Eastman doing what has to be done, rough day for the team as his two primary domestiques got lost over the first climb and descent and weren't really able to help him out much. Big roles played by the other support riders to ensure Eastman was in the best possible place at least to start the climb.

Sick race for Azteca. Guess Eastman can make the triple mountain stage wins here.

Azteca What a race for them, Eastman in dominant form. Shoutout to our youngster Habtemichael for yet another breakaway, and our former rider Juodvalkis in there as well

Perfectly fine stage 5 for us, somewhat disappointing given how dominant Keough has been to not go for a sprint, but that was never our intent in this race, those have just been very nice bonus points for our team. From a GC standpoint we did this exactly right, letting the break go and avoiding any chance at Eastman losing time to the rivals.

Azteca with a huge performance!
Carsi forgot to bring his legs. What a disgrace, being so much higher skilled then the rest of the field. What a let down.

I'm really happy with the race so far! Kiserlovski in 3rd overall and Von Hoff is holding the team in the sprint stages. Perhaps there's a win on the horizon? The aim from here though is to just hold that podium overall!
Amazing reports so far!! Azteca continues to dominate Good to see they aren't completely unbeatable here

Our focus has shifted to the TTT now that Battaglin is too far behind to fight for anything. Pogi could technically fight for both the U25 and KoM jerseys as well.

Quite a waste of RDs for Cissé, given his results. Today he was 5th from the bunch, but that's rather useless if you have 6 escapees ahead...
Now let's see if our mountain department can again get a great team result - claiming back the lead in the team standings would be great, along with a Top10 GC if possible. But it's not the first time that hopes are high... Let's see.

Best result I think we have had from the McCormick development squad. Fung 5th in the young rider, it is a bonanza.

Well dang. TTT left and Kiserlovski needs over half a minute. Still, could be worse. Still a good race so far with 1 day left. Lets defend the 4th!

Great to see Saggiorato attacking once again. Beating Eastman in the mountains is no bad thing to do, that's for sure. This should definitely be a Top 10 for us, and Manfredi could even make it two. Not sure whether 35" on Medvedev will be enough, but our decent result in Trentino in a TTT 10km longer keeps the hope alive.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to repeat the great team performance we showed on stage 4, probably because the guys worked hard throughout the whole stage. 3rd in the team standings is still nice, but could have been better with some breakaway attendance.
Now, fingers crossed for the TTT.

There's the Eastman we all know and love, throwing away perfectly good GC leads. My level of surprise is very low here, the earlier stages were the actual surprise. None-the-less I do expect a good shot at the GC still as we should win the team time trial and make up those few seconds without too much difficulty.

While I feel gutted that the team lost the TTT by 1 second, overall it was fine race with Pogi finally breaking through by finishing in Top 20 as well as winning the U25 and KoM standings. The next big race for him will be the Monterrey TTT - with the TTT performance shown by some of the TT specialists (Pogi, Navardauskas, Zoidl and Kamberaj), I'm confident that the team will be among the frontrunners. Unfortunately I'm worried for Marchewka and Kukrle

Sadly we won't be making the trip to Monterray, one of our home races as unfortunately Eastman's complete skill set really drove our race decisions. We finally get the GC win that seemed to have been more of a given fact until yesterday. Adding the points jersey is a nice bonus, and the 4 stage wins will look really good as well for both Eastman and Keough.
Thanks for the fantastic reports!
Next up some time for Chaves to shine in San Luis and more Eastman fun in Germany up at C1 level. Before going to Bulgaria and more mountains and another team time-trial (and a flat stage for Vaquera maybe?)

Again, a really solid TTT by my team. I guess it's better having all of the riders +/- at the same TT level than having 1-2 power horses destroying the rest of the team.
So this means two Top10 GC finishes for us, which is really great! We've got several good climbers, but no great one, so the 7th place by Saggiorato is probably quite much the best we can expect with this startlist, backed up by Manfredi on P10.
Masnada (19th) and Signorini (23rd) add some minor points to the result, as does the 3rd place in the team standings. The latter once more confirmed he can do great in MTTs, but with PCM18 has become rather useless in road stages. I was concerned by his horrible FL stat (59) and relatively bad STA (66) pre-transfer, but the previous team manager said it had never been an issue - well, apparently, it is now. On the other hand, really happy about Masnada so far, and Saggiorato and Manfredi have had some good races as well.
Thanks for the report, and congrats to Kent! We'll unfortunately meet Eastman again in Bulgaria, I guess...

Wow... I don't know whether to cry or not... Great performance as always by Thibault in the mountains, and we just couldn't hold on in the TTT. Expected a larger gap than 19 seconds on the final stage so I suppose I should be happy but to lose the GC in that way is hard.
A domination all round from Azteca so I suppose you deserve the points haul!
