I wonder if Alunderis now leads the RTG crowd in chasing breakaways with his captain then winning the stage/race. Helps to be working for these fantastic Quickstep riders.

Thanks, Abhishek! I'm pleased with Alunderis, he did a lot of work for Hodeg and was best of the RTG riders on Willunga Hill. Nice for the team to win two stages, though sloppy work by Hodeg on the other flat stages, eventually losing the points classification by a single point.
Next up, the moment of truth. Alunderis should be the captain for Oro y Paz, two mountain stages... if he doesn't pick up GC points here he never will.

Probably the most important race of the whole season for Alunderis, Levente, Cerravalos and Abdessabour. It's their chance to actually score some GC points. Despite being listed among the favourites a top 10 seems highly unlikely considering our terrible secondary stats. But a top 20 maybe? Go Virginijus, make me proud!

So far, so good, no time lost.
The ds told the team: "I know it's unusual, but you all have to support Virginijus in this race. He's still not comfortable on the flat, Garrison, it's your job to get him to the final climb in good shape. The rest should try and exhaust themselves by setting a steady high pace up the climb, Alunderis does not like quick accelerations. Virginijus, try and stay near the front, maybe even ahead of some top favourites. Follow an attack by a top rider only to get a gap to the rest and then settle for your best pace. Good luck!"

I was only dreaming that Alunderis would be the captain or make the top 20, he was beaten by his team mates Almeida (MON 73) and Baglioli (71). Unless stage 6 is any better, I'll be in my corner crying quietly.
But congrats Levente, huge result!
