How is Habtom the second team leader on the game's start list and doesn't even compete in the sprint Sending more than one sprinter to races (more of those will come) may have been a planning mistake. But Naesen got 3 points for the green jersey in 13th place, those may come in handy, so eventhough he dropped one spot both in that classification and the GC, it wasn't a completely lost stage. Congrats to Abhishek! Iirc, Boev was a draft choice, right? Pretty stellar returns on that

Well, the one time we don't bring a sprinter and hope for Mundle to do a late attack, he obviously does nothing... Can't be mad, though. Hoping for some attacks tomorrow!
And Boev... He already has two wins more than both my sprinters combined, guess I got something wrong... Congrats nonetheless, Abhi! Great pick!

Not much to say here since we didn't bring a sprinter here. Would have been cool to get a guy in the eventual BOTD, but I always figure breakaways will be scarce when we bring the minimum riders to every race.
Let's see what happens in the stage of death.

So I have talked to the guys on the bus and apparently Brown and Gunnlaugsson wanted to ride for Gunnlaugsson but Menicucci though they should ride for him. And things became heated so they all refused to ride and dropped back to the peloton. Then Brown and Gunnlaugsson attacked as a big F U to Menicucci.
And when that didn't work they went back to arguing and managed to be the only 3 riders dropped.
Very proud of our boys today.

Great stuff from Boev and the team to pull off the victory on this stage. Makes up for the bad luck on the first stage. Hoping we can carry this through the last stage, which has the potential to be brutal!
@cunego: Yeah Boev was a draft pick Already worth it!
Thanks for the report Marco

Huh, Maes actually did something? On a goal race as well! My hopes, they are rising. |

Finally, that stupid race is checked off. Hope it was the last time we had to participate here...
First slight disappointment of the season from Basso; he should definitely have made it into the Top 25, looking at some other names... But well, 0 points expected, 0 points gained. Next one, please.
Thanks to Marco for taking on this race, and congrats to beasty Baugnies! Definitely keeping the promotion push alive for the chicken lads!

Oh man I don't think I had been this nervous for a MG race yet and I kinda feared that I could only be disappointed - and I was. Okbamariam in 8th place overall on its own is a great result, but seeing Naesen struggle so much all day and eventually even falling out of the Top 10 was a bit of a heartbreak. Not to mention we missed our Sponsor Goal.
Congrats to Nemolito, Baugnies looks almost Summerhill-esque when he turns it up and these are the perfect races for him. Although I feel for liefwarrior, to lose out on the win by such a close margin twice in a row.
Thanks for a great report Marco, wish I could have appreciated it more

Great race by Sbaragli, getting 3rd is a top achievement. GVA should be a bit ashamed after riding so strongly the three days he was beat by his teammate but having two riders in the Top 5 is great stuff.
Gratz to Captain Nemolito, you can always count on the GOAT Baugnies!

Oof. Sinkeldam just had nothing in this race. Never expected him to win or podium on a flat profile, but top 10 should have been the absolute minimum for him, and he just completely blew up instead. Very disappointing, especially considering how strong De Vreese looked. If we had prioritized him earlier, he might have been able to get a podium today.
Sinkeldam has looked increasingly garbage as the season has gone on, underperforming quite a bit after a good start. Luckily Warbasse has overperformed enough that Ramon and Asbjorn haven't completely tanked our hopes yet in the standings. But we can't keep slipping this much.
Congrats to Nemo! Thanks for a really great report.

Wow, did not expect this! Exactly what I hoped for before the first stage, but I had the feeling Baugnies just wasn't feeling incredible. I just hoped he would get a top-3/5 place at least, and was spared from bad luck. During the stage, even nearing the end, I really didn't think Maes would have been dropped, but then all of a sudden the gap started to form, and Baugnies did something Summerhil-esque indeed
Our previous race was our first classic win, and this one our first GC win, and with the pprd this brings in (and how Naesen disappointed) it seems like we're still in the battle for promotion, but of course the cobbled season is really over now, except for some C2 one day classics maybe. Still, looking very good for a top-10 now
Even though Ulloa with 70 cobbles should have done better in the U25 imo, I can't complain with how the race went. Great job by Strava as well of course, and still congratulations to lief for scoring a very nice amount of points as well and winning the green jersey
Thank for the report(s), Marco! Definitely not the easiest race to report on, but it was very easy to follow the chaos going on, hope you can say the same of my Zepuntke-report tomorrow
Thanks all for the congratulations, everyone will receive a coupon for a free LPH bucket! (with chicken in it, just to be clear)

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Congrats on the victory, and thanks for the report. If Maes can get another runner-up finish next year that would be mighty impressive. |

Pretty cool to see some former riders being successful here.
Sbaragli with potentially his best stage race performance in his career while also Bovenhuis did very well.
Maes was in a good position but couldn't respond to Baugnies today. |

I'm a bit disappointed in Thomas and happy that Abraha managed to spet in his leader's shoes and finished in the top 10 on stage and GC.

Great work from Paprstka once again to get back from being dropped and then claim 3rd on the day and 5th in the GC! Much like Boev being a draft pick proving his worth, Paprstka at 50k is proving to be an incredible signing! Bovenhuis did well too to get back from being dropped. Van Lerberghe a bit disappointing with the result but he did follow attacks which was good. I think we did gain some advantage from those moves as well.
We came for a Top 5 and got it, irrespective of who gets it. Good depth scoring again with the GC, stage win and high placings in the Points and Teams standings. Really happy with this result and the two cobbled races so far this month.
Congrats on the win Nemolito Thanks Marco for the great reports! Please keep reporting our races
