On paper it can only be Kelderman, such goes for all CT hills.
Will be interesting which riders come closest andare able to challenge him regularly. Moscon, Edmondson, Juul-Jensen, Barbin look interesting clearly with Zaini an unknown |

Glanbia has no rider on the favorites or outsiders list. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2020/Micros/gla.png Haas fell just off the list and is desperate to prove he should have been included in the first part.
About sums it up! |

The first real test for Eiking as the new team leader of Gjensidige.
This might be an indicator if selling Bystrøm was smart or not.
We are READY

He did well last year for me, his new 78 surely brings him on a new levelnow. Not yet winner type but surely someone who can show up regularly.
Always having a soft spot for former riders, so going to hope for a good season by him. |

Kelderman and Moscon are definitely the most dangerous but I hope some miracle from Barbin or if by any chance will come to the group sprint to Korošec.
But we defenety must not forget for the other who doesn't have hill 78 but I think they can definitely do some miracle special if the Kelderman will be escaper and they will manage by any chance to catch him before the finish. I mean Kelderman is on the paper the strongest one but we saw in PCT with Caleb Ewan how is going.
Hope on the miracle

Got to cheer on our former cyclist and home country favourite Alexey Tsatevich! Oh, and of course, two of our loan-outs are here with Bralirwa looking after Ben Nasser. Maybe they will show their faces in their first action in the MG peloton.

Thanks, great report with some nice level of detail. Sad thing: almost zero mention of Strava. Is this our new destiny as an also-ran and pack fodder? Doesn't bode well for the new season, but at least Felline secured a Top 20. Roux on hard off-day or jus tnot good enough for fast finishes like that.
Gratz to Keldermerckx.

Of the first 30 riders dropped six of them (at least) were Pollos, and then our "leader" Bru finishing 66th. We didn't expect anything so it's all fine, Guave taking no points as well makes it a perfect start of the season imo
Thank you for the great report, Marco, thank you for thinking about the losers as well
Also, congratz Abhishek!

Centovalli are on a roll - if they keep the momentum all season long, they'll be instant promotion candidates

Did anyone say Moscon can't sprint? At least uphill, he definitely can!
A shame he was sleeping when Kelderman attacked, but as the reporter mentioned, finishing 2nd behind the presumed hills dominator isn't a shame at all. It's a great start to the season, taking 125 points with 4 RDs is definitely cool
However, I'm a bit sad no other rider made the Top 25. But as they all worked hard for sleepy Moscon, that's explicable. But next time, either win the race or let Philips do that work

Amazing report Marco! Very detailed read to start the season. Thank you!
Was hoping for attacks from further out, but it sorted itself out in the end and the puncheurs were supreme. Can't complain.
Congrats to Philips for a worthy win from Kelderman. Didn't even seem he was trying! Moscon also showing how dangerous he is. The very end was not uphill and his low sprint clearly didn't hold him back as he surged forward. I think he'll be a huge force this year.
As for us, I'm quite happy with the result. Juul-Jensen already with a podium this year. He was well positioned, the team had plenty of guys around him despite not being the strongest on hills, and he executed well to score some opening points. If we can do that consistently, I think he can have a lot of success.
Very impressed with De Vreese as well. I thought he'd be a quality protector, but 9th is well above any of my expectations. Him scoring is just a great bonus. He'll have a varied schedule this year, so hopefully he continues to show strength.
Thanks again! Very excited for this season.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Not taking any points obviously means the exact opposite for us. And having a rider end up more than 30 places above Bru, isn't a consolation either. Here's hoping we'll end up scoring points soon and still seeing Bru finishing 66th. Maybe then, we'll be happy

What a weird feeling to be reading reports with one's own riders in the race, very cool Honestly, this was pretty much best case for us. Moise Mugisha with some Rwandan representation in the breakaway, and then Ben Nasser scores our first points despite poor positioning at first. Khederi and Ndayisenga in the first group is also encouraging, even if they didn't score. Speaking of, if I'm not mistaken the Top 30 get points here, no? Doesn't change any of the notes at the end of the report, though.
Thanks a lot for the quality report Marco, and congrats to Abi, Fabianski and bbl. I'm especially happy for JJ, having reported on so many of his struggles last year it's cool to see him shine a bit, hopefully that will continue throughout the season!

Top 25 according to the 2017 scales which are still valid iirc. Top 30 is for C2HC stage races.

Such a disappointment from Barbin. I think I need to suspend his payment if he wants to behave like this but on the other turn a nice ride from young talent Knox.

Very disappointing performance from Hoelgaard, hopefully just an off-day but otherwise could be something of a concern. Good work from Smirnovs to make up for his co-leader's impotence. |
