Wow, I had a small hope for Higuita to get in the breakaway, was not expecting a top 25! Brilliant result for him, a shame it's not going to be worth anything to his points total but very cool all the same
Pretty exciting buildup and finale for a sprint finish on the Cauberg, congrats to Bikex! Skujins oh so close

Thanks for all the congrats, it's great to see Lutsenko finally get his first big win for me. That was really close in the end. At first I thought Lutsenko started his sprint too early but thankfully it was enough in the end and the Evonik guy didn't pass him before the line like in Grand-Duche. This win takes some pressure away now for the other two hills classics. Maybe from Gidich I can expect a little more, but Quita and Azman managed to get a top 50 so at least some more points from other riders than Lutsenko.
Van Garderen seems to be really strong this season, getting another podium here. De Bie might has missed out on a top result here, but I'm sure he'll do better in his two home races.
ISA again with an unexpected strong result with the rider from the break in 12th. Their performances are really impressive so far.
Thanks for the great report Nemolito, it was a pleasure to read, especially with that result |

So close to the victory but 2nd is awesome and I'm very happy about this result. Another fantastic race to conclude an outstanding month
The whole team looked very strong all day long, always in control of the splits in the peleton, lots of helpers well positioned until the leaders took over and Skujins didnt seem to be wasting any energy at any point and was positioned very nicely for the final push. Very close to the perfect race here.
Congrats to Bikex. Deserved winner after doing lots of work in the final and probably looking the strongest on the day. Quite cool to see the big investments you made into him, finally pay off for a big victory.
Mohoric with a quite disappointing result but understandable considering that he went for the brave attack from 20km out and just was too tired to hang on in the end. Kwiatek also a disappointment for me, think he should be so much stronger than he showed here. Same goes for Koretzky.
Thanks for another great report!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Not the first time Sequera is out best rider in a hilly classic this year. I get breaks are our best chance in races like this, but Teuns should really do better than 84th and Talansky should really do much better than 139th. Didn't they literally get dropped in the exact same way in Wallonie? What the hell is this.
Oh well, congrats Bikex! Lutsenko may be no Dennis but he's pretty good I hear. Great report Nemo.

Happy to get 5th here, although it was looking like 3rd could have been possible.
Thanks for the report and congrats to Bikex after a disappointing Giro with Reis.

Congrats Bikex!
Formolo got dropped quite early by bad positioning. The fact that he managed to come back shows that he was actually quite strong. But after that effort he couldn't stay with the big guns sadly.
Not a lot of points again, but nothing we can complain about. We just don't really have a great squad for the pure hilly terrain this year.

Ouch, that was very disappointing from Kwiatkowski, I have to admit. He was never really in contention, as it seemed like he struggled with positioning in the early key parts of the finale, and then he just wasn't anywhere near strong enough when the splits among the contenders started.
Where Wallonie was a great day, this was a bad day. Good that Kwiatkowski is on the plus side seeing the season so far!
Great win by Lutsenko! Congratulations, Bikex, that's definitely a statement from Lutsenko moving forward in the Ardennes. |

Madouas' brilliant breakaway performance and Doubey surprisingly making the Top 40 compensate for Demare's mediocrity and basically elevate his 15th place to a Top 10 spot points-wise.
One day he'll have a good daily form and actually surprise in one of these...
Congrats Bikex!

Having 15 riders of 81+ hill here, which is more than Demare has, I guess 15th is quite accurate for him and not really a sign of daily form.
Guess even with a very good daily form, he would struggle to get much more than maybe 10th or 8th. |

The issue is less the missing stats in-race and more the bad positioning because of his missing stats pre-race, when the AI decides on who to keep at the front.
So if he one day lucks into good positioning in the key moments and combines that with the daily form to stay up there (and the stat gap to TVG who podiumed is definitely not big enough to require +5), he certainly could make the final selection and have a shot at winning.
And nowhere was I saying he had a bad daily form to end up 15th.
