False start for us. And I thought it could only get better after Maksimov missing out on three top-8's in Southland
Thanks for the report and screw Volcanica and their similar jersey for tricking me into thinking Manninen was second for a while Congratulations to them and winner Bralirwa though

Halvorgoat appears to be a worthy investment so far, happy to see PCM kinda consistently likes him

Congrats to Bralirwa. Good to see Ewan and Howard not being glorified leadouts but instead just being fucking useless. Wonderful start.

I could not have been more accurate! Holy f*ck that was weird for a sprint race with the #1 favourite from T3A.
We didn't chase the break at all? (Ok i'm actually happy with that as it fits our expectation of results better, but worries me a lot as the AI is not that smart at all). We didn't make a train? (Ok i'm actually happy with that as well, but again worrying as the AI isn't that smart and we've made a train with this exact set-up already this year). Ewan didn't seem to even be actively participating until the final few meters? (This one i don't like as not even trying to get on a trains wheel means we're only ever surging late from way too far back to be a contender).
It feels heavily like Ewan was being used in the same way a GC contender rides on flat days. Staying quiet but mostly forward, and only being dragged up late courtesy of his stats and not his AI behaviour.
The upside of this being now he's slightly down in the GC perhaps the AI will race him more aggressively in the Stage 2 finish. Which could put us in a good yo-yo position for this rage (bad stage 1, better 2, worse 3 & good 4 to finish the GC overall).
Basically, this new PCM AI yet again is behaving in rather odd ways and Ewan and T3A are cursed in this goddamn race!
I'll be suggesting new Caribbean options for next season

Must be said though as it might have been gone under the radar in the report, that there was a split in the peloton, which didn`t lead to a gap in the end. Most of your sprint helpers were behind, which surely didn`t help Ewan. That said, shouldn`t have been that far behind obviously.
Guess Ewan was waiting for a train, but his team mates were gapped and only came back then. |

Ah, so our bad AI was caused by a different type of bad AI. Makes 7th seem quite good, knowing the AI could have just sat him up until he got a train!

Color me impressed! Amazing result from Boivin! It seems my 2 sprinters are doing some heavy lifting this season. If they keep it this way I might change my mind in regards to sprinting stages.
Being bitterly disappointed by the team's results in general led me to having no expectations at all. It seems that is paying off for now. If we get another good result here I'd be really happy, if not I am still thrilled with this one.
Congratulations to Brawirla for the win! |

Always nice seeing former riders doing well. Great second place for Boivin!

We really need Silvestre to perform in these types of races. He's ridden one race so far this season and won it, which I don't expect to repeat here, ...
Who said the game was random and inconsistent?
Very happy with that, obviously. Looks like it was sound strategy to go for a sprinter with high flat/res/acc and no leadout train. This result already puts us in a good spot GC-wise, regardless of how the AI treats Silvestre now as a GC leader. This will also be the first time for any Bralirwa rider to don a yellow jersey, so that's amazing! Thanks for the congrats and thanks for the report!

Decent enough start for us here, can't expect a whole lot from Lutsyshyn on a general basis, so any result is something I will gladly take

Three teams chase, same three teams forms sprint chains, results 8th, 12th, 15th. Not very encouraging.
Hope the GC placings changes the AI behaviour.
Congrats to cunego and thanks for the report roturn.

Well, we spun the wheel and the sprint lottery didn't come out on our side this time.
AKA's had some good luck this year, and he was due for some bad luck (or in PCM's case, just not trying). Looking back, I might have preferred the bad luck in Tirreno where no points were at stake, but meh, that was too much fun to pass up.
I just hope he'll get shuffled into the mix during the next few stages, and this isn't a sign he's not sprinting here in general.

Well, now that Silvestre is no longer in the GC lead, I'm sure he'll start sprinting again tomorrow

I'm liking this new Bonifazio! Or perhaps just two flukes in a row, but as long as he doesn't get dropped somewhere I don't care.
Also good to see the best sprinter win, not giving up on PCM20 just yet.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I can't believe we actually won a stage
Luckily this good position on Stage 2 will impact on Stage 3, allowing Ewan room to perform on Stage 4 for the good GC result we need. Long way to go in this race and a lot of lottery still to play out.

Looks like we got lucky this time. Saber with a very good 5th place. I wasn't really convinced him taking Siric's wheel at that point was a good idea, but they proved me wrong. Siric seems like he did a good job getting him a better position. Also seeing one NC jersey leading another is a pretty awesome sight
Saber claws his way into 10th in GC. Probably need one more result like this or two with just a few bonus seconds to keep that placing.
Congrats to TMM for Ewan finally winning

So our main leadout is behind, and we still decide to build a train even though it failed yesterday, and we don't even replace Hodeg so we end up with an even more comical failure than yesterday
