Should have sent Preidler, but given that he is terrible on TT dunno if he would have fared better

Not a bad stage, surprised my team sent Predatsch in a break while leading and considering his stats....
Buchmann to take the GC lead is great, hopefully he will grab more time before the TT. Davila hanging on for extra points is great aswell

Nice effort from Vichot. Shame there were some even stronger puncheurs in the break, making it hard for him to get the KoM jersey. But he's in a good position to attack it now at least, so hope to see him active again in later stages. Also good for Gallopin's GC chances that the stage wasn't particularly selective, but I had hoped to see him further forward in the sprint. Anyway, hope the next stage plays out similarly, although that's less likely with the uphill finish.

Let's go!!!! Not only our first win this season, but the first win for Simon Yates in a Desigual jersey. Hopefully many more to come.
PS (cunego59): The podium photos for the points and KoM classifications are switched. Also, excellent report.

Nepomnyachsniy survived the first hill stage, but tomorrow will be a bigger challenge.

Good of Claeys to disappoint this early, can we focus on Haga now?

Not much to say except for a few minor surprises. Another gorgeous report cunego, thank you!
Congrats Mre, nice to see Yates deliver!

So far quite good, my team looks attentive and focused on the main goal. Just a pity Bernal couldn´t keep white jersey more than one day.
Congrats Mre, I´m still waiting for first season win.

Borisavljevic with a pretty strong effort there, Ulissi didn’t lose too much time either.
Borisavljevic needs a good performance in the ITT which he is more than capable of.
Hopefully a strong performance from my team in the final 2 stages as well.

Gallopin did well, but the time gaps became much bigger than we wanted, so a top 10 result is looking increasingly difficult.
Good stages by Hindley and Stork also.

Awesome racing from De Plus and Oomen, that's what I want to see! (even at the cost of the youth jersey)
Thanks for the entertaining reports Cunego!

That's too much time lost I'm afraid. Would need a big overperformance in the TT tomorrow to be back with a chance.

Stage 2 went well for us with Paulinho getting another very respectful place. I just don't understand why the team was not more active during the stage.
Also stage 3 showed Paulinho capable of fighting with the best, unfortunately he broke a little in the final part and lost a few seconds that may be missed in the end of the race, in this stage we already put someone on the break and that is what I wanted to see.
For now I can't complain too much because if I remove the TTT where we are a disaster the rest of the race has been to my liking

Haga with a limited loss, should gain a few places tomorrow.

Chaves puts in a very good ride today, putting us into a very nice spot to look and secure some vital team points. The TT still scares me quite a bit, but hopefully he can put in another really good ride and secure his position. Gesink will surely pull away, but hopefully we can get some time on Buchmann and contest that 2nd spot.

Indeed, that was a nice surprise to see him that high up the order.
I hope he can take a couple of points for you somewhere!

It's good to see Gesink actively trying to minimize losses to Buchmann who seems to be in a league of his own.
Izagirre has been absolutely anonymous. I can't complain about that but his really should be a race where he would excel at.
Anyway, tomorrow is the ITT stage. I'm hoping we can get a good performance from Gesink. It's probably the best chance we have of snatching the yellow from Buchmann.
