Not the greatest start from Paillot, as we need him to be in the top 5 in this kind of field really - especially as our TTT team is basically just talents who needed XP. But at least Kemboi pulled another win out of the bag, so thank you everyone for the congratulations. Makes the training feel worthwhile, even if I'm now scared of his next wage demands |

Does Kalaba know he is a sprinter?

I guess I can be happy with Scully finally somewhat doing his job and avoiding a zero-pointer here. However, I still can't find any reason why Salleh is ahead of him again, having much worse flat and RES. Well, maybe in stages 5&6... He has already done well in prologues so far, so with a lot of luck that could be another Top 10.
What's really worrying though is seeing no single teammate even close to Scully, given that at least Merino Criado should be a good leadout for him. That probably explains why he ran out of steam so quickly...
Congrats to Berg, and thanks for the report!

I guess that's about where we should be according to the preview - 10th time, shared with three other teams. A bit surprised we're almost 20" ahead of Farfetch, but I guess team balance may have made quite a difference here.
At least Mäder has climbed up to 8th in the U25 standings, which will be pretty much our sole source of points here - if Scully doesn't step up a bit on the next two days. That would of course be the goal, though...
Congrats to Duolingo, but as well to Repsol for defending the GC lead And thanks for the report, redordead.

Lovely TTT, three riders in the top eleven and Kalaba in white. Now we just need to hold on to these positions on the final stage

Well, did not expect to lose the TTT, but it's only by 1 second, we can live with it in terms of GC times

Brilliant! Beating Repsol is a TT event is an outstanding result every day of the week. Pretty sweet to see our men rise up the ranks. Just a shame Howson lost 1 second, but hey it's just one second.

OK, it looks like I should only send Scully to stage races with more than one flat stage, as he needed that first one to wake up
Great job this time by him, showing everyone that he actually CAN sprint, even without the least amount of support by his teammates. Now let's take a great result in the epilogue and move up inside the Top 8 of the points standings, and we can be more or less satisfied.
Thanks for the report, and congrats yet again to Farfetch... it gets a bit boring

Rather no news than bad news on our side. Hoping Kalaba can hang on to white tomorrow despite making no attempt for bonus seconds

Two stage wins for Kemboi is nice, although I will always maintain Stage 3 was stolen from him
Now to see if Paillot can rescue a top 20 or even better in the final TT, although I wouldn't mind if it turns out to be one for the prologue specialists and Kemboi can steal another podium. Looking like a decent enough haul for us here considering our aversion to TTTs, though Repsol and Mapei will take huge chunks out of our lead nonetheless. |

We have to compensate the Jelajah domination of your team

The big question - will we successfully pull off the elusive 0 pointer

Catching up, didn't send a strong enough TTT team and Schädlich dropped out of the top 10.
Cav sprinting quite well for top 5 places.
Thanks for the great reports redordead.

Zmorka fantastic all race, continuing to dominate the season as i expected. Kittel again incredibly disappointing in stage results, but he managed to keep the podium place, so we are good with it.
Salas this time unlike Upsala, really bad on stage results and almost dropping out of Top10 because of it. Can't understand how he's losing in GC to Haga and Van Rensburg... Postlberger 11th is nice, and having all the team is GC scoring places is awesome.
Team Standings win was obvious before the race, and just a shame that sprints weren't more "shared" between more riders, as Zmorka can only be T3rd there with two stage wins
Overall i'd say we've taken less points than we should have, but it's ofc a huge amount what we got

What a horrible epilogue from Scully! It looks like the PRL stat really does something only up to 5km, and from 10km onwards has zero impact. Someone told me it was 20km, I guess that was fake news ^^
The only positive thing to take from this stage is Mäder defending his Top 8 spot in the U25 standings. 8 points from these 6 days is quite far away from being acceptable in the end. OK, we should never have come here anyway, but it's still disappointing.
Thanks for the reports anyway, and congrats to Repsol for an expected strong showing!

Congrats to Aquarius & Marco for big ponits haul & thanks to redordead for the reports, I do like the red/green number system for the TTs
Schädlich managed to get back into the top 10 & Gough squeezed into the scoring positions, every point counts in a relegation battle!

AC continues to be infuriating. We continue to make leadouts, which we all know is the worst plan for sprinting. Our weird, baffling, cursed, season continues to provide just enough hope of survival to prevent me making HQ posts about the future
But a fun race nonetheless, a unique mix of TT's certainly impacted the GC and the sprints were interesting if weird
