Better from Moser for 2nd after two awful stages but he really needs to get a stage win or maintain podiums to get a good GC result here. Our train has been really average here which is disappointing.

Good day for Uri out front. Vaquera with consistent finishing this whole race. Need a few more good days to secure some points as well though.

McCormick very active in the breakaways which is good to see. Nice to let the boys have some fun here, Holloway will ride all the other flat C2s so then it will be team business.
Hopefully we can find a way to get our Xero loanee Habtemicheal some bonuses to get back the U25 jersey.

I will take a Ranneries podium ALL THE TIME. THE GOD. Razzie would be proud.
Also, love the inclusion of speeds in the report!

What a let down after the win yesterday. Oh well, still in yellow.

Chris Harper, what a beauty! Unexpected lead in the U25 classification, classy ride to go for that bonus seconds. Nice to see Jayco active and trying to join those breakaways and obviously we were lucky to get Harper in this group eventually.

This game just doesn't reward depth and having a strong team. Had 2 riders chasing the breakaway and catching it which looked unlikely, got a good train together. And we're rewarded with... 5th. Moser moves to 6th in the GC but really want a stage win here.

I'm not sure if we have the fire power to help Canelon win the entire thing

I'd like Ranneries to nab a top 10 here, but I'm already satisfied with this race as our C2 filler.

Not the result I wanted today but still 1 day to go to move back up the GC order. Let’s go Von Hoff!

An amazingly close GC with one stage left to go!
Once again this season, it appears like the yellow jersey is the kiss of death for any sprinter, it's rather weird to see its effect being quite the opposite of what we were used to.

You know what, that's an acceptable result by my standards. Two 2nd places, 2nd in the GC and a win in the Points classification is a solid effort from Moser. So close to winning the final stage which would have given him the GC win but I'm very happy with 2nd.
Happy that the train finally got sorted on the final stage, good enough that Fonseca even finished 8th! A few small points in the GC and U25 as well so an altogether good race for the team as scoring in C2 can be difficult.

But not as bad as last year
| Result | 2019 | Rank in preview | | 1 | Guillaume Boivin | 3 | | 2 | Moreno Moser | 6 | | 3 | Alexander Krieger | 7 | | 4 | Erik Mohs | 1 | | 5 | Hersony Canelon | 2 | | 6 | Mustafa Carsi | 5 | | 7 | Kristian Sobota | 17 | | 8 | Sam Bennett | 8 | | 9 | Christian Ranneries | 12 | | 10 | Raul Granjel Cabrera | 4 | | . | . | . | | Result | 2018 | Rank in preview | | 1 | Mohamed Harrif Salleh | not in preview | | 2 | Juan Van Heerden | 2 | | 3 | Michael Vanderaerden | 12 | | 4 | Kobe Vanoverschelde | 7 | | 5 | Matti Manninen | 4 | | 6 | Steele Von Hoff | 10 | | 7 | Sascha Modolo | 14 | | 8 | Jens Keukeleire | 6 | | 9 | Daniel Thorsen | 13 | | 10 | Jacopo Guarnieri | 1 |
The top ranked rider in preview this year 4th, last year 10th - both with one stage win.
8 top ten riders was also in preview top 10 - last year only 6
Stage winner preview ranking:
This year: 2-5-10-1-3
Last year: 1-10-not in preview-7-12
even without the "breakwin" clearly worse last season

The difference I think is that the favorite either wins or completely misses the plate, while usually he will get top 5’s on most stages. Whether this exact race is better or worse I don’t know, but the general picture is definately changed!
