What I think could end up hurting Gazelles chances for a replicate is the changes to the calender. I think the cobble changes won't make things easier for Teunissen who was one of the best cobbler and also I think the changes to hilly stages will make those versatile allrounders worth less than they was last season. Had it been PCM 2015 I would have rated Gazelle as a team around 8-10th - with 2018 they are probably a contender for a top 3 - but I have taken some considerations in regarding especially the new hilly setup. And there I think Gazelle might be one of the bigger "losers".

Great to get a detailed preview like this. So far all of your analysis seems quite but spot on, but I do not agree about Grieg. I think you are a little bit harsh on them there. Wisniowski alone is probably almost enough to not relegate imo. |

Great preview so far, nice insight. Think you got our team right, but I have a feeling we're going to surprise some people regardless.
I'm annoyed at how much you're underrating your own team though You have an easy top 5 side yourself.

Boooring, you shouldn't have signed 3 of my former riders if you wanted to have more credibility

Nice SotD! Not really looking forward to the words about my team I guess we will be ranked just as low as we are in alpabetic order
It was much more fun last year when we ranked high up in PCT in all previews... |

A nice read so far, but looking at Grieg I doubt your judgement. I think Grieg will be more likely a top half team than a relegation squad.

As I am very much in common with SotDs preview of Grieg, I guess it's really an unknown season for them seeing quite a few having exactly the opposite idea.
I would be surprised if they survive. Though it depends on their riders off from that trio really. |

Pretty bang on with us. Had quite a number of deals for big leader types lined up that all fell through and by that point all major free agents had expired, so we just went with the remaining unmaxed riders we could find to make the inevitable drop next season a little easier also 500k+ wage cap left from memory, also had quite limited time this transfers + preseason which didn’t help. Planning wise, things went surprisingly well so we shall see what happens.

Good read about my team. I agree that this year relegation could be a danger for me, but if I avoid it I have a good base to improve from in the seasons after.
It remains to be seen if my climbing department is really stronger this year, as Denifl is definitely a difficult rider to replace.
You forgot to put the correct ranking from last year for my team, btw. Also you spelled more of the featured riders incorrectly than correct. |

Thanks for the nice read.
I think you did some good points about my team. Mohoric needs training, that is for sure, but he might suffer from Per being maxed and looking like the better prospect to train next season. Funny that you have Per as our lead sprinter, and indeed we planned our flat races in a manner that Per tries to go the Wisniwoski path and attack every classic and that we have high flat guys rather then sprinters for depth results, someone like Roy Jans f.e.
And your assessment about our TTT team is spot on. Phinney won't ride a single TTT, not even Kobenhavn-Malmö, instead we focus on TT-heavy stage races. Next year we'll surely work on bringing in 2-3 TT-powerhouses to work on that part of our outfit. I do thing we have too many races without captains and we'll score far too less in the GTs without Phinney to compete for the podium, but let's see. Also our planning was like a 2 hour max job, so I guess we'll be more on the underperformer end of maximizing the teams potential. |

@Eden95 - I see. I hope you can manage to stay up, although it's obviously difficult when not using 500K wagecap
@Bikex - Damn, sorry. Should be all corrected now
@Croatia14 - Sounds good that I hit it pretty well. It's not always a bad thing to underthink things - I have a tendency to overthink things only to end up with some mistakes that I actually covered better in the first try.
In terms of Per I basically took him as a sprinter to cover as many leaders as possible

Not what I wanted to hear But I guess I was expecting something along those lines. I actually think Zhao and Arashiro may be my best "sprinters", based on ACC and FL respectively. Im not expecting much from any of them, but with teams that have 0 sprinters, I figure having a couple that can snag some top 10's at times is better than nothing, and they will be good support for Liu in a years time.
My staying up rides on Kinoshita being a Top 5 puncheur, I think, and I personally think he is exactly the 5th best, so things will be interesting. Quintana I think with better planning than last year can improve from last year too and be solid, and Shikai should hopefully grab some Top 10s as well. Sibilla is, clearly the worst 81+ cobbler in the game, but for his wage investment he's not horrible to have.
Overall I expect to be near the bottom, bottom half for sure. With some luck we wont relegate, and I do see ourselves as being better than some teams on paper for sure, but planning and luck often count for more than 1 or 2 stat differences one way or the other.

I love the prediction for us, but it's clearly off in terms of our scoring this year I fear. Thanks for the confidence though
