Argh, not another great manager who consider this to be his final season at the MG. I really hope you will make another decision, regardless of whether you sell/swap off Kinoshita.
A great opportunity for the managers chasing a big star though. Very decent wage too.

Definitely crazy to see Bagioli’s wage actually go up! A very expensive talent indeed so hopefully you can find a home for him.
Expecting a fair bit of action from you with the wage cap available if Kinoshita leaves. All the best!

Very interesting availability post! We'll definitely talk
Not sure we have the greatest interest in Kinoshita, as he and Kwiatkowski will then be forced to slightly overlap each other. Though, the Kuroeda brothers are very interesting, and we are likely to be interested in and wanting to take on Bagioli on a loan too. Looking forward to the discussions and interaction that will hopefully follow |

No I can't see Kinoshita somewhere else. Build an amazing promotion squad around him, or even just a ridiculous hill train, let him have his last dance with his team. Nobody remembers Wizards MJ
Kuroedas available is very tempting though!
Spoiler Bagioli what?

You certainly got a very good wage out of Shikai at least. Bagioli... yeah. Not the ideal circumstance, but especially with talents it's very hard to know how low you can get them coming off of big FA contracts. Definitely a big blow to have to pay asking price year 2 though.
Nevertheless, Bagioli is indeed useful, and you'll get takers for that loan arrangement if the fee is sizeable enough. If this is indeed a final season type thing though (I hope it isn't), might be worth considering your other options with him. He's certainly a valuable asset.

@ red - Yeah, I compared similar talents wages, what they got in FA, and then what managers were able to bring them down to from previous seasons so I thought my offer was pretty fair tbh, but immediately Bagioli was insulted. Some others I was too aggressive which meant I had to offer a lot in the last round to ensure I actually signed certain riders... I thought last year I wasn't aggressive enough, so tried the opposite to no greater affect really.
@ SotD - Thank you. I want to end on my own terms and I've been pondering it for a while now. Kinoshita is a big part why I continued already a few times.
@ LLS - Yes, he must have compromising information on his manager or something
@ ember - Great to hear. I think we will definitely talk once transfers begin.
@ jandal - Hmm definitely convincing me to keep him
@ bbl - Yeah true. I think I'd like to keep him as he's really the teams future if I do continue, but I can see your point about offloading him and attacking the standings one last time. If it is indeed the last season anyway.

Kinoshita is for sure a bomb to drop from your team, personally I'd like to see him move up a division but it would feel weird to see your team without Kino, such a franchise rider!

I hope, very hard, that you will not let this season be the your last!

Hello all!
I have sadly decided it is my time to stop my involvement in the MG.
Wanted to get that out of the way, in case anyone doesn't feel like reading the rest (fair enough )
I would also like to say, I'm extremely sorry for holding up any off-season logistics. Roturn had reached out to me a few weeks ago, and I was under the assumption that Roturn got my email reply, until I went on Skype today.
I have enjoyed my time in the MG immensely. Inspired by a trip I took just before joining, I decided to build a team of (mainly) Japanese/Asian riders, at a time when the majority of the best riders in the DB were from Western countries. Over the years, I've had a lot of great results, like promoting to the Pro Tour with a full Asian squad, harboring Damiano Cunego for his final peak year, with a Giro Podium (iirc), winning the KOM with Choi at the Giro, Shikai winning the ToA, and finally Kinoshita winning LBL this year. Most of which would not be possible if those working behind the scenes hadn't inserted riders such as Kinoshita or Shikai into the database, despite it not being "realistic".
Even despite these highlights I haven't had the time/motivation to visit the site frequently like I used to. Getting older, having different responsibilities and goals does that I guess? When I started I was just entering High school, and now I've graduated University, traveled, taken a gap year and have a career now. I knew it was time to end, when I almost missed Kinoshita's LBL victory.
The last few seasons I changed focus a bit to see what I could do with more lenient transfer restrictions and I have found myself talking to a lot more managers than I did in the past, thanks to having a wider net of targets, which I'm thankful for, having come across so many amazing managers I may not have interacted with if not.
Truthfully I think the last transfer season or two were a bit of a struggle for me as well, having to juggle the time differences and other responsibilities which I didn't have when I was living in my parents basement (I miss it).
A massive thank you to everyone who has ever been a part of the behind the scenes work on the MG! I think I can attribute atleast some of my skills I use in my job now thanks to my passion for the MG in my formative years (also no one can beat me at a name the country flags contest irl).
As I've said this game has only had positive impacts on me and will always be something I think back on fondly.
Thanks also to everyone that has ever been a part of the MG. I can still remember certain conversations about riders etc from my first seasons or discussions about races, or pre-season predictions, and it has always been such a pleasure.
I think I'm starting to go in circles, so I'll end it here, but really thank you to everyone helping, or involved in the MG at any point. Especially those that help with off-season work, or with reporting. Without you all, I wouldn't have all these great memories from over the years.
If anyone ever wants to chat, I do still hope to visit from time to time, and will follow the MG from afar.
Valv

