite far out which looked a bit risky, but it's good to attack on those days. Maybe if he rode more conservative then he would have a better chance at a stage win in the end, but I think it was the correct decision to make it a tough race. Those gaps that were made could be crucial given Alarcon's weakness over the hilly stages that are to come. Staying in the top 5 now looks pretty doable
Also I had some worries about the team's strength as we had to control the race for 83 MO Alarcon. Gilanipoor had a great day and stuck with the favourites for a long time, even finishing 16th in the end. The fact we are leading the team classification shows how well the team did. I'm pretty sure we won't win it, but if we take any minor pts from it, that would be a welcome boost. As well as currently having 3 riders in the U25 top 8
Thanks to Ulrich for the report and congrats to Kraftwerk on a great win

Big disappointment from my team. Four riders in a breakaway and 0 mountain points and nothing special from stage result.
Thanks for report Sanchez.

Good stuff by Eyob, if he can hold one to the Top 10, I'll be happy. Underwhelming by Ndayisenga for sure, but it's neat that we have a shot at the team classification with him and Uwi in the Top 25. Hadi Top 30 as well.
Good stuff by Tesfatsion, being active in the breakaway. Hope we send someone more potent up ahead in the next stages though.
Congrats D2B, very nice performance by Arndt!

Hoped for a bit more when the sprint started, but I guess Spilak´s attacks right before the finish line killed him a bit. In theory a second place in GC is very much doable, but we´ll have to wait and see what pcm says about that. A shame to see Guldhammer perform like that. Great report again, also great copy pasting by LLS again congratz Kraftwerk!

Good to see Rasmus get some revenge for yesterday. Pomoshnikov keeps performing well everywhere he goes too.

Okay, okay. Fine. I guess that does make up for stage 3 a little bit.
In all seriousness, I was not in an optimistic mood after yesterday, but Guldhammer performed awesome today. After seeing the favorites list, I did not expect the stage to be that selective, but once it was, I knew it favored his skillset. His 70 sprint came in handy on the flat finish and might have been the difference maker. Love to see it.
So, Rasmus has his first Carlsberg win! One of those things I dreamed of since he was on B&O and I first started my team. It just feels so right. Hopefully the first of a bunch this year. Into the GC top 10 too thanks to the gap and bonus seconds. 8th is a still a realistic possibility, but right now it's more about just doing the best he can on stage 6. We can't control time gaps or how the competitors do. Let's just try to prevent a repeat of stage 3.
Up and down race for us in general, but two stage wins out of four is generally not something to scoff at. I've gone half a season without a win before, and we've had 2 in 4 days. AKA has predictably been near the back the last couple of stages, and might be a little wiped. If not, tomorrow is a chance to assert himself in the points jersey fight. Hopefully he sprints even though it's probably his turn not to. Maybe the intervening stages restarted the wheel.
Thanks for the report!

Congrats bbl, great day for you! Happy that Guldhammer was able to redeem himself. What a tight podium race this is shaping up to be, gonna be a very exciting final stage.
For our team, Eyob continues his convincing performance and stays in the Top 10, which is awesome. I feel kinda confident that he can keep that on the final day, as hills should suit him well, but nothing is certain Good stuff from Uwizeyimana, super disappointed with Ndayisenga, not even in the Top 50 of the day. But Hadi is picking up the slack and we've now got 4 riders in the Top 30 as well as the lead in the team classification. Without a bona fide GC threat, this is about as good as we could have hoped for, I think.

No action for us. Just Talansky making up some places in the GC. Still no one bothers getting in the break.
Congrats BBL and thanks for the report

I didn't expect for this stage to be as selective as it turned out to be. I'm even more surprised Alarcon hung in there until the end. There is always a bit of "what could've been" in the end since he finished 4th out of the 4 riders and missed all the bonus seconds, which could be very important. But I'm delighted he was there and defended his GC podium very well. I'm still worried about stage 6, but Alarcon has done very well so far
As expected we drop out of the team classification battle. It was never on the cards with all the average and unmaxed riders in the team. Hoping for a quiet stage tomorrow and for Alarcon to have good legs on the final day. Congrats on the win BBL