Sad news, mate. Still remember to the good old Meiji/Oz days (finishing our first season second-to-last and last, iirc). It was surely fun to play this game with you, valv, you will be missed!

Thanks for the nice time with you in the game.
It was a long time since we joined 10+ years ago and even though we didn`t have a lot of transfer season clashes, we definitely had some, when in need to get a bigger target.
Always a pleasure to have talked to you all that time and you will surely be missed.
Hope to see you around from time to time and last but not least, you didn`t slow down any offseason tasks, despite the email struggle. |

Really sad to see you call it a day. Not completely unexpected of course, after your pre-season announcement, but still sad that you couldn't find enough time and motivation to continue. I was hoping that the return of the Tour of Japan might convince you to stay, but alas.
Thank you for all the time and energy you put into the game! And I guess your team is a great example of how MG allows you to bring a country from nowhere to world-class if you're committed to any focus region! Kinoshita and Shikai are two really great riders, and the Kuroedas are fun anyway - not to forget about Hayakawa or the now declined Itami. I don't remember if all of them were riding for you at some point - but they likely wouldn't have been that strong if not for your engagement! Thank you for being part of the game for so long - and hopefully you'll return some day! Until then, I'm sure that Abhi will take good care of the Japanese project

I don't think we ever had much transfer dealings. I think I took one of your riders on loan and that's about it. We did have lots of battles on the road with Beltran and Kinoshita, which was a lot of fun
All the best in the future!

Very sad to see you go! It leaves a big gap in the MG world in terms of the Asian population but I am sure some of the other Asian teams will be foaming at the mouth with some of the riders that you are sending into free agency!
You've had a great run in the MG and you can be very happy with that, hopefully you feel the ick to come back in the CT in a couple of years!

Sad to see you go Valv but life moves on. Too bad we couldn't have spent more time racing against each other in the same division.

This sucks. I always really admired your team and the way you approached the game, as well as your focus. You leaving will leave a big hole in the game going forward. All the best mate, hope to see you back here again one day.

The game really won't be the same without you valv. Our focuses never lined up, but we always got some words in when the European contingent went to bed during transfers. I loved watching your team from afar, and the game loses a lot with its end.
For some reason I'll never forget our heated debate about Levi Leipheimer and Christian Vande Velde in the 2011 USA PCC thread. I was very new to the site and it got pretty heated because of my insane immaturity. For a long time I looked back and cringed about how I could behave that way. Now I know it was just a couple of kids finding their niche passions a little too passionately. I hope you're leaving the site with a better impression of me now.
Best of luck in life valv! Please stop by!

Only occasionally had transfer dealings (Onodera is still my favourite loan-in though) but always enjoyed them and one of my favourite teams to compete against for these PCT years - and when I first started in the game thinking about the part African focus you were obviously a huge inspiration going even further with your Asian one. Guess in terms of going through your teenage years doing this I have been following you a few years behind!
So happy for you that this final season contained that LBL win with your legend Kinoshita, just awesome. Guess looking up in the thread you have me to thank for convincing you to keep him for another year
As bbl says the game won't be the same without you, it's been an absolute pleasure doing it with you and wish you all the best
